File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Telestream-logo-masthead.gif[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Telestream-logo-masthead.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 00:37, 18 May 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 00:37, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Listmania requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. File copyright problem with File:Cwc logo.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Cwc logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 19:13, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Logo-sdl-tridion.gif[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Logo-sdl-tridion.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hello, Jahub. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Blitz (software), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Danrok (talk) 09:33, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Blitz logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Blitz logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:45, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Jahub. Thanks for joining the discussion at Talk:Medallia. In your recent edits to Medallia, you've repeatedly removed maintenance templates. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Hi Ronz, I removed external links and replaced references with more notable ones to correct the problem noted in your maintenance template. Thank you for your feedback in making this page less promotional and more noteworthy. Jahub
Thanks for responding.
I'm concerned that you have trouble understanding what's been written, to the point where I wonder if you are fluent in English. Regardless, you need to participate in the talk page discussions and perhaps hold off on any edits. Most definitely hold off on the removal of any templates.
Why are you removing the external link again? You don't recall you removed it earlier, and didn't notice that I restored it, citing why it belongs [4]?
While I commend your looking for new sources, the customthink.com article is actually worse than what was previously there [5], and I'm concerned that the other source you added doesn't actually verify the information.
As I pointed out on the article's talk page, the WSJ reference is pretty good, and a rewrite of the article primarily from that source would be the proper way to address the problems with the article, with the addition of identifying and clearly stating why the company is notable. --Ronz (talk) 01:55, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Blitz, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 180 days. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

A tag has been placed on File:Sanju bansal2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 04:58, 3 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Saw that you added some sources. The kind of deletion that I proposed is a consensus/discussion based deletion. I would encourage you to go to the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ivalua and explain why you think the page should be kept (and can reference your new sources). Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 19:43, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Saw that you commented on the Article for Deletion page. Wikipedia has a bunch of wacky ways of doing things and some of those are around how to comment on those kind of pages. In general you'll want to put '''Keep''', '''Delete''', or '''Comment''' in front of what you say. I'm guessing that you're arguing for Keep. What's going to happen here is that anyone who wants can participation in the discussion about the article. Once a consensus has been reached the page will be kept or deleted. By putting Keep, Delete, or Comment in front of what you say the person who closes the discussion can gain a better idea of what the participants think. Hope that makes sense. Feel free to ask questions if I can be of help either by pinging me or by leaving a comment on my talk page. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 21:48, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Innovit[edit]

Hello Jahub,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Innovit for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Vexations (talk) 19:53, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Jahub. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Innovit, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:10, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

unsolicited advice[edit]

When writing an article, I find it helpful to start with the sources. I would suggest that if you want to be successful with an article about Innovit you start by collecting a set of sources, prune them carefully and judiciously with the guidelines from WP:NCORP, summarize what those sources say and then edit that to a coherent article. Finding sources for things you know to be true tends to be much more challenging and often leads to over-reliance on low-quality sources. Vexations (talk) 22:53, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vexations, Thanks for the advice. Those are great points. In the case of Innovit, there are some good sources out there I collected, which I've left in for the article in the Sandbox and have removed the ones that may be construed as more promotional or contributed pieces. The remaining content makes for a more synthesized entry, but one that should still interest those in the industry without being promotional. Jahub (talk) 23:05, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Innovit[edit]

Hi, I'm Vexations. Jahub, thanks for creating Innovit!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This does not meet the notability requirements per WP:NCORP

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Vexations (talk) 03:17, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vexations, Thanks for the feedback. I’ll work on those edits to improve the page and to meet Wikipedia guidelines. Jahub (talk) 04:07, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Innovit for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Innovit is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Innovit until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 22:15, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Geoffrey, I have improved the Innovit article by adding more reliable sources to address the concerns raised in the discussion. Please let me know if there are additional concerns, or if the flag can be removed. Thanks. Jahub (talk) 17:24, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Innovit, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. A tag has been placed on Nassim Haramein, Resonance Science Foundation, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Hi Diannaa, I no longer see the button to contest this deletion. I am strictly looking to improve this page and have it meet Wikipedia guidelines. While the page was flagged for reading like other biographies, I did strip all promotional language, so it would be its own entity and would read like an encyclopedic entry. I also backed up the information with reputable sources. I am hopeful that you will agree with my position and permit further work to be done on this page so it meets Wikipedia guidelines and can remain on the site without removal or flags. Thanks. A tag has been placed on Connected Universe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

A tag has been placed on ARK Crystal LLC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Hello Jahub,
I got your email, but I think you sent it to the wrong person. I haven't done anything regarding ARC Crystal LLC, but can see why people might object to the article. 1st, please see WP:Crystal. This is not a topic that people like to joke about. Another problem is about the promotion of a business. There are lots of people who like to get free advertisements on Wikipedia and that's not allowed. In fact WP:NOADS are allowed but there are hundreds or even thousands of people always trying to get a free ad. I think you can see why many people would be skeptical about this business compared to others. Sorry, I couldn't help more. Smallbones(smalltalk) 23:21, 11 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Smallbones, thanks for responding to my email so promptly. I don't see how what you sent here with WP:Crystal and writing about "future history" applies to the ARK Crystal page. The nature of the company, ARK Crystal, is in actual crystals that are charged. Also, the ARK Crystal page on Wikipedia was written using no promotional language, so again not sure how WP:NOADS applies to the page. There are many companies doing similar business as ARK (like the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misfit_(company)#Partnerships example I noted in my email), yet those aren't flagged on Wikipedia, so what exactly makes ARK more "skeptical," as you put it? Thanks. Jahub (talk) 18:47, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

I've indefinitely blocked you for undisclosed paid editing, promotional editing, and for creating many pages and files that are deleted for various reasons, including copyright infringement. See WP:GAB for your appeal rights.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:32, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am writing in regard to getting the block lifted from my account. I feel I acted prudently and judiciously by reaching out several times to Wikipedia editors to seek further guidance on improving these recent pages to meet Wikipedia guidelines. I wrote these recent pages without any promotional language, and intended to present these subjects in a way that meets Wikipedia guidelines, backed by reputable publications as references. I'd also like you to consider the numerous pages I put up before these recently deleted ones that are still up on Wikipedia, showing that I generally have a history of credibility with the site. I am hopeful that you will agree with my position and will withdraw this block against my account. Thank you for your anticipated courtesy and cooperation in this matter.

Decline reason:

This does not address the undisclosed paid editing, only tangentially addresses the promotional editing, and again doesn't address the numerous other problems that saw your pages and files deleted. Huon (talk) 00:30, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
