Reverted abbreviation edit[edit]

Hi Quasar, (and nice to meet you :))

You reverted my correction of an incorrect abbreviation because "Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, List of business and finance abbreviations, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Quasar G t - c 19:28, 19 April 2017 (UTC)"

I did provide a source, which is not incredibly reliable, however is waaaaay more reliable than the source that the previous abbreviation had (which is... none :D). I will make the revision again and if you still think that it is incorrect, please explain in more detail why the source I cited is less reliable than no source at all.

All the best! Grigor G (talk) 23:08, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Giodarno Bruno[edit]

You made a mistake in changing my edit to the page Giodarno Bruno. You need to change them back and do some research so you know what you're talking about. 73.57.35.183 (talk) 22:38, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've never edited that page, is it sound you mean? Quasar G t - c 22:55, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What isn't reliable about the Manchester Evening News? It's the news-source most local to the bombing. and then there's this news story and this. At the very least the injuries should be 59+ since the older sources state 59 and the more recent ones mention 120 injured. Shearonink (talk) 16:50, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Shearonink: just because it's most local, doesn't mean it's most reliable, as it is more open to speculation. Sources that we know to be reliable, such as BBC and the Guardian, are still saying 59. No doubt this figure will be updated in due course. Quasar G t - c 16:57, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated the infobox to 59+ injured to show that reliable sources differ. Shearonink (talk) 16:58, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong page[edit]

I think you left this on the wrong page – you didn't revert my (quite minor) edits. Esszet (talk) 17:09, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, the message was meant for another user. My bad. Quasar G t - c 17:16, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I am notifying interested projects and editors that I've listed Abu Eesa Niamatullah for discussion at AfD, and you were listed on the revision history page.

I invite you to contribute to the discussion. Mujaddouda (talk) 23:36, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly both yourself, and others like Mr.hmmm are more interested in censorship, than concise information. As such, I will be reporting this behaviour, and requesting protected status for the page, so that the current distro feud can die down, and hopefully this page can be a useful resource for the community, rather than an echo-chamber for a few dedicated fans of pfSense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peter.dolkens (talkcontribs) 22:51, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Penaltier[edit]

Hello Quasar G.. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Penaltier, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is no indication that Sean Ago or someone they know made this up, not eligible for A11. Thank you. ~ GB fan 00:34, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@GB fan: I found no mention whatsoever in sources, and have never heard the term used. Not sure what this word could be, if not made up by the article's creator. Thanks — Quasar G. 00:39, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What you found or didn't find means nothing when it comes to WP:A11. It requires that the article "plainly indicates that the subject was invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally" The article does not plainly indicate that. ~ GB fan 00:48, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@GB fan: ah, very well. Thanks for clarifying that. — Quasar G. 07:34, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please see there. --Sean Ago (talk) 11:52, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sean Ago, is 'penaltier' actually a word in English? You seem to have coined a neologism, that's all. — Quasar G. 11:54, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Penaltier is the translation of italian rigorista. --Sean Ago (talk) 12:04, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Sean Ago: I'm afraid you will have to use a more mainstream name, since no one uses the word penaltier. Maybe something like 'list of footballers most successful at penalty shootout'? — Quasar G. 12:18, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I red in this terms: Penalty : Rigore = Penaltier : Rigorista. But if most of users choose the deletion, I will not protest. --Sean Ago (talk) 12:27, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sean Ago deletion may not be necessary, just renaming. What is the article actually about? Is it going to be a list of footballers who are proficient at penalty shootout? That's a niche that needs filling, really. — Quasar G. 13:10, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I need more time to work on it, in order to make clear the meaning. I don't want to create a list. --Sean Ago (talk) 13:17, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Sean Ago: I've moved it to user:Sean Ago/Penaltier so you can work on it. Just move it to the mainspace when its complete. — Quasar G. 13:21, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the voice I think complete. --Sean Ago (talk) 18:14, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

03:36:29, 7 June 2017 review of submission by Salwazain[edit]

I have been asked again and again about the notability of the person I am writing an article on. He is from India and many news and press releases are in Urdu and Hindi, would that serve as good references?

Regarding his educational qualifications, I can get scanned copy of his certificates. Would it be possible for you to tell me which part is acceptable and which is not? So that I only use that part of the article for now?

Rollback[edit]

Please do not use rollback to undo good faith edits, such as those of User:Enredados at Princess Mako of Akishino. DrKay (talk) 17:17, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DrKay, that was actually Twinkle I used, but I realise I should've clicked the AGF button. Thanks for the reminder — Quasar G. 19:31, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jon Ossoff Picture[edit]

On the Jon Ossoff wikipedia page the photo in the inbox is blurry. I have the permission of the copyright holder to put a more professional photo in its place. I see others tried and you denied the request How do I put a copyright picture, with the owners permission, in its place?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Ossoff — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.7.206.160 (talk) 21:22, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The policy you are looking for is on Wikimedia Commons, not here. As far as I can tell, if an image is freely licensed (see the policy here) then it can be uploaded to commons. Use the upload wizard to upload a picture, then put in the relevant copyright information. Drop me another message here if that works, and I will insert the image into the article. — Quasar G. 19:24, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Jack Letts[edit]

Hi, I'm Chris troutman. Quasar G., thanks for creating Jack Letts!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. I doubt this subject passes WP:BLP1E. I have concerns about WP:NOTNEWS, too.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Chris Troutman (talk) 18:46, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article was in no way written in a promotional tone, however due to your arrogant behavior and edit warring I have decided not to include some general information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiexplorer13 (talkcontribs) 13:55, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

AFDs for TV episodes[edit]

Hi there. I noticed you nominated a number of TV episodes for deletion, so I was wondering: Are aware that per WP:ATD-R you are allowed to simply redirect them to the appropriate episode list without having to go through AFD? Regards SoWhy 07:06, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@SoWhy: I guess I could've been bold, but I wanted to establish consensus properly as I knew the episodes were on the brink of meeting notability standards (as seen by WP:Articles for deletion/Steven the Sword Fighter). Thanks for reminding me of ATD-R though; maybe in future I will be bolder. — Quasar G. 10:36, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Malherbe[edit]

Hello, Obviously, I did not create the "Malherbe (surname)" page. It is a spin off from the original "Malherbe" disambiguation page. The two pages that are the result of the change ("Malherbe" + "Malherbe (surname)") are not as comprehensive as the original single disambiguation page. Why some elements were removed? So the best way is delete the new "Malherbe (surname)" (I cannot do it) and revert to the old "Malherbe"... The interest of a single disambiguation page is evident when one looks at the schools, institutions, FC clubs, prizes, discoveries that are related to people in the list of surnames. that is lost with the two pages.

Hi Douargwenn. It seems that the relevant policy here is WP:NAMELIST (as stated at Talk:Malherbe), which recommends using a separate article for surnames rather than listing them all at the disambiguation page. Having two separate pages will not be an inconvenience for readers; if they want to find a person with the name Malherbe, it is obvious to click on Malherbe (surname). Please do not make any more reverts without first discussing the issue. Thanks — Quasar G. 16:26, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Letts[edit]

Thank you for your comments on my attempts to improve your article on Jack Letts. You have seemed unwilling to accept more factual interpretations of media articles, and are unaware of several other sources. The corrections I have now made are legitimate (eg. you misinterpreted and misrepresented the Metro article about Letts being captured in Raqqa). I have now referenced Letts' statements about why he went to Syria and what he saw there - all of which is in the public domain and of public interest. Your interpretation of some media articles is incorrect and you have confused allegations with fact. You also have limited information on the court proceedings, so I have corrected this as well. You are correct, however, in that all we have to build Wikipedia articles is the media and what is available in the public domain, but we must also interpret these correctly and not present allegations as fact if Wikipedia is to be considered a reliable source of information. Thank you for you work on this article. VG — Preceding unsigned comment added by Veritasgreen (talkcontribs) 04:04, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I have proposed the Jack Letts article for deletion. Please don't be offended. I can see it as balanced as possible. But he is not a noteworthy figure in any way. As his motives in Syria are entirely unvalidated either way (he is neither famous nor infamous) as there have been no third party sources which have been able to attribute either any specific humanitarian work or terrorist activities to him. Simply being in the news is not enough reason to have a wikipedia page. --Davetb (talk) 21:08, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Salman Shah[edit]

Hey I noriced that you made a change to my edit about Salman Shah's death and I would like to know why as the information is correct and whether it is because you do not want anyone else rather than yourself to do the edit? MissWiki000 (talk) 09:05, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @MissWiki000:, on Wikipedia we require that all information be supported by reliable sources, as required by the second of WP's five pillars. Your edit contained no references, so I had to remove it. — Quasar G. 09:11, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Heads up. The protection is over and the latest SPA has appeared to add OPNsense. Did you ever open the SPI you mentioned here [1]? OPNsense has been deleted so many times that it has been salted. I have no opinion on the distribution myself, but anyone wanting to create the article now will have to write it as a draft and get it approved before it can be moved to article space. Meters (talk) 05:09, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Meters, nothing much came of the SPI. We most likely have a case of meatpuppetry here, rather than sockpuppetry, but I will reopen the investigation with the new SPA. Thanks for letting me know about that — Quasar G. 15:58, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Meters and @Quasar G. as you noticed the latest SPA listed you under COI to make his case against me. He's been harassing everyone since his arrival. If it continues I intend to report him.--Mr.hmm (talk) 12:44, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Update to the situation, the main developer from OPNsense has appeared after long time to defend his meat puppet account, ComputerRick. I have reported all of it to administrators. Hopefully their abuse comes to end now.--Mr.hmm (talk) 13:45, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
