The redirect template depicted in K.O (rapper) is most definitely inadequate since the page itself is disambiguated, yes I understand that I should've explained but I thought it would be more obvious. Thank You! Neo the Twin (talk) 18:50, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

If I understand you correctly, you are saying that you removed the soft-redirect because this disambiguation page already exists, which is true, but the soft-redirect is meant for people who simply typed a search term into the search box and landed on K.O (rapper). If they landed on that page in error, by (for example) typing "K.O" when they meant to type "K.O." looking for the article on knockouts, the links provided tell them where to go to see that article. Another option would be to redirect "K.O" to the disambiguation page, so that people land there, instead of on K.O (rapper) and to maybe leave a distinguish redirect for the similarly-named hip-hop artist's page. Cheers! Marchijespeak/peek 19:44, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
Marchije, it's not necessary to state that "'K.O' redirects here" where as K.O (rapper) is diasmbiguated and 'K.O' redirects to a disambiguated page. See Umlilo, it used to redirect to Umlilo (song) which was inadequate since a disambiguated page cannot redirect to a head page. However, in this case the situation is different because 'K.O' refers to a lot of things and we cannot move K.O (rapper) to only K.O. Neo the Twin (talk) 21:35, 6 April 2022 (UTC)
The reason why it states "'K.O' redirects here" is because K.O does indeed redirect to K.O (rapper), therefore anyone who types just "K.O" into the search bar will be directed to K.O (rapper), not the disambiguation page. And this is partly why the hatnote was the way that it was – it was meant to assist those who might have been looking for the Knockout page, but typed "K.O", presumably in error. You've stated "K.O (rapper) is diasmbiguated" and (correct me if I'm wrong), but I assume you mean that a link to K.O (rapper) appears on the disambiguation page KO. If this is what you were saying, then I agree, but that hatnote is meant to redirect people who did not mean to land on K.O (rapper) in the first place. You know what I mean? (Sorry, I may not be explaining myself clearly.) Marchijespeak/peek 00:56, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
Update: To make matters more complicated, K.o redirects to Knockout, so I suspect that this is one of the drivers for the redirect hatnote. Here's my proposal: Personally, I think that both K.o and K.O be redirected to the disambiguation page Ko. Then we could add a simple {{distinguish|KO (musician)}} hatnote to K.O (rapper). Does that sound good? Marchijespeak/peek 02:43, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
Marchije, if you carefully check the page's history, you'll find out that the hatnote was placed by none other than me, if you feel like re-placing the hatnote again please distinguish it with with at least the K.O disambiguation page only. Neo the Twin (talk) 04:34, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
I don't think you understand what I am saying, but not to worry. I think that dab page and all the redirected pages need a rework anyway and I'll propose them on the dab page's talk page to gain consensus. Feel free to join the conversation there. Thanks! Marchije, you can place {{For|the Canadian musician|KO (musician)|other uses|KO (disambiguation)}} or only {{Other uses|KO (disambiguation)}}, although I prefer the second option cause it mentions or rather include everything. Neo the Twin (talk) 13:51, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
Understood. Thanks. Marchijespeak/peek 21:14, 7 April 2022 (UTC)
