Neutral does not mean what you think it does

If you think that using people who push far right conspiracy theories and LITERALLY ARGUE IN PUBLIC FOR ETHNIC CLEANSING are "neutral" sources, then I have absolutely nothing to say to you beyond urging you to become acquainted with the English language so you can learn what "neutral" means. Unless, of course, you are simply so far right that a man who says Israel should expel and/or kill all Arabs is "moderate" to you, and therefore acceptable. It does not matter whether or not the source itself for information is neutral as long as it doesn't alter the facts of a situation and the opinions that conveys are attributed directly to them (as opposed to the article itself). If you can find reasonable and proven evidence (as opposed to speculation) of those sources not being reliable or deliberately making errors from a source other than yourself and that is reliable, then the removal of the content would likely be seen as justified by other editors. However, considering how you have been removing the content solely due to speculation about the writers' reliability, discussing the matter on the article's talk page would be a better option. I've noticed how you edit warred after my reversion; in the future, please make sure to discuss any controversial edits on the talk page of an article instead of continuing to revert. Please also do not immediately suspect users of trying to push a POV if they revert you, since doing so is considered to be assuming bad faith. That Tired Tarantula^Burrow 20:26, 4 March 2024 (UTC)

You seriously don't even know who any of these people are, do you? Benny Morris helped invent the term ethnic cleansing and then spent his entire adult life arguing it should be done the Palestinians. This is well known and clear, even from his own Wikipedia page which quotes him in depth. If you don't care about that, and still think he's reliable, then I have to question your intent at that point.

I read their Wikipedia pages after your reverts, so I get how you're concerned about that. But I am not involved with the article itself and don't know much about the situation; I'm just trying uphold the site guidelines. I'm not trying to support anyone or any idea. Anyways, please just head to the Talk of that article so that you can discuss the content with editors who'll have more insights about it and who have contributed more to the article. Ehh, kinda. Still doesn't change how you have no solid evidence from a reliable source for any of the people mentioned on the page lying. Hello and thanks for reverting vandals. To make vandal fighting easier, have you tried installing Twinkle or RedWarn? Abkhazia

i'm from abkhazia. Abkhazia is not a recognized state it is a defacto state so calling a so-called state of abkhazia is not a mistake. Alright, I'm assuming that you made an edit that I reverted on November 23 to Flag of Abkhazia using the IP address 212.58.120.4; thank you for clarifying, but the Wikipedia page already specifies that the Republic of Abkhazia is partially recognized and self-declared. Whether or not the Republic of Abkhazia is an independent state also appears to be disputed, since what the UN says is not the ultimate authority on whether or not it is an independent state (especially since six countries recognize it), so adding in "so-called" appears subjective (Wikipedia requires everything to be neutral); therefore, I do not believe that the extra clarification is necessary. For future reference, you can sign your name by adding four tildes (the ~ symbol) in a row. Also, welcome to Wikipedia! Here are some pages that might be helpful for learning more about editing:

Disruptive editing

It is extremely disruptive to undo edits that you haven't even bothered to look at. An account three months old that does nothing but revert and warn people and doesn't bother to read the edits it is reverting looks like someone who is not here to build an encyclopaedia. 94.119.32.5 (talk) 07:33, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

I did look at your edit, and sure, some of that content didn't have a source right by it, but your edit summary made it seem like you thought you were reverting that content just because you didn't want or care about it being on there. Reverting edits that do not appear constructive is simply how I prefer to contribute the majority of the time; I also do some page tagging and copy editing. Anyways, please at least try to find a source for something before getting rid of it, and provide a non-subjective reason for removing encyclopedic content if you do so. Thank you for notifying me; sorry, it seemed disruptive at first because I was patrolling Recent Changes and just trying to see if there was any disruption in general, and out of context, the edit resembled some nonconstructive things I've seen in different articles in the past, causing me to decide to revert it quickly. Hi,

I saw you recently reverted vandalism on this TV show "and then there were none" article? I just tried to go there from the article on Toby Stephens out of curiosity and saw nothing but a page redirect someone (with an existing vandalism warning as the sole post on their talk page...) put in a few hours ago without discussion first. I vaguely recall that being a big no-no. I thought looking at the series' page history you were maybe the person to notify about the unilateral page move?

Okay. Sorry, I was patrolling Recent Changes and just stumbled on the page and reverted some minor vandalism on it; I didn't know about any page moves happening. I also looked at the page's history, and noticed the recent page move; I think that the move may have been done either because the editor who did it either believed that the term is always "TV series" in the UK or hadn't seen the word "serial" used in this context. Either way, I will be notifying the editor who moved the page most recently on their Talk page about discussing page moves before making them. I will also make sure to fix the double redirect. WikiCup 2024 March newsletter

The first round of the 2024 WikiCup ended at 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February. Everyone with at least 30 points moved on to Round 2, the highest number of points required to advance to the second round since 2014. Due to a six-way tie for the 64th-place spot, 67 contestants have qualified for Round 2.

The following scorers in Round 1 all scored more than 300 points:

• Generalissima (submissions), who has 916 points mostly from one FA on John Littlejohn (preacher), 15 GAs, and 16 DYKs on a variety of topics including New Zealand coinage and Inuit figures, in addition to seven reviews
• Vami_IV (submissions), who has 790 points from two FAs on Felix M. Warburg House and Doom (2016 video game), two GAs, one DYK, and 11 reviews
• AirshipJungleman29 (submissions), who has 580 points from one FA on Hö'elün, two GAs on Mongolia-related articles, two DYKs, and five reviews
• Sammi Brie (submissions), who has 420 points mostly from nine GAs and seven DYKs on television and radio stations
• MaranoFan (submissions), who has 351 points from one FA on Holidays (Meghan Trainor song), a nine-article FT on 30 (album), and three DYKs
• Skyshifter (submissions), who has 345 points from one FA on OneShot, one DYK and two reviews

In this newsletter, the judges would like to pay a special tribute to Vami_IV (submissions), who unfortunately passed away this February. At the time of his death, he was the second-highest-scoring competitor. Outside the WikiCup, he had eight other featured articles, five A-class articles, eight other good articles, and two Four Awards. Vami also wrote an essay on completionism, a philosophy in which he deeply believed. If you can, please join us in honoring his memory by improving one of the articles on his to-do list.

Remember that any content promoted after 27 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. RFA2024 update: no longer accepting new proposals in phase I

Hey there! This is to let you know that phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship (RfA) review is now no longer accepting new proposals. Lots of proposals remain open for discussion, and the current round of review looks to be on a good track towards making significant progress towards improving RfA's structure and environment. I'd like to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has given us their idea for change to make RfA better, and the same to everyone who has given the necessary feedback to improve those ideas. The following proposals remain open for discussion:

• Proposal 2, initiated by HouseBlaster, provides for the addition of a text box at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship reminding all editors of our policies and enforcement mechanisms around decorum.
• Proposals 3 and 3b, initiated by Barkeep49 and Usedtobecool, respectively, provide for trials of discussion-only periods at RfA. The first would add three extra discussion-only days to the beginning, while the second would convert the first two days to discussion-only.
• Proposal 5, initiated by SilkTork, provides for a trial of RfAs without threaded discussion in the voting sections.
• Proposals 6c and 6d, initiated by BilledMammal, provide for allowing users to be selected as provisional admins for a limited time through various concrete selection criteria and smaller-scale vetting.
• Proposal 7, initiated by Lee Vilenski, provides for the "General discussion" section being broken up with section headings.
• Proposal 9b, initiated by Reaper Eternal, provides for the requirement that allegations of policy violation be substantiated with appropriate links to where the alleged misconduct occured.
• Proposals 12c, 21, and 21b, initiated by City of Silver, Ritchie333, and HouseBlaster, respectively, provide for reducing the discretionary zone, which currently extends from 65% to 75%. The first would reduce it 65%–70%, the second would reduce it to 50%–66%, and the third would reduce it to 60%–70%.
• Proposal 13, initiated by Novem Lingaue, provides for periodic, privately balloted admin elections.
• Proposal 14, initiated by Kusma, provides for the creation of some minimum suffrage requirements to cast a vote.
• Proposals 16 and 16c, initiated by Thebiguglyalien and Soni, respectively, provide for community-based admin desysop procedures. 16 would desysop where consensus is established in favor at the administrators' noticeboard; 16c would allow a petition to force reconfirmation.
• Proposal 16e, initiated by BilledMammal, would extend the recall procedures of 16 to bureaucrats.
• Proposal 17, initiated by SchroCat, provides for "on-call" admins and 'crats to monitor RfAs for decorum.
• Proposal 18, initiated by theleekycauldron, provides for lowering the RfB target from 85% to 75%.
• Proposal 24, initiated by SportingFlyer, provides for a more robust alternate version of the optional candidate poll.
• Proposal 25, initiated by Femke, provides for the requirement that nominees be extended-confirmed in addition to their nominators.
• Proposal 27, initiated by WereSpielChequers, provides for the creation of a training course for admin hopefuls, as well as periodic retraining to keep admins from drifting out of sync with community norms.
• Proposal 28, initiated by HouseBlaster, tightens restrictions on multi-part questions.

Regarding my edit at Peter Brown (historian)

That wasn't a test edit (did you read the following dummy edit comment?). The MediaWiki parser gets confused when newlines are inserted or removed adjacent to space changes in lists. It's not easy to prove, so I won't revert you wholesale, though I might add whitespace to get the citations to wrap in the edit window or something like that. Incumbents Dhtwiki and Miniapolis were reelected coordinators, and Wracking was newly elected coordinator, to serve through 30 June. Nominations for our mid-year Election of Coordinators will open on 1 June (UTC). Drive: 46 editors signed up for our January Backlog Elimination Drive, 32 of whom claimed at least one copy-edit. Between them, they copy-edited 289 articles totaling 626,729 words. Barnstars awarded are here. Blitz: 23 editors signed up for our February Copy Editing Blitz. 18 claimed at least one copy-edit and between them, they copy-edited 100,293 words in 32 articles. Barnstars awarded are here. WikiCup 2024 April newsletter

We are approaching the end of the 2024 WikiCup's second round, with a little over two weeks remaining. Currently, contestants must score at least 105 points to progress to the third round.

Our current top scorers are as follows:

• Sammi Brie (submissions) with 642 points, mostly from 11 GAs about radio and television;
• voorts (submissions) with 530 points, mostly from two FAs (Well he would, wouldn't he? and Cora Agnes Benneson) and three GAs;
• Generalissima (submissions) with 523 points, mostly from 11 GAs about coinage and history;
• SounderBruce (submissions) with 497 points, mostly from a FA about the 2020 season of the soccer club Seattle Sounders FC and two GAs;
• Tamzin (submissions) with 410 points, mostly from a FA about the drink Capri-Sun and three GAs;
• Kusma (submissions) with 330 points, mostly from a FA about the English botanist Anna Blackburne and a GA.

Competitors may submit work for the second round until the end of 28 April, and the third round starts 1 May. Remember that only competitors with the top 32 scores will make it through to the third round. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs. As a reminder, competitors are strictly prohibited from gaming Wikipedia policies or processes to receive more points.

However, you can create it again as long as Naenae SC has in-depth coverage written by multiple independent and reliable sources and the content is supported by those sources and written from a neutral point of view.
