taurus reverts[edit]

Why are you reverting edits made to the Ford Taurus article back to your own version with no explanation as to why you are doing this? It seems like you are trying to own the article. Could you please explain why you reverted all these edits back to your version? Ejfetters 08:46, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unusual Adoption Request[edit]

Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.

Thank you!

Taurus cleanup[edit]

I see Taurus was liked ripped apart for featured article. I'd like to get together on it with you since you did a lot and rework the article and get it cleaned up. It seems a bit all over the place right now, and a big thing that needs some attention is its 27 images. I propose some things like removing a lot of images and infoboxes, creating a new page like "Ford Taurus models" and posting infoboxes and images of each model there to help make the article flow better. Its got potential but needs some work. Its a challenge but I'd like to help with it. IMO, things like an image to show grey bumpers and an image of a FFV model are totally redundant, I mean, we can imagine the color grey, and the FFV model appears no different than the regular model to the eye, so it doesn't need an image. Seems to be a lot of images to show every angle of the vehicle, again, I don't think its necessary. Things like the picture of the SHO's engine can be taken out and place in the Ford Engines page to show the engine there. The introduction article tries to sum up the entire history and would read better if it just introduced something like one of the best selling innovative family sedans ever created... then go on - don't need things in it like the end of production and bringing it back, that can be done in the generation subsections. I've seen an article, can't remember the car, that placed 2 images per generation and placed them in the infobox for the gen at the top and bottom of the box. Maybe like I can see a sedan, a wagon, and a SHO for each, but theres an awful lot here. I know the car has a huge history, but I think of it as would an encyclopedia have all these pictures in it. Just some ideas to throw around. I would take whatever gets done to the Sable article too, cuz it reads like the Taurus does as well. Ejfetters 22:17, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I just hate how this and all other articles, how the images will push the body of the next section way down, but leave the header way up and leave that gap, but I don't know how this can be avoided. Like i said, there was a car I looked at (page) where they would place like early Gen 1 image at top of infobox, and late gen at the bottom - maybe try this. I would also make sure all the images are the same size. Looks a lot better now though I think. Ejfetters 22:34, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Like the new page you made, but, just want you to know, the magazine scans or promo photos are almost sure to get marked for speedy deletion as they will ask you to replace them with free use images. Other than that, its a lot better now Ejfetters 21:29, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did you see my concern on its talk page? IFCAR 23:06, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That seems reasonable. The page link you can send them would be a former revision that included the photo. I wouldn't expect them to get back to you too quickly, though. IFCAR 23:46, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! :)[edit]

Thank you for your beautiful words and warm wishes on my birthday, dear friend! I took a well-deserved one-day wikibreak and spent it with my family and my friends... and actually had a beer after months of forced abstinence! :) Of course, there's no way I'd forget about you, so I saved a great, tasty piece of chocolate cake just for you - but sorry, no beer left! Again, thank you so much for taking the time to wish me well, and have a wonderful day, dear K-man! Love, Phaedriel - 08:07, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The warm and kind words you've gifted this old friend of yours here will never be forgotten, ever, my dear K... if one of us is blessed by this friendship, then that's surely me :) Lots of xxx, Sharon

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Astrobad.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Astrobad.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:39, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ford Taurus[edit]

Sorry, I am going to give up on this one. I tried helping, thinking it might have potential to be featured, or at least good, but it appears there are too many "owners" of this article that just get revert happy. I tried helping, but, I am afraid this article will never get better. If you want a suggestion - it requires a COMPLETE rewrite - but then it will just get reverted back again. The introduction is WAY too long, you don't need to sum up the car's whole history in the article. That is why they read the article. Alright, have fun, hope you get it better, I tried, sorry. Ejfetters 00:42, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Not saying I was upset at all. I tried to make some edits in the past, not just recently, and they get reverted. When I told you I was going to make some edits, you told me to let you know what I thought needed to be done and you would do it. I tried helping with the images, moving them around to make it flow better, but they immediately got reverted in the past. I guess you just don't see it, I just don't want to bother with it anymore, and I don't know why you are calling me sir, I have never been knighted, that I know of. I never said I didnt want my edits changed or modified, they dont get modified, the immediately get reverted. I know you want the article to become a featured article, but I just dont see what I can do to make it better without it getting reverted. It doesnt even get discussed in the talk page, it just becomes reverted immediately. Oh well, hope you can understand where I'm coming from and not just attack my position with rules and policies, which I am well aware of. Ejfetters 22:00, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Characters[edit]

Do you believe that they deserve to exist? If not, discussion is not required for anything. TTN 01:05, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going with the WP:BRD method, which is perfectly acceptable. For a discussion to happen, someone actually needs to disagree. When an article is primarily edited by anonymous users, a discussion is unlikely, so unless you actually feel that these are worthy (the topic, not just how long the article is), I ask that you don't bother with them. TTN 01:16, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you really shouldn't see it that way. BRD is to make it so things that will likely not receive discussion faster. Those will likely not receive discussion, so it is better to just redirect them. The information is in-universe fluff that needs to go anyways (see WP:FICT and WP:WAF). TTN 01:23, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
FICT requires the article to follow WAF (which is linked right in there). WAF requires real world information. The information on the character is in-universe cruft. TTN 01:31, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Dozer.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 20:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Taurus MT5.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Taurus MT5.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. Mentoring English students[edit]

Dont worry about being late.... the more the merrier! When you get a chance, put your name a a little information about yourself on the Mentors page Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Mentors There are a lot there but the Wikipedia-based part of the class does not begin until the beginning of Sept. A lot can happen in that time plus if I can get 2 mentors per group, that would rock as well. I will send reminders to all the mentors the week before the project starts. Fair use rationale for Image:Wiegert3.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Wiegert3.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Greetings Karrmann! Hope you are doing well. Anyhow, I wanted to thank you for the successful Lexus GA article nomination, back in the day. The article has come a long way since last year. I have also been working a lot on the Lexus LS and Mercedes-Benz S-Class articles. The former used to be a GA, but was delisted. Would you be willing to take a look at them? Your input would be much appreciated. Thanks. Enigma3542002 20:57, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OPEL SINTRA[edit]

Okay, man! Let's make a deal. Remember the Opel Sintra fight? Yeah, it's me. You told me that making the minivan look beter in front of the others was unfair. Well, okay. But, the things in the article make it look bad! Well, okay! Let's even it up. I promise you I won't change the article again under one circumstance- Remember the sentence in the article "The model also proved to be unreliable"? If I take that off and won't add anything again, will you be okay with it? Because if I take it off, the car will not look perfect nor horrible! And plus, there are more things that are bad, like "Many reviewers and customers found that the materials, fit and finish were below the usual Opel/Vauxhall quality" and "Britain's worst car". Deal? So, I'm waiting for a reply right here. Bye!

Karrmann, I've blocked User talk:216.95.15.132 for you (although he doesn't seem quite remorseful). Next time don't just clear the nonsense on his talk page; leave a note on an admin (preferably the one who blocked him) and I'll s-protect the page so he can't play with it anymore. However, I chose not to block User:99.224.49.238. I can understand your frustration but don't have a heading like "Don't Push Me" and you should at least put a little note explaining why those edits are not useful. I've responded at User talk:99.224.49.238. If he continues though, then report it again. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 21:14, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If it's a large number of anonymous users, instead of everyone playing whack-a-mole as they come and go, why not have the article semi-protected? Orphaned non-free media (Image:TTAClogo.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TTAClogo.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Australia's Naughtiest Home Videos, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Fair use rationale for Image:Vector.jpg[edit]

I have removed the image Image:115072850515510077.jpg from your sub-page User:Karrmann/Toyota Camry. Please be aware that images that are clamied as fair use have a restriction in location:

From the policy page Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria

Pre-Meiji Period: Use of Japanese era name in identifying disastrous events[edit]

Would you consider making a contribution to an exchange of views at either of the following:

As you know, Wikipedia:WikiProject Disaster management came up with entirely reasonable guidelines for naming articles about earthquakes, fires, typhoons, etc. However, the <<year>><<place> <<event>> format leaves no opportunity for conventional nengō which have been used in Japan since the eighth century (701-1945) -- as in "the Great Fire of Meireki" (1657) or for "the Hōei eruption of Mount Fuji" (1707).

In a purely intellectual sense, I do look forward to discovering how this exchange of views will develop; but I also have an ulterior motive. I hope to learn something about how better to argue in favor of a non-standard exception to conventional, consensus-driven, and ordinarily helpful wiki-standards such as this one. In my view, there does need to be some modest variation in the conventional paradigms for historical terms which have evolved in non-Western cultures -- no less in Wikipedia than elsewhere. I'm persuaded that, at least in the context of Japanese history before the reign of Emperor Meiji (1868-1912), some non-standard variations seem essential; but I'm not sure how best to present my reasoning to those who don't already agree with me. I know these first steps are inevitably awkward; but there you have it.

The newly-created 1703 Genroku earthquake article pushed just the right buttons for me. Obviously, these are questions that I'd been pondering for some time; and this became a convenient opportunity to move forward in a process of building a new kind of evolving consensus. --Ooperhoofd (talk) 18:02, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chrysler revert[edit]

You say that Chrysler is private when Daimler AG (a public company) owns about 20% of it - did they sell? Otherwise it's a joint venture, doesn't matter if the majority owner is private.Rupertslander (talk) 23:17, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware that the majority and controlling shareholder (Cerberus) is privately-held, but they are only ~80% owners of Chrysler. So obviously Chrysler is privately-controlled, but seeing as Daimler is still in the picture with a minority stake and they're publicly traded I don't see how, strictly speaking, Chrysler LLC could be described as being privately held - that to me implies that no stake or equity of the company is being traded publicly in any form wheras right now albeit to a limited extent it is (through Daimler).

Currently private company redirects to privately held company. None of the companies listed there are merely privately-controlled with Chrysler's ownership structure - companies like Cargill, Mars, Inc., Koch Industries etc. don't have some public company owning a one-fifth stake - their equity is not traded publicly through any parent company.

That is why for now, joint venture is a better description for Chrysler LLC. The fact that it is indeed privately-controlled can be explained in the intro.Rupertslander (talk) 02:41, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Came here after seeing the newest edits to Chrysler. I'd say Karrmann got it right here. I can find reports calling Chrysler 'private' - Forbes,NPR,Detroit News,theautochannel.com (this last one might be a Cerberus press release since its on lots of websites). Can't find any reports calling Chrysler a 'joint venture'. Doesn't ring true for me either - joint ventures are more like an equal partnership, which this ain't. In hopes of getting the opinions of the broader community I have posted my arguments onto the Chrysler talk page. I will do no further revisions to the article for now.Rupertslander (talk) 19:45, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Wiegertw8.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Wiegertw8.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 03:14, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks; that's not the first time I was told.[edit]

Thank you for that notice. I guess it's true; most if not all vandalizers just want attention; they want to strike terror and/or rage ito the hearts of just users, simply to prove to the world that they can do it. However, my threats to claw another user... User:Bloodgod-something - actually seemed to work with him. I told him, after he had vandalized User:Bongwarrior's userpage, that Bongwarrior is a Wikipedian friend of mine, and whenever someone or something I hold a friendship with, or are connected to in some way, gets threatened or hurt, I take out a vengeance on them. Then I wrote the following: (Peels off her glove and shows off her long, sharp nails), and mildly informed him of what would happen. I think the guy must have wet himself; there was genuine terror in his response to me! He asked me what he could do to get on my good side again, and I explained that all he had to do was promise never to vandalize a single page of any sorts in Wikipedia again, and I would not track him down and dish out the claws... anyway, I haven't heard anything about him vandalizing Wikipedia since. So it must have worked.

Then I decided that it would be much more convenient and time saving in future to simply write down about what I'll do to persistent vandalizers, on my userpage, and tell them to look at the section under "Vandalizers" to be informed about this horrific fate. Which is what I did with him. I actually have no idea yet if he did or not, or what he thinks, but hopefully it may have worked.

Anyway, as the title says, that's not the first time I was warned about "feeding the trolls", but I always like it when a user takes the time to give me a friendly notice like that. Thank you! Wilhelmina Will (talk) 06:49, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On the Ford Mustang‎ article: please do not continue to mark good faith edits as vandalism. I see other people have addressed this issue here in the past. It is uncivil, and it usually only escalates a situation. Please do not continue to do it, even if you believe it's "subtle" vandalism, unless someone is purposefully changing figures in an attempt to harm the encyclopedia. Vector W2 images[edit]

I recently came across the article on the Vector W2 and noticed the two images attached in the gallery which you uploaded two years ago. The licensing information seems quite sketchy and poorly explained. Is permission from the original photographer even on file? It seems to me that these images should be deleted as they really don't fall under Fair Use. Since there is an image of the full car from promotional material already used on the article under a Fair Use license, I would think that this more than fulfills the visual requirements for the article. The watermarks and logos don't help their case either.

I realize the images were uploaded long ago, and hopefully you'll agree that some mistakes were made with these photos back then. The359 (talk) 12:00, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:MITM Hal.JPG[edit]

Bull-Doser[edit]

I'd rather not have to be blunt, but your comment was uncalled for. First off, it just validates his behavior. Secondly, the first RFC (as TMH) ultimately must have worked, since his images are not of that painfully poor quality anymore. The next RFC died on the vine because of your incivility and lack of planning in the RFC process. There are three editors (including myself) currently considering putting an RFC together. I believe that a case can be made that will result in a positive outcome for the project. This is no longer about images, this is about Wikipedia guidelines. Action can be taken and enforced and I intend to pursue that if the others do.

Another point, and forgive me for saying this, but you might consider refraining from involvement in this RFC if it comes. As was suggested in the last RFC, you ought to be detached from the process, considering the prior incidents. This isn't intended as a criticism, I say this because I would like to be discussing the topic at hand, not past issues. --Sable232 (talk) 05:42, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just went there, and they didn't have the redesigned Cadillac CTS-V and facelifted Cadillac XLR in the show. Bad news is, I forgot to take a few car pictures, such as the Lexus IS convertible (there are IS convertible images in the Wikimedia Commons). I'm curious why you thought it a good idea to completely remove my photo of Tom Arnold, taken in 2007, and that was centered (albeit not the most flattering) and replace it with one that is almost five years old (May 2004) and looks bizarre given how it is cut? Further, if you felt the far older one you put up is better, why not just move the old lead into the body of the article, which is the correct thing to do on an article with virtually no other images? --David Shankbone 16:54, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Photo and article request[edit]

For some time, National Register of Historic Places listings in Detroit, Michigan has had an article and picture for every single property given on this list. This is an extremely rare status — maybe half a dozen other lists nationwide have all pictures (all of which have far fewer properties on the list), and I don't think that any of them have an article on each site. However, another site just got added to the list. Would you be willing/able to contribute at least a picture, and (if possible) an article, for the River Terrace Apartments? The address is 7700 E. Jefferson Ave., along the river east of downtown and perhaps ¼ mile east of the bridge to Belle Island. If you go, you shouldn't have trouble finding the building, as it's rather prominent — here's what it looks like on Google Maps Street View.

If you're not familiar with the National Register of Historic Places enough to want to write an article, could you simply get a picture? Although I'm not from Michigan, and although it's been a few years since I was last in the Detroit area, I can find enough data for a stub on this site. Orphaned non-free media (File:Mousehunt.PNG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mousehunt.PNG.

Leno ratings[edit]

Sorry, but I removed your information again as it displays obvious bias. You seem intent on saying ratings have dropped every night, which is actually not the case. For example, the show on Thursday, March 18 drew more than the show on Tuesday, March 16. Therefore, your "theory" of losing ratings every night is invalid. Adopt-a-user reminder[edit]

Hello, I have completed a general cleanup of the adopter information page for the adopt-a-user project, located here. During my cleanup, I have removed several inactive and retired users. In order to provide interested adoptees with an easy location to find adopters, it is essential that the page be up-to-date with the latest information possible. Thus:

  • If you are no longer interested in being an adopter, please remove yourself from the list.
  • If you are still interested, please check the list to see if any information needs to be updated or added - especially your availability. Thank you.
  • You are receiving this message because you are listed as an adopter here.

An update from adopt a user[edit]

Hi there Karrmann! You may be wondering, what have I done to sound the alarm this time? Nothing. I'm messaging you in regards to the adopt-a-user program, which currently has a backlog of users wishing to be adopted. This doesn't make much sense, as we have a considerable list of users offer adoption, so there shouldn't be any backlog. I've begun to eliminate this backlog myself through a matching program, but I need your help to make it work. Of course, adoptees and adopters don't have to go through there, but I believe it helps eliminate the backlog because someone is actively matching pairs.

On the list of adopters, I have modified the middle column to say "Interests." It's easier working with other users that have similar interests, so if it's not too much to ask, could you add your interests in the middle column? For example, if I was interested in hurricanes, computers, business, and ... reptiles? I would place those in the middle column. Counter-vandalism and the like can also be included (maintenance should be used as the general term). The more interests, the better, since adoptees can learn more about you and choose the one they feel most comfortable working with. The information about when you're most active and other stuff can go into the "Notes" section to the right.

Finally, I've gone around and asked adoptees (and will in the future) to fill in a short survey so adopters can take the initiative and contact users they feel comfortable working with. We all know that most adoptees just place the adopt me template on their user page and leave it - so it's up to us to approach them and offer adoption. So, please take a look at the survey, adopt those that fit your interests, and maybe watchlist it so you can see the interests of adoptees and adopt one that fits your interests in the future.

Once again, thank you for participating in the adopt-a-user program! If you wish to respond to this post, please message me on my talk page.

File permission problem with File:Vector-92518.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Vector-92518.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 15:11, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Karrmann. I'm leaving you this message because you have previously been involved as an adopter with Wikipedia's Adopt-a-user program. A clean-up of this program is currently underway, and as part of the process I am trying to find out who is and isn't still interested in remaining an adopter.

If you would prefer not to be part of the adoption program anymore, you need do nothing; when the overhaul of the project is completed your name will be removed from the list of active adopters. However, if you have current adoptees, an active adoption school or an interest in adopting in the near future, then please let us know by signing here.

If you want to remain in the project and can currently take on more adoptees, there is a serious backlog at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user; it would be enormously helpful if you could take on one or two of the users there. Please do keep an eye on the project for upcoming changes, we could use your opinions and your help! Yunshui  09:07, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Taurus2.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Taurus2.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  ★  Bigr Tex 22:26, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
