Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing inappropriate pages, such as Public holidays in the Republic of Molossia, is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Home Is Where I Hang My Towel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

A tag has been placed on File:Jeralean Talley.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Hello, Childishbeat. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Free McBoot, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. —swpbT 17:55, 9 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Toy Story 2: Operation Rescue Woody requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Speedy deletion nomination of V.Smile Art Studio

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged V.Smile Art Studio for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

The main article space is supposed to be for complete articles which meet Wikipedia standards, not a staging area for article construction. The article Wacky Race on Jumpin' Bean Island has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no indication of WP:notability. Unsourced.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 17:07, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:03, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Making the Grade.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Making the Grade.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Bertaut (talk) 00:58, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop making pointless redirects to every month of every year

[edit]

Please stop making pointless redirects to every month in every year. These just clog up legitimate search results, and simply make it harder for people to find stuff.

Anyone wanting to find something that happened in July of 1861 doesn't need much brainpower to scroll down to that month on that page. They certainly don't need a pointless redirect from you to July 1861 to find it. What on earth is your rationale for doing this? And please don't make any more until you explain your reasoning. Nick Moyes (talk) 14:50, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

More pointless redirects - you really need to stop this!

[edit]

You are still making utterly pointless and trivial redirects for absolutely good reason. You really need to stop this and do something worthwhile on Wikipedia. Reasonable and expected typographical errors for major topics might be ok, but here are some of the ridiculous redirects you've made recenty. Do not make any more like this - they're pointless and this is becoming disruptive.

You really need to stop making pointless WP:REDIRECTS, now!

[edit]

It's not getting through to you is it? (See here and here, lest you've forgotten).

You are still continuing with seemingly pointless and unwarranted creations of utterly trivial WP:REDIRECTS - in the latest instance, for non-notable animators and production staff listed (but not cited) in fancruft-filled articles like Meta Runner, together with different spellings of some of these folks' names. It is obsessive to the point of being disruptive, in my view, and some of it is going to take some clearing up.

Example: David JG Doyle and David J.G. Doyle - both apparently minor voice actors in that animation series, but no citations in the article even to verify that fact. Just look at them all!

I was minded to administer a short editing block on your account for ignoring my earlier requests and to stop you making any more of these unnecessary petty redirects. However, I'm first going to take advice from my colleagues, lest I'm over-reacting, and am happy to be told by a fellow admin that I'm fussing over nothing. Personally, I feel you are just bloating this encyclopaedia with unwanted and unnecessary redirects to non-notable people of no encyclopaedic value whatsoever, and which anyone with an ounce of common sense would have been able to find more effectively just by searching for their names using our search box - and probably finding more mentions of them hidden away in one or two articles. Are you planning to go through every Wikipedia article and link to every name of every person ever linked in each one, no matter how trivial they are? No, this has to end. In the meantime, just stop with the petty redirect creation please. Treat this as a final warning, but I want to assume good faith, and to ensure that I am right in giving you this warning, so I will not act if you do still create one or two more of them unless some of my colleagues first agree with my concerns over what I regard as your ridiculous editing behaviour. So, I'm pinging both Hoary and Rosguill who I note have both edited at Meta Runner recently and hope that they can chip in with some advice and guidance here - both to you, and, indeed, to me. Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 22:30, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Moyes, thanks for the ping. I agree that the redirect creations are excessive and mostly pointless. I didn't raise the issue myself because it seemed like it would be more trouble to complain about than to just ignore, and the majority of the redirects, while not beneficial, seemed harmless. signed, Rosguill talk 22:50, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Childishbeat, Nudrat Afza is an article that I created. If I had good reason to think that people would get her name backwards, I'd provide a redirect from "Afza Nudrat". But I don't have any reason to think that they would, so I don't provide it. Let's suppose somebody did think that her name was "Afza Nudrat". Type that into the search box: what do you get? Now suppose that somebody knew it was "Nudrat Afza" but omitted to capitalize the "A". Type "Nudrat afza" into the search box: what do you get? I could have made redirects but I didn't. Most imaginable redirects are worthless, and redirects aren't dirt cheap. And yes, among the worthless kinds of redirect are those from the names of people who don't merit their own articles to articles that say very little about those people that's verifiable. -- Hoary (talk) 23:37, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to go easier on creating redirects with how I was doing it, and I thought I was. Just saying.Childishbeat (talk) 09:03, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any sort of conflict of interest with Vyond? Because at this point I think I've gone through over 100 redirects pointing to that page. signed, Rosguill talk 18:04, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New Years Resolution: let's work together to delete these redirects

[edit]

Hi there. I hope you had a pleasant seasonal break from Wikipedia? I'd like to suggest a way for you and me to work to clean up and resolve the problem with the myriads of unwanted redirects you created since October 2020. It seems unfair to expect a host of other editors have a protracted redirect discussion for each on of them, so I'd like you to work through them all for us, and to place a 'speedy deletion' request on them all. (You can keep those tiny handful where an alternative name word is included in the lead paragraph, but I only want to see ONE version with the correct spelling, not multiple alternatives.) Any redirect to a minor animator or cameraman in one film will, as I explained above, prevent another user from finding all the articles where that name appears. I know you felt you were doing it for the right reasons, but I hope you've come to appreciate that the 'help' is actually more of a hindrance in most cases.

To flag a page you've created for 'Speedy Deletion' do that by adding this code to the top of each page: {{Db-u1}}. It will place a 'user request' for deletion on each one, and you can ping me and I or another admin will go through and remove them for you. To start you off, here are 82 redirects you made to Vyond. I would expect no more than three or four would merit retention, but you are welcome to justify which ones you want to keep if you aren't sure if it's OK.

Then I would like you to go through and flag for deletion all the month and year redirects you made. As I explained, these just bulk out genuine worthy redirects and render searching for such pages much more awkward.

Here is a full list of all your page creations for you to work through.

I look forward to hearing from you. Happy New Year, Nick Moyes (talk) 12:43, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's pretty neat if I add the speedy deletion template to a page, it goes off the list of redirects, which make the job easier, as I don't have to remember which ones I've already done this with and go through them. Childishbeat (talk) 16:53, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for appreciating this is a good way forward. I saw you tried to test it out by placing the template on a few redirects, and that Onel5969 reverted them. I must apologise to you if I wasn't clear enough above, but what I'm asking you to do is only to put up for deletion the Redirects that you, personally, created. It's true, that other redirects should go through a WP:RFD discussion, but that you - as the creator - can place the {{Db-u1}} template on the ones you made. I, or another admin, can then delete them for you. If you preview the page before publishing changes and see a big red warning line saying you weren't the creator, then please don't go ahead and publish that. I certainly wasn't saying that all redirects to Vyond should be deleted, but the ones to minor individuals or alternative spellings that you made are the types I'd like to work with you on removing. I also accept that there may be some merit in a small handful of the redirects you've made, but I think the majority are not necessary. Ping me if you have problems, by all means. Nick Moyes (talk) 19:41, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I knew. I thought of which redirects to remove, and only chose my own, mostly ones with alternate lowercase capitalizations for Vyond, and the Draft: pages for Meta Runner. I didn't delete the ones for minor indivduals, as I didn't want to do that. Childishbeat (talk) 22:29, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. We'll get there. Maybe your plan for 2021 could be to find articles to make more substantive improvements on. Take care. Nick Moyes (talk) 00:58, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Vlak (video game) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable freeware game. No other sources online, and Czech WP does not have additional information/sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. [edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:24, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Baby Sisters moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Baby Sisters, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:37, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cut-and-paste moves

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give List of Imagine video games a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.

I've already handled this case for you, so there's nothing else you need to do, but to note for the future. * Pppery * it has begun... 00:35, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
