Advance changes to GBBO and Extra Slice

I have reverted all your changes to GBBO and Extra Slice. We make changes once the new version begins, but do not remove the history with the BBC. Please avoid making edits that are factually inaccurate: Prue Leith has never appeared on Extra Slice, and we have no idea whether she will. Bristol Bears

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Template:Bristol Rugby squad a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Template:Bristol Bears squad. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Hi. I see in a recent addition to British government response to the COVID-19 pandemic you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. Where are you getting the tier 4 rules from? The regulations haven't been published yet, so far as I can tell. And it can't be assumed that the guidelines will be the same as the legally-enforceable regs. There are usually significant differences. I'm concerned that you are making sweeping changes to the text thereby invalidating many of the existing citations which you seem to be leaving untouched. The editor has been around for a long time, and this behaviour appears deliberate, and not due to inexperience. A report to ANI or similar seems called for. The problem is that the sources you cited didn't actually say what you claimed they said. When three different editors tell you you've gotten it wrong, it is past time to stop and think about what is being said.
