Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to The Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have.

Information icon Hello, I'm Andrevan. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Andre🚐 05:25, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Theoneandonlylinguist09! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Andre🚐 06:34, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think you need to stop disruptively editing an article which does not concern your's nor matches yours. If you continue to disruptively edit an article, you can be blocked permeanently from editing. Should you have any concerns please feel free to reach out to me, rather than engaging in disruptive editing. Thankyou Theoneandonlylinguist09 (talk) 06:38, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but you can't hijack a redirect to create a new article without sources. Please stop. If you revert again I'll open an AN3. Andre🚐 06:40, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Sorry, I made an error in reverting after not noticing details, so I undid my reversion. However, please make sure to indicate that you were adding the native name of an island in infoboxes and prose, since I noticed how you did not in an edit in Sigatoka Sand Dunes, which may have caused that edit's reversion. A tag has been placed on Draft:Satyam clothing store, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Infoboxes[edit]

Article infoboxes and lead section have a specific format and templates. Please stop adding non-English script at random – this is not how the proper way of adding local names.

Also, please keep in mind that most articles don't need local names, even if ones exist!kashmīrī TALK 21:37, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, proper names are capitalised, also in Fijian.kashmīrī TALK 13:40, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but I've decided to undo all your changes as they don't seem helpful to the reader. For instance, we mention native names only when the English term has been a translation of the local name or in other way has originated from the local name, and not whenever they exist. We don't add names in all local languages, as this would be useless for the reader. Finally, template parameters have a defined format (for instance, name provides the English name for article subject) and should not be messed around with.
If you want to edit Wikipedia, I suggest you start with acquainting yourself with its policies and manual of style. A good place to start is here: Help:Introduction. Cheers, kashmīrī TALK 13:53, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
sorry, but you cannot undo changes because you feel like it, these are official names, in official languages, not "local languages" read up Fiji's official languages act, which requires all areas to be named in Fijian and Hindi Theoneandonlylinguist09 (talk) 02:19, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter. India for example has 22 official languages, yet we don't stick them all in every India-related article. We don't routinely add official names in local languages unless they are well attested and helpful, or unless the English term is only their translation/approximation. Primarily, you need to address the problem I mentioned above – your breaking or misusing Wiki syntax and template parameters, especially with regard to infoboxes, by sticking Fijian and Hindi versions of official English names for places and organisations. The vast majority of these names, as I checked, are NOT KNOWN under what you proposed as native names – these "names" are not even present on official websites, and so on. It appears to me that you just simply back-translated English names into other languages used in Fiji. This is not how Wikipedia works, and such unsourced, questionable additions can be removed by any editor.
Moreover, I advised you to use correct capitalisation. Yet you ignored it, much like everything else that I wrote.
I also suggest you read WP:BRD, because your continuing edit warring will only result in your account being blocked from editing. — kashmīrī TALK 02:35, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning[edit]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, as you did at Satyam, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You have already been blocked for precisely the same violation. One more such promotional edit and you may find your account blocked, as it icreasingly appears that you are not here to build an encyclopaedia.kashmīrī TALK 02:42, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Three-revert rule[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — AP 499D25 (talk) 05:49, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
