Long shot[edit]

Hi, I'm Pbritti! This is something of a long shot, but I noticed you were among the last people to post on the WikiProject Unitarian talk page. I think the project is dead and has been dead for some time, but was hoping to find someone with at least a little familiarity with Unitarianism who might be willing to look at draft on a set of Unitarian liturgies, which can be found here. If you are so inclined as to read it in its incomplete state or before I publish it, please let me know! I'm a Catholic editor with a lot more experience with topics regarding my faith and Anglicanism, and I would hate to introduce any biases I might have. Thank you! ~ Pbritti (talk) 06:28, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Pbritti: Unfortunately, I think you're right. The WikiProject appears to be dead. I can help review your draft, but I haven't been as active lately due to changes in my personal life so it might be a while before I get to it. Also, to be completely honest I'm not well read on Unitarianism and mostly joined the project because I thought UUism seemed interesting. And although I might be a Protestant I'm not exactly well read on Protestant doctrine either as I was brought up in an American evangelical church. However, I am an AfC reviewer and I am interested in religion. On first glance I'm a little confused by your draft. Is the article a biography for James Freeman or an article about the book of common prayer? TipsyElephant (talk) 02:09, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It also appears that there are already articles for James Freeman (clergyman) and Book of Common Prayer (Unitarian). TipsyElephant (talk) 02:13, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see you created the article for the book of common prayer...so I guess I'm a little late. Sorry it took me so long to reply. TipsyElephant (talk) 02:15, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries! Thanks for looking! Consider me willing to help if you ever need anything! ~ Pbritti (talk) 07:10, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alan Barnard[edit]

Hi @TipsyElephant, you reviewed my draft about Dr Alan Barnard in August. I want to query the "TOCICO is not independent of Alan and not reliable" statement. Why would you say that is so? TOCICO is an organization independent from Alan, therefore awards and sources from it in not biased. Thanks for your response in advance. Karini.goosen (talk) 09:29, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Karini.goosen, the draft stated that Draft:Alan Barnard was the Chairman of the Board, TOCICO – Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization (2003-2005) and the bio page states that Alan is a ... former president of TOCICO (2003 to 2005). Alan being the president or being the chairman of the organization means that Alan is not WP:INDEPENDENT of the organization. Nowhere in my reviewer comment did I comment on the reliability of TOCICO. TipsyElephant (talk) 21:33, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In the period Dr Barnard received awards from TOCICO, he was not the chairman of TOCICO anymore and did not have any influence on who received rewards. In Theory of Contraints (TOC), TOCICO is a highly valued organization, contributing to knowledge and creating an excellent pathway for TOC practitioners. Dr Barnard worked for Eliyahu Goldratt (the creator of TOC) and was his mentee for more than 15 years. As a leader in his field, most TOC practitioners will know Dr Barnard and value his contributions to this field. Making him an obvious choice for chairman or awards without him influencing it. Karini.goosen (talk) 10:52, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Working closely with the creator of TOCICO for 15 years convinces me even more that Barnard and TOCICO are not independent of each other. TipsyElephant (talk) 19:15, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dr Eliyahu Goldratt is not the creator of TOCICO (Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization). He invented TOC (Theory of Constraints). TOCICO which is a not profit organization, bringing people and TOC knowledge together. Dr Barnard who was mentee, has some of the best TOC knowledge, therefore his knowledge of TOC is always a great contribution to the TOCICO organization. Please go see the difference between the two. https://www.tocico.org and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_constraints Karini.goosen (talk) 06:26, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@TipsyElephant: Hey i saw that you previously reviewed the Draft and has mentioned some points which i thought to explain being a Nepalese wiki editor. TahaKhabar, ABC TV are one of the mainstream media of Nepal and in tahakhabar it has written that the reporter of taha has written the article and for ABC editor has written and about republica they mostly write contributor on their staff profile but they don't have any contributor platform and has also mentioned in article that Samiksha from republica which denotes she works there. BBC radio programme are notable as per notability criterias. Anyway i have added few additional references on article let me know if it's okay to make it live or need any additional references? i will submit if you think it's good now. DIVINE (talk) 04:44, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, Nepallivetoday is sister publication and english version of Nepallive.com which is also a reliable source. DIVINE (talk) 05:02, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@TipsyElephantCan you reply? You previously reviewed, so I’m giving some suggestions and asking to re-check as I’ve added some more source. I don’t even see you responding. DIVINE (talk) 14:10, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@DIVINE: my apologies. I've been quite busy lately and I have not had the time to look into your requests in any depth. However, I am still under the impression that this person does not pass WP:BIO or WP:GNG. You can resubmit the draft and wait for another reviewer to review the draft. Perhaps a different reviewer will have a more charitable view on whether the subject is notable. TipsyElephant (talk) 14:18, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Just letting you know per our conversation here that I think there might be enough now, but will put it through AfC for reviewer to decide. Star Mississippi 15:35, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Star Mississippi, I've decided to accept the draft. I believe the 2022 pieces by the NYT and Vulture are enough to demonstrate notability. Both sources are clearly reliable and both contain over 100 words specifically dedicated to the subject, which is often what I personally use as a threshold for trivial versus non-trivial coverage. Congrats and happy editing! TipsyElephant (talk) 11:06, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much. Have a great day Star Mississippi 13:15, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just pinging you because I don't normally create podcast articles but Critical Role Productions purchased the Draft:Midst podcast and is remastering it. Prior to acquisition, Midst won a few awards on the festival circuit but I couldn't find any reviews of the podcast (or at least reviews from sources I recognize). My assumption is that it will receive more reviews when it is rereleased by CR in a few weeks & once that coverage is added to the article, it'll be ready for mainspace. If you have time to give it a once over, that would be super helpful! Thanks. Sariel Xilo (talk) 21:48, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Sariel Xilo: I've been pretty busy, but I'll definitely take a look. I actually started listening to Midst somewhat recently. TipsyElephant (talk) 00:24, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No rush! Just wanted to put it on your radar. They've pulled Midst from all the platforms it was on ahead of the April rerelease and scrubbed their social media which made getting the original run dates a bit of pain (a few platforms like Stitcher still have the original episodes listed even though you can't listen to them). Sariel Xilo (talk) 00:36, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Back here again ![edit]

Hi there,

I don’t see anyone more interested to review Draft: Prakash Neupane and it has been so long after you reviewed last and when you sent so large suggestions after reviewing the draft. Editors are neither accepting nor rejecting but in the meantime has added some sources and i think now it passes all the notability guidelines. Additionally, Taha Khabar and Abcnepal tv is not the same article as they are different articles in different time about different musical album on a different topic written by editors. As i have previously mentioned about Republica as they write their editor as contributors on there platform. Please look into depth as you were the one to review firstly and i believe you will review it again in depth. Regards, DIVINE (talk) 18:51, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DIVINE: I'm a volunteer and edit what and when I want to. I don't particularly want to review the draft again. It's really not a subject I'm interested in. There are other drafts that have been waiting to be reviewed for four months; be patient.
As far as the reprint article goes, you are correct in that they aren't completely the same. However, using Google translate suggests that the articles contain a large amount of overlap that I do not believe is a coincidence. For instance, these quotes appear in both articles:
"Prakash's new album has also been released on iTunes Store, Google Play, Amazon and Spotify, as music has gone digital and songs are being released on digital stores all over the world."
"Even in Nepal, since the use of CD, VCD or cassette has disappeared, the trend of commercially releasing albums in digital stores has started. Apart from that, songs and videos are also released through platforms like YouTube and Facebook."
It's also worth noting that even the article in The Hindu contained quite a bit of WP:INTERVIEW content.
Please wait for a different reviewer. TipsyElephant (talk) 02:14, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It’s worth nothing? I don’t see WP:Interview in The Hindu source & has clearly seen that author who wrote was Editor and can see the byline. What you might want is to be Nepalese or indian news sources be like on that level like The Guardian or BBC but Nepal is a small nation and the way the journalism work here is different and i am not pushing you for anything but requesting you to re-check because you checked it before that’s all. I see quotes more in some places than interviews on The Hindu sorces and now we can’t see the full article because it says that it’s one year and older and Radio programs on BBC are generally reliable as per Wikipedia and yes it depends upon different reviewers. Thanks DIVINE (talk) 03:34, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Media Path Podcast[edit]

Hello TipsyElephant, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Media Path Podcast, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 18:09, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Ivanvector: sorry about that. I guess I got carried away. I'll make sure to read over the criteria next time. Thanks for the note. TipsyElephant (talk) 21:33, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Foxes of Hydesville[edit]

Before I jump into this, I wanted to say thank you and that I appreciate all that you do for podcasting. Everywhere I look that's podcast-related, I see your name pop up, rounding it all out. Onto the main point: would you be interested in looking at creating a page for the narrative podcast The Foxes of Hydesville? BOTTO (TC) 02:41, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Botto, I appreciate the kind words. I actually looked into this a little bit recently. Unfortunately, I don't think the podcast passes WP:N just yet. I'm mostly seeing sources from blogs,[1][2] syndicated / reprints,[3][4] and press release sources.[5][6] The best sources I've found are from Deadline and The Guardian, but I don't think that's enough to pass.[7][8] I wouldn't mind creating a draft and incubating it for a while to see if new sources crop up. QCode productions often receive coverage eventually and this podcast was created within the last few months so it's very possible new sources will appear soon. It looks like the show is doing decent on podcast charts, especially in fiction, even if it's not #1.[9] If you're interested in improving the chances that the show receives news coverage you could contact websites that review podcasts such as Podcast Review and Podcast Magazine.[10][11][12][13] Similarly, you could try to get in contact with journalists who review podcasts like Nicholas Quah or Wil Williams. In the meantime, I wouldn't mind looking into whether Shawn Christensen's other podcast, Hunted, is notable, and there are a few other QCode podcasts that are likely notable (i.e. I've been planning to get to Draft:Last Known Position for a while now). I also noticed that there is a theatre play about the fox sisters called The Incredible Fox Sisters if you're interested in productions about the same subject. Everything is Alive[edit]

Hi. I've declined your request for this to be speedy deleted so that you can move your draft into the space. Please submit the draft for review in the normal way and it can be moved when a reviewer agrees it's ready. Deb (talk) 14:05, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Deb: I am an AfC reviewer. The subject is clearly notable. Please reconsider the request. TipsyElephant (talk) 14:08, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The AfC backlog is at 4 months now. There's no reason to add to it with this draft. You can view the 183 articles that I've created using xTools if you'd like to see a history of the articles I've already created. Many of which did go through the AfC process. TipsyElephant (talk) 14:15, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As a matter of interest, why do you keep so many articles in draft if you're not intending to submit them for review? Deb (talk) 14:59, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Deb: because I'm still working on them and don't feel that they are ready for mainspace. Many of them I've only found sources for so far and haven't written any prose yet. Does that violate any policy or guideline? Should I not do it that way? TipsyElephant (talk) 15:04, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There's no reason you shouldn't - I was just curious as most people work on one or two articles at a time, at most, partly because drafts can get deleted if they have been left unattended for six months (and that goes quickly). I've tended to use the "under construction" template and only put articles into draft when there was something potentially controversial about them. But if you don't like starting with a stub, it's okay to do it in draft. Had I been reviewing the article in question, I'd have suggested making a clearer claim of notability. Lots of citations is all very well, but it's still a good idea to say why the topic is notable. But I'm not reviewing it and I'll do that deletion now that I understand your approach. Deb (talk) 15:11, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Deb: fair enough. Sorry if my initial responses were a bit bristly. I was hungry and should have remembered to edit on a full stomach. You're right, I often find myself spending more time searching for sources then writing articles, which leads to an accumulation of well-sourced (if a bit WP:REFBOMB-y) but extremely short drafts that I haven't moved to mainspace yet. I also find that it's also easier to search for sources on my phone than it is to actually edit Wikipedia articles, and I tend to have more available time on my phone then I do on an actual computer. I've been meaning to clean up the 20 or so drafts that I currently have listed on my userpage and get them moved to mainspace, but I have a bad habit of finding more subjects to search for before finishing what I've already started. I'll try to refrain from creating any more drafts before I finish up with what I've started. Thank you for reconsidering the deletion request. TipsyElephant (talk) 15:27, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, I can see why the need to use the phone makes it difficult, and I hope you don't think I was being deliberately awkward. When this kind of speedy comes up, I have to check that there isn't anything dodgy in the history of the existing redirect or any other reason it shouldn't be deleted. Deb (talk) 15:35, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Deb: totally makes sense. I've added a reception section to the article to address your suggestion that there should be a clearer claim of notability. TipsyElephant (talk) 16:17, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Blocked and Reported.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free podcast cover are being used in a WP:DECORATIVE in Jesse Singal#Podcast. Non-free cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about the work it represents, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular cover anywhere in the "Podcast" section of the Singal article which means there's really no justification for the file's non-free use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:43, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Red Hill Band[edit]

On 28 October 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Red Hill Band, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Red Hill Band was commended by the United States Senate in 1965 for its "excellence and its state and community contributions"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Red Hill Band. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Red Hill Band), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

November Articles for creation backlog drive[edit]

Hello TipsyElephant:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

There is a backlog of over 2700 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:25, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested articles/Arts and entertainment/Internet and tech culture[edit]

Hi, I put in a request for a page about Simon Minter of the Sidemen on the ‘Requested articles/Arts and entertainment/Internet and tech culture’ page but it has since been removed from that page but no article has been written. I saw that it was you who removed it and I was curious as to why? Five of the seven Sidemen have their own individual pages and I merely wanted Simon and Harry to have theirs. AlwaysBi (talk) 01:47, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@AlwaysBi: I have removed quite a few entries from that list. I have mostly removed entries that did not include any reliable sources to demonstrate notability. If you are able to find reliable sources that discuss the subject feel free to readd it to the list or better yet, write the article. If you can not find reliable sources with significant coverage than it should not be readded to the list. TipsyElephant (talk) 02:29, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
When editing the list there is a message at the top of the page that states "Requested articles without at least one reliable source linked in the request are eligible to be removed from the list at any time." TipsyElephant (talk) 03:00, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about The Improvement Association[edit]

Hello TipsyElephant, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, The Improvement Association, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Improvement Association.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|North8000}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
