A tag has been placed on Category:United States Army non-commissioned officers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks![edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to [email protected], so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at [email protected].

Thank you!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mosaic theory of intelligence gathering, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Army Reserve (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Inmate firefighters redirect[edit]

Hi, I noticed you created the Inmate firefighter redirect. Is California the only place that uses inmates as firefighters? I just proposed creating similar redirects for "Incarcerated firefighters in California" or "Inmate firefighters in California" here: Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects and categories § Redirect request: Incarcerated firefighters in California. 143.244.37.100 (talk) 19:25, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Follow-up: It appears that the Arrendale State Prison in Georgia has an inmate firefighter program as well. So perhaps "Inmate firefighter" should be a disambiguation page or short article with links to other pages. 143.244.37.100 (talk) 19:30, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Vungule has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Can't find any sources significantly discussing this and there's not really a suitable merge/redirect target.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 01:55, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Everybody (Logic album) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Reconquête (political party)[edit]

Not sure what you were going for with this edit at Reconquête (political party), but I had to undo it. The only effect it had was to wipe out the previously correct language link in the left sidebar to the corresponding article on French Wikipedia, and replace it with an incorrect link. I imagine you were trying to do something beneficial, but I can't figure out what that might have been. If you need help with a specific editing question, try the WP:Help desk, or feel free to contact me on my Talk page, any time (in French, if it's easier for you). Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 21:54, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Mathglot: I didn't replace anything. I added a (correct) link to fr:. Apokrif (talk) 05:11, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mathglot: I eventually made a better interwiki link with the redirect page I just saw was already existing on fr:. Anyway you should not have reverted. Apokrif (talk) 05:39, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) You misunderstand, I think. Yes, you added some text to the bottom of the page, namely this text:
[[fr:Éric Zemmour#Meeting de Villepinte et création de Reconquête]]
but it doesn't come out as a link in the article; instead, it adds a link to the language sidebar on the left, which contains the language links provided by Wikidata. The use of interwikis was replaced back in 2015 or so, and are now managed by Wikidata. There is currently no article about the political party Reconquête at French Wikipedia. Currently, fr:Reconquête is a disambig page, and the existing political party redirect Reconquête (parti politique) is not on it—but it ought to be; perhaps you could add it, as a start.
I've reverted again. What are you trying to do? If you are trying to add an External link, articles on foreign Wikipedias are generally not appropriate there. You could use template {{Further ill}} containing your link at the top of one of the sections in the English article, probably under section "Launch" would be best. If you are trying to add an interwiki, that should be added through Wikidata, and then it will come out on the language bar automatically; if you're not sure how to do that, edit the existing redirect at French Wikipedia and link it to the English article Reconquête (political party) through Wikidata; or I can do it for you, as long as I understand what it is you are trying to do. Does this help any? Mathglot (talk) 05:40, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mathglot: "it adds a link to the language sidebar on the left"
Of course: that's the point!
"The use of interwikis was replaced back in 2015 or so, and are now managed by Wikidata."
Not always: we still use interwiki links in the article wikicode when there is no relevant page (only a relevant section) on the target Wkipedia.
"There is currently no article about the political party Reconquête at French Wikipedia."
There is a fr:Reconquête_(parti_politique), a redirect page which is now used for the interwiki link.
Apokrif (talk) 05:54, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The wikidata link has been added, by you, I presume, while we've been talking, and now correctly points to the French redirect which takes you to the correct place until they end up turning the redirect into an article at fr-wiki, and then will continue to point to the right place (i.e., the article). That's the right way to do it, and the en-wiki article itself no longer needs an interwiki, so the matter is now resolved. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 06:30, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Pájaro verde requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Notice

The article François Durpaire has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Fram (talk) 10:08, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on François Durpaire requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ~ GB fan 13:20, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"What do the quote symbols mean?"[edit]

Hi there,

When quote symbols are present, it usually mean that it's quoting what the citation at the end of the sentence or paragraph says, therefore the {{clarify}} tag is not really needed and just confuse the reader or the editor.

If you feel the quote should be better attributed, feel free to do it with the informations present in the citation or use {{attribution needed}} instead.

As for quotes with no citation, use {{citation needed}} ([1]) or {{clarify}} ([2]) depending on the context.

Regards. Thibaut (talk) 12:59, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The documentation of {{Attribution needed}} also mentions:
"Avoid "drive-by tagging" and "tag bombing". It is much more constructive to edit an article to resolve a problem than it is to just leave a tag. Only tag if a resolution to the problem is not apparent."
Please keep that in mind.
Regards. Thibaut (talk) 13:15, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Lasu, Khuzestan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
