I think since 2018 our community ban policy does not allow for snow closure. I personally do not see a IAR justification in the present circumstances given the discussion that lead to our current wording and would ask you to reverse so that it could be open for a minimum of 24 hours. Alternatively it could be argued that there are DS violations here which would let you impose this as an indvidual AE but I don't know about his awareness. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 01:18, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

I'm here for the same thing. Recommend you reopen and allow for 24 hours to pass. I've made the same mistake before, too, by the way, so welcome to the club. Regards, El_C 01:58, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Comment

Re Jill Phipps article: Apologies for my mis-reading of the result of which of two AfDs from off the Talk page header (the other one was speed-keep'd and the comment was underneath, a natural place to put a new entry chronologically). I do not, however, think the disruptive editing is over and think the ANI was closed prematurely. Though the problem appeared during an AfD week, it wasn't about the AfD and likely hasn't ended because the AfD is over. Their reverts may have affected the outcome of the AfD because the editor kept altering the page (affecting what others that might read during AfD week), but the disruptive editor wasn't participating in the AfD discussion, so their actions won't end with the AfD decision. I will return to ANI the moment they return (which will probably be tomorrow since I'm pretty sure they live on the opposite side of the planet to me; and that's why I was delaying 24 hours between my edits and notices to them). Your comment at ANI

There is not really any point to this comment except that I wanted to gripe a bit, so please feel free to ignore it.

I happened across your comment here and wanted to extend my thanks for noticing the issue. That example is not unique in their recent editing; for example, there are similarly pleasant comments directed at me here and here. (Not that I claim to have been particularly charming towards them, either.) --JBL (talk) 21:26, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Ava Bahram AfD

Hello, thank you for taking action today at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ava Bahram (2nd nomination). Given the nature of the debate that broke out during this AfD, and during the previous AfD for the same singer, I recommend the salt process to prevent another version of the article after which the same hubbub will happen again. Hijiri88 unblock request on UTRS

https://utrs-beta.wmflabs.org/appeal/33345 This has languished for a couple of weeks. No longer familiar with the many issues. Restore TPA? Carry to WP:AN? Cheers, --Deepfriedokra (talk) 11:38, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

  • @Deepfriedokra: I'd go with WP:AN. Black Kite (talk) 12:12, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
Sorry to stick my nose in: Deepfriedokra, according to Wikipedia:Arbitration_enforcement_log#Catflap08_and_Hijiri88, Hijiri88's talk page access was removed for one month on 17 June; unless I'm reading it wrong, I think TPA ought to have been restored already anyway. Having said that, I agree with Black Kite that an unblock request should probably be considered at AN anyway, given the nature of the block. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 12:15, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
Ah, scratch that last comment - I see that on Hijiri's talk page, Guerillero notes that while the first month of the talk page restriction is an arbitration enforcement, they are making it indefinite as a normal admin action. Partially-blocked user on vandalism spree

Hi there, I see you've got User:86.187.170.25 on a partial block, with no visible edit history earlier than today, so presumably redacted. They've just been on a vandalism spree over various articles and for some reason Twinkle isn't allowing me to lodge a report that they are vandalism-only. Would it be appropriate to widen the scope of their block? Mutt Lunker (talk) 23:34, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I've blocked 86.187.170.25 sitewide for one week for widespread vandalism. I hope this block can run concurrently with your six-month partial block for the Greta Thunberg pages for the range 86.187.128.0/17, Black Kite. Do you think that will work? If not, we'd better renew the Thunberg rangeblock when the short single IP block expires. Bishonen | tålk 00:52, 2 September 2020 (UTC).

Walter Elliot - something has gone wrong

When you moved Walter Elliot (Scottish politician) back to its existing title, somehow the talk page appears not have moved too, and is now at Walter Elliot (Unionist Party politician). This wouldn't bother me except that I attempted a request move on the Unionist MPs' articles but the misplaced talk page is causing the template to malfunction. Could you please look into this? GPinkerton (talk) 13:53, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Dear Black Kite, I have been harassed as an Islamophobe and was advised to get psychiatric help to heal my Islamophobia and I have reacted to this rather tolerant even after he confirmed at least the Islamophobe accusation (I didn't addresss the psychiatric help issue, as I stopped reading at Islamophobe). But I've told the editor others might not be as tolerant as me. Now an other editor has also objected to me being treated this way, and also showed me the psychiatric help part, and AleviQizilbash again confirmed that he viewed me and as well as the other editor as an Islamophobe and also advised us to get psychiatric help as Islamophobia is a psychiatric illness according to Psychiatrictimes... Maybe the editor needs someone else (I thought maybe a Sysop was good for this) to explain him that making such accusations is not really appreciated on Wikipedia.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 20:20, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

I recognize the name Black Kite, as they were very helpful to me when I was working on a disambiguation page. I hope we are not leaning too hard on Black Kite individually (please, let us know if this concern should just be brought to a noticeboard or similar), but I just wanted to add my two cents that if User:AleviQizilbash is this belligerent after basically a month of serious editing, they are not a good fit for Wikipedia. - AppleBsTime (talk) 19:29, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
I've read WP:Harassment and found underneath Wikipedia:Administrators willing to make difficult blocks where Admin Black Kite is included.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 20:44, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
@Paradise Chronicle and AppleBsTime: I have given them a final warning on this one. It's not acceptable, but hopefully they will desist now. Black Kite (talk) 22:49, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
Ok , I desist , but you also should warn user Paradise Chronicle that reverting good-faith actions of other editors can also be disruptive and may lead to the reverter being temporarily blocked from editing. as Wikipedia rules of reverting here says https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Reverting She kept reverting my editions and removing my sources and links over 5 times then cited this reason of " Yazidis don't like Muslims much " as an excuse to her behavior which violates the rules of reverting User:AleviQizilbash 17 September 2020 (UTC)
Hi there, AleviQizilbash tried to include that the "Muslim" Sheikh Adi was buried in a tomb in Lalish and that this Tomb of a muslim is "currently" venerated by the Yazidi...and include I don't know how many times in article that he is a muslim at Lalish. This are now really tough edits after the Yazidi have just suffered greatly under ISIS while Muslims also ordered to unearth Sheikh Adis corpse and burn it. That he is known for Islam is still not really sourced to my satisfaction, but I leave it until someone else removes it. You have already encountered opposition to your Muslim portrayal of Sheikh Adi just minutes ago, which you reverted with the edit summary reverting Vandalism. I hope you still see through, Black Kite.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 21:56, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
Then too, I was fairly tolerant, and Black Kite as well, to the accusations of Islamophobe and getting Psychiatric help by AleviQizilbash to two separate editors. If you give me a warning AleviQizilbash at least deserves a block for a while.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 22:23, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
I've backed up my editing about him being Muslim with more than 6 sources , books , newspapers and academic papers in English , Arabic and German , you kept reverting and deleting all of the sources , you can't engage in editing warring just because you aren't satisfied with a fact ! wikipedia rules here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:3RR says that your behaviors creates animosity between users , which already happened as Wikipedia rules warns , and you created a misunderstanding that caused me to accuse you of being Islamophobe , I desist now from this accusation but you should also desist from your warring reverting behavior that already has caused you before to be partially blocked from Tell Abyad before https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Paradise_Chronicle#Partial_block_from_Tell_Abyad , Sunni sufi Muslims as well as shia Muslims revere shrines in general while the ones who tried to destroy his shrine are ISIS , we can't use terror group as a representation of a doctrinal belief for an entire religion and it's followers ! this generalization is not academic and unfit for Encyclopedic work , also the recent vandalizing from the French IP which tried to remove the fact that sheikh adi was a Muslim and destroyed the coding of the article isn't an excuse to remove my backed up books and academic papers , we can't include our whims and desires as a source of citation in Wikipedia , your behavior of unjustified reverting and editing warring has led you before to be blocked then now again created a needless animosity between editors again ! as Wikipedia has warned here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:3RR I hope that you desist just like how I desist so we may start to cooperate together in a new fresh atmosphere User:AleviQizilbash 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Just to note, AleviQizilbash has reverted more than me, as another editor was involved in the dispute as well.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 08:23, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Reverting vandalism is not edit warring as mentioned here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:3RR#What_edit_warring_is while your way of reverting good-faith actions of other editors are disruptive and may lead to the reverter being temporarily blocked from editing. as Wikipedia rules here says https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Reverting and you have been partially blocked before on Tell Abyad over your same behavior https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Paradise_Chronicle#Partial_block_from_Tell_Abyad , reverting my editions that include academic books and academic papers in English , German and Arabic is vandalism and "Edit warring" which is unconstructive and creates animosity between editors as Wikipedia warns https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:3RR#What_edit_warring_is again I hope that you desist just like how I desist so we may start to cooperate together in a new fresh atmosphere User:AleviQizilbash 18 September 2020 (UTC)

Review on deletion of Seva in Tirumala

Hi Black Kite, I am believing the article Seva in Tirumala has its scope to be in Wiki. That article is not just a list of rituals. I also agree with one of the reviewer that article title may not be appropriate. But that doesn't need the entire article to be deleted. Even if it has to be deleted, it has a lot of content which is not even merged with main article Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala. This temple has more history and traditions that are covered widely in literature in many reliable publications. The info in main article is split into this sub article to make main article more readable. aggi007(talk) 09:39, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

  • Hi, you would need to write the article in draft and present it for mainspace via WP:AFC. Black Kite (talk) 18:42, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi ^_^ I need help

Hi friend ^_^ , I saw you're an administrator and would appreciate your help because I don't want to ask on Help Desk or Tea House because I have asked too many things on those places and I'm afraid of making others think I am making a way easy to not read things, but I can't find where to submit a draft, I have worked on the sandbox to submit a stub draft but can't find how to submit it. I have comprehension issues, even further in a foreign language, if you could direct me to a link which may be useful, I would rather thank you. Thank you in advance. --CoryGlee (talk) 20:51, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

EDIT, please, if you want me to ask me elsewhere be polite, I am sensitive to rudeness. --CoryGlee (talk) 20:57, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Hi, to submit a draft, you would normally go to WP:AFC. However, if you copy your article to a page called Draft:WhateverYourPageIsCalled (replacing the second part with the name of your page, of course!), and let me know, I can have a look at it. Black Kite (talk) 21:00, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for your kindness!, could you please check if it is okay?. I don't ask for review of course, just check if it is okaylly submitted. Hug. --CoryGlee (talk) 21:04, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
OK, I've submitted it - it's now at Draft:Figo Chan Ho-wun (Hong Kong activist) (you'd accidentally capitalised the first "i"). Black Kite (talk) 21:32, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
Many many thanks!, I must say that I had already submitted draft but it was an option on sandbox but it disappeared for this time. Thank you once more for your patience. Have a fascinating week. --CoryGlee (talk) 21:37, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi, you draftified this as closing admin per my request/consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Melbourne Tramcar Preservation Association. I finally got to working on it this weekend and wondered what you thought about moving it back to main space. I think it's a viable stub now and likely to get more attention from relevant edits there than in draftspace. Let me know either way, and thanks again for providing me access. StarM 21:06, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

reverted some material back into article from invalid source

Hey BlackKite, you recently reverted a portion of an edit I made citing that I "accidently" removed a section not sourced to the IBT, while you are correct, the error was actually not adding in the edit summary the additional material was solely cited from "The State Journal Register", which is also not listed as a reliable source. Since you reverted poorly sourced material, would you please self revert back to my original edit. MaximusEditor (talk) 00:22, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
