It was actually a test edit that I accidentally labeled as vandalism and since you can't edit the title I couldn't change that, but still the test edit removed a entry so don't edit it, thanks. Wgolf (talk) 20:02, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"standard" (2019 EFL Championship play-off Final)[edit]

Hello. Just a quick note on your claim of what is "normal" on final articles. I've taken a number of these to GA and at least two to FA now, and unless the nationalities and positions are verifiable within the article itself, they can't be there. We can't rely on Wikipedia articles to verify claims, such as nationalities, because Wikipedia is not a reliable source. I'll take a look at the source you've added for the positions to see if that's RS, and if it's not, it'll go too I'm afraid. If it is reliable, then good news and perhaps it could be used in other such articles. Cheers for your understanding in not violating two of Wikipedia's core policies, i.e. WP:V and WP:RS. If you feel this needs further discussion after I've assessed the sources you've added, I suggest you take it to the talk page of the article so we can encourage a wider discussion to determine if the core policies are being met by your additions. Composition/song[edit]

You wrote on Song for My Father (song) that 'jazz compositions/standards with a parenthetical part in their article's title should use "composition" rather than "song"'. Why? Is that a policy? That composition/song has lyrics. EddieHugh (talk) 18:07, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comment. I think you'll find if you go listen to this track as it originally appeared on the Song for My Father LP, that it does NOT have any lyrics. Lyrics may have been added later, but that doesn't count because this composition lacked lyrics in its original form and therefore is not a "song". @User:Trainsandotherthings – uhhh... I was not the one who added the KKK thing to the lead; all I actually did was link to the "Exalted Cyclops" article. The mention of Byrd's former leadership in the KKK was already there and had been added by an earlier editor. Please look more carefully at what my edit actually constituted before you make accusations like this of "unproductive editing" or whatnot directed at me. I noticed this edit summary on a revert that you made on Tjin-A-Djie family, "Requires discussion first. You cannot just take down the deletion proposal unilaterally." You are wrong in your assertion. A PROD can be removed without any discussion and can be done unilaterally. Once an article has had a PROD placed on it, another one can not be placed on it ever. In the past year or so, many of your edits to musical artist infoboxes have not followed the template guidance nor WP guidelines and have been reverted. Some have involved adding unnecessary duplicated country names and linking of major geographical place names. As has been pointed out numerous times:

  • Omit the country if it does not differ from that specified at the field "birth_place" (Template:Infobox musical artist#death_place)
  • Do not link major examples of: countries (e.g., Brazil/Brazilian, China/Chinese) ... locations (e.g., New Delhi; New York City, or just New York if the city context is already clear; London, if the context rules out London, Ontario; Southeast Asia) (MOS:OVERLINK)
  • For geographic places specified with the name of the larger territorial unit following a comma, generally do not link the larger unit, e.g., if the city is linked, do not link the state and/or country (MOS:GEOLINK)

Additionally, it has been explained that if you are in disagreement, please raise your concerns on the template and MOS talk pages. Continuing to ignore the recommended practices will be reverted as disruptive edits, which could result in sanctions.
