Hello, world. I created the article Susanna Ng during Women in Red's October to December 2020 Women in Asia contest. Susanna Ng was the regional managing director of the first international music publisher to open in Mainland China. She is regarded as a notable professional by her peers in the music industry, as you can tell when reading the sources I included in the article. Some users (probably not familiar with the music business) argue her notability, probably because they expect the kind of press coverage artists get. On top of that, she is Taiwanese. According to the Boston Globe in 2015, "It was tough to ignore the Hemp Lady, a.k.a.     Many of its levels were entries in a competition throughout Europe in which ten winners were awarded prizes, a Gauntlet T-shirt and a copy of the program for their computers. So they told players of the game to submit levels for them to then package and sell, and they could win a t-shirt and a copy of those levels. Navy Cross, ship named. Part of Torpedo Squadron 8 at Battle of Midway. All but one of them died in the attack. But it put the Zeroes down low, which made possible the successful bombing attack that sunk three Japanese carriers. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 21:13, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

This is a wrong-headed decision. Important squadron commander. Ignores lots of sources. WP:Before flouted.
The redirect, burying it in the omnibus Navy Cross Article (an Elephant Burial Ground for unwanted articles), is also wrong. If a redirect was required, it plainly should have gone with a MERGE to VT-8.
I had other things to do than save this article; but it will be back with new sources in due course, when I can find time to devote to the project. If anybody else wants to work on this, I have the basic supplemental research done. Contact me via email. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 17:00, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

Actually, I do intend to restore this article. The proposed deletion was wrong; and the redirect misguided. The article should be kept. There are and always have been lots of sources. And it should be restored. Properly rewriting and referencing an article with this history takes time. Hamiliton's work has included the voice of April Ryan in 1999 and 2006 video games. Sources I have found and added to the article indicate Hamilton was still prominent in 2013 when it was reported she would return to the third game in the series, and in 2014, due to reports on her request for assistance with medical bills. However, additional sources and expansion of this article would likely be beneficial, particularly from editors with knowledge of video games and the sources that regularly report on them. I am the COI editor who wrote the article back in 2007. Now it is coming up for AFD. Please keep in mind the following sources that show WP:BASIC and WP:RS:

  1. Encyclopedia of American biography, page 240: Lewis F. Byington's six years as district attorney marked him as a leader among his fellow-citizens.
  2. History of the bench and bar of Nevada, page 247 During his office he prosecuted and secured conviction of many of the most important criminal cases in the history of San Francisco.
  3. San Francisco; a brief biographical sketch of some of the most Prominent Men, page 46 Mr. Byington's brilliant record, on the Board of Supervisors, which lead to his being tendered the nomination for District Attorney in 1899.
  4. Byington wrote several books about history and gave speeches to California Historical Society, e.g. quarterly. v.3-4 1924-25. Early Mining Days in Sierra County.
  5. San Francisco County Biographies History of the San Francisco Bay Region, volume= 3, page 332.
  6. California Review by Henry F. Pernau, page 5 Lewis F. Byington, Grand President of the Native Sons of the Golden West.
  7. Men who made San Francisco, page 124 He has secured the greatest number of convictions of any district attorney in the history of SF.

Hello members, I can't see any action. Can I expect some response? I have placed so many independent secondary citations from print and the digital world to prove the notability of the subject. Improved the article many a time. It takes efforts to create an article, it shouldn't go in vain with just one Afdtag. The voting mechanism shouldn't be so quick that without discussion users start exercising their right. Please have a look on the discussion page and the article.

  • All the information seems to be in the other article. Short articles can be combined. "The third game in the series combined the gameplay aspects of its predecessors," and they added a new car. The Institute for Social Ecology was listed for deletion on February 24th. I did a quick search and found additional sources [[1]], [[2]], [[3]], in addition a news story already on the page provides some good history: [[4]].

This is a notable institution that exists outside co-founder Murray Bookchin's article. The institution has now existed for 14 years after Bookchin's death. This, and the very nature of the place as a collaborative educational institution, make it important to have a stand-alone article. Its an old simple game, not much to write about it other than reviews, and you don't need that many reviews. Everything about it fits in the main article for the trilogy. If there was nowhere to merge it to, then of course it'd need to be its own article based on reviews. But when the three games of that trilogy fit together in one article just fine, let it be. Much of the delete argument about the gng just asserts which is a weak argument against a compelling analysis based on policy. Anand is the director of the Stanford Center for Tubulointerstitial Kidney Disease and a clinical researcher with an apparent theme within her career of examining systemic bias in the prevalance and outcome of disease, including in India, Sri Lanka, and California. She also led a study published in September 2020 that received wide attention for estimating COVID-19 infection rates in the United States, including the racial and economic disparities in infection rates, in part due to the research method, but also in how it undermined the notion that a 'natural' herd immunity could be quickly acheived. The research is also apparently continuing to monitor study participants to help inform COVID-19 mitigation tactics. Attack on HMS Invincible

REDIRECT WITH SELECTIVE MERGE
In this AfD, the community considers how Wikipedia should cover an attack on the HMS Invincible, a British light aircraft carrier, by Argentina that took place during the Falklands War. Nobody believes that we shouldn't cover the attack. At issue here is whether to cover it in a separate article or instead in the main article on HMS Invincible.

To a superficial glance this looks like a "no consensus", and it would be easy to make a no consensus close. But if you follow the arguments, in fact a consensus emerges. There are a number of "delete" !votes which express, as their reasoning, that there's insufficient content or sources to justify a separate article, and therefore this content should be covered in the main article. Per WP:ATD these !votes should be read as "redirect" or "merge". There are a number of "keep" !votes which express that the article changed dramatically during the course of the debate (and they're undoubtedly correct on this). But the clear topic of discussion here is the principle of how to cover this content, not the detail of what the revised article contains. The discussion also contains accusations of bad faith behaviour and puffery against the Article Rescue Squadron. These belong at one of the venues that deal with conduct rather than content, and it is not appropriate for a closer to make a finding about them at AfD.

I built this article from an existing redirect and added several reviews, as you can see in this version of the article, but the article was reverted to a redirect; can anyone help me find additional sources to help assert notability so that it can be restored? David Vetter (farmer)

The article for David Vetter (farmer) was recently nominated for deletion. He is a major figure in the organic agriculture movement. He and his father were some of the earliest practitioners of organic farming in the Corn Belt. He and his farm were the subject of a documentary film, Dreaming of a Vetter World, produced by Steve Buscemi, Jo Andres, and Robert Houston. Notability is clear in my opinion. I would appreciate any help in finding sourcing or improving the article in any way. Finding sourcing is a bit difficult as there is another notable David Vetter. List of military disasters

This has been at AfD three times before and was kept everytime. A good source for this is one of my favourite books – On the Psychology of Military Incompetence – which explains that the sort of personality which does well in peacetime – the obsessive martinet – copes poorly with the chaos and confusion of battle. The delete side thinks that all military engagements are a disaster at least for the losing side (or, in my view, for humanity generally, y'know), and that it is WP:OR to determine what a military disaster is. The keep side points to reliable sources that list things they call military disasters, which means that in this view no OR is necessary. We won't reconcile these points of view here, but I predict that the list is much more likely to survice a fifth AfD if it is cleaned up to limit itself to events reliably sourced as a "military disaster"."

Simulations Publications, Inc. (SPI) games

Armageddon: Tactical Combat, 3000-500 BC and Patrol (board game) were both redirected as the result of a 2013 AFD. I moved both articles to DRAFT space for improvement, and we have found some good sources for each. We know that more reviews exist, if anyone can help us find them or any other WP:RS for these two games, and get them successfully out of AFC! :) BOZ (talk) 19:23, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Rudolph van Richten

First AFD was in 2011, second was in 2019, both times closed as redirect. At the time, no independent reliable sources were found for the character, but recently multiple sources have been written for him online as he is the subject of brand-new release Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, particularly this one and somewhat in this and this, and also in this one older review that was not found during the AFD. Since the book was just released today there may be additional reviews and sources appearing in the near future, as there are many outlets that might not have pre-release access to prepare an early or same-day review. Well, the main ARS page actually literally says that ARS also helps with things like PROD and it even has a whole section for Drafts at Wikipedia:Article Rescue Squadron#Rescuing drafts, so if I move this to drafts instead will you rethink the "go somewhere else if it's not AFD" position? DRV won't help, because they only review to see if the original close was correct, and they will look at this one and say it was correct (I know this because I have tried that before). Unfortunately, and I really wish there was, but Wikipedia does not have a "we'll help bring back your deleted/redirected article if you find the sources to prove notability" function and people certainly can make it harder to do so than it needs to be. About the only thing I know that does work is to move it to drafts and have an AFC reviewer look at it, as it did in the section above this one. BOZ (talk) 20:40, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
