Afro image edit

Hi Marchije,

Please forgive me for not putting an edit summary- in fact I changed the image after a long and deliberate discussion with many people who I deem experts on Jewish culture- it seems that the old image- with the strange expression makes a mockery of this style and accordingly could be considered by some as anti-Semitic. It is for this reason that I proposed the new picture and I support the idea that we revert to the one I contributed.

Sincerely,

Zmenglish

Interesting edit summary. If a picture of a person with a "perplexed" look on their face was tantamount to anti-Semetism, then I've got a lot of photos to take down from Facebook!
In all seriousness, I don't have a preference for either image and really don't care which one remains in the article, so I am leaving your edit as is. However, in the future, please note that consensus with regards to Wikipedia articles should be garnered among registered Wikipedia editors by using the article's talk page and not via alleged meetings of unnamed "experts".
I hope that having a picture of you/your friend in that article brings you as much joy as it did for the editor who added that previous image. Enjoy.
PS: Usually when you conduct a conversation on Wikipedia the conversation should continue in a thread on the same talk page, so if another editor posts something to your talk page you should post your response just below it. If you want to let the other editor know that you've replied to a thread on your talk page, you can go to the other editor's talk page and post a "{{talkback|Zmenglish}}" so that they will see a notification of a new message like this:
Hello, Marchije. You have new messages at Zmenglish's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
For more info you might also want to read Help:Using talk pages.
Thanks for the lulz. --Marchijespeak/peek 03:59, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
I strongly feel that Jews and non-Jews alike who maintain such a hairstyle deserve to have such a sincere portrayal of their identity on this site. You have made a wise choice and done a good deed. Zmenglish (talk) 18:42, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

TWL HighBeam check-in

Hello Wikipedia Library Users,

You are receiving this message because the Wikipedia Library has record of you receiving a one-year subscription to HighBeam. This is a brief update to remind you about that access:

  • Make sure that you can still log in to your HighBeam account; if you are having trouble feel free to contact me for more information. When your access expires you can reapply at WP:HighBeam.
  • Remember, if you find this source useful for your Wikipedia work, make sure to include citations with links on Wikipedia: links to partner resources are one of the few ways we can demonstrate usage and demand for accounts to our partners. The greater the linkage, the greater the likelihood a useful partnership will be renewed. For more information about citing this source, see Wikipedia:HighBeam/Citations
  • Write unusual articles using this partner's sources? Did access to this source create new opportunities for you in the Wikipedia community? If you have a unique story to share about your contributions, let us know and we can set up an opportunity for you to write a blog post about your work with one of our partner's resources.

Finally, we would greatly appreciate if you filled out this short survey. The survey helps us not only better serve you with facilitating this particular partnership, but also helps us discover what other partnerships and services the Wikipedia Library can offer.

Thank you. 20:36, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
