Link to Spouse for Nayib Bukele[edit]

The link to his spouse Gabriela under the Personal Details section is incorrect. It takes you to a Venezuelan Gabriela that has worked in film directing. I’m new to this so I don’t know how to edit that. DKS81 (talk) 12:53, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Expulsion from FMLN[edit]

I don't know anything about the particulars of this, but this segment: "He challenged these Acts from FMLN that were unethical and corrupt, illuminating much of the wrongdoing that FMLN had done over the years, including acts from former president Funes." clearly needs rewritten as it's clearly partisan and unsubstantiated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.185.161.120 (talk) 18:49, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Page protection[edit]

I see that a lot of different editors have been reverting vandalism on this page. Just a reminder, or a notification for those who may be unaware, that in this situation one can request intervention at WP:Requests for page protection. I have just done this myself, but I imagine it may come up in future as well. Sunrise (talk) 01:07, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

citation issues[edit]

There are a significant number of citations in this article which direct to a single page which appears to be a blog about El Salvador: https://elsalvadorinfo.net/nayib-bukele/ . I don't know quite how to address this. Are there no news media sources for any of these statements? --129.7.0.24 (talk) 19:26, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Source on Bukele from the Washington Post[edit]

This source ([1]) seems to be a rather long-form view of Bukele and his presidency from 2019, with initial positive reactions with US (and other) nation states, which have rather seemed to sour in recent months--but have remained positively received with much of the younger/milennial generation in El Salvador. Could usefully improve the article, but not quite sure where such a summary view might fit in. What do others think? N2e (talk) 22:27, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 9 July 2021[edit]

- Requesting update on information stating that "Buekele sent Ernesto Muyshondt on house arrest" because this is false information, that request was made by the Attorney generals office and it was filed in a Court, and not bukele himself as he doesnt have athority to "send" anyone on house arrest. He was also being charged for rataining social security contributions from employees that worked at the City Hall. This information is misleading Alvarengamae (talk) 06:02, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 11:12, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bukele's Twitter bio[edit]

Bukele has changed his Twitter bio to "Dictador de El Salvador," which yes, does translate to "Dictator of El Salvador." This seems like a worrying development, but I'm not sure to what extent it should be documented in the article yet. Is there another way to read this besides a prelude to some kind of power grab? Ithinkiplaygames (talk) 04:02, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's quite clearly a shitpost. Bukele has shitposted before on Twitter and on Instagram, this isn't out of character or shocking. Pizzaking13 (Hablame) 06:26, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fox News as a source?[edit]

Why is Fox News used as a source for his comments on the FBI? I thought general consensus is that Fox News is unreliable. 174.240.253.119 (talk) 01:12, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for highlighting what many people have been concerned about, regarding Wikipedia and the "oh so carefully and curated" list of "credible sources".
You wish to exclude truth and deny pluralism. You wish to constrain Wikipedia on current and political matters to an in-group political stance, which is so often driven by personal bias and animosity.
You are correct, the accurate and truthful quote does not meet Wikipedia standards. It must be expunged, to continue the biased and partisan ideology of some Wikipedia editors. I feel very sad this it has come to this, but it has. You win. 185.115.6.192 (talk) 20:04, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is a typo to be corrected in the end of the “personal life” section.

“The last time El Salvador hosted the beuty pageant was in 1975.”

“beuty” -> ”beauty” 2600:1700:2600:8D10:AD2B:21A5:F19A:951E (talk) 03:50, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Political views seems biased[edit]

"Bukele's political views have sometimes been referred to by some journalists as the ideology of "Bukelism".Bukele has been compared to Donald Trump for style of government, rhetoric, and criticism of the press."

His rhetoric is very different to Trump. His rhetoric is actually very calm and cool, whereas Trump is hyperbolic, angry, and emotional. Family Guy Guy (talk) 00:59, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Family Guy Guy. I'm going to take a look at the wording so that the political views are described as neutral as possible. However, I must say Buekele is histrionic in his apperances and often exacerbates feelings. TanookiKoopa (talk) 10:12, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit wars[edit]

Hi all,

it seems @PizzaKing13 reverts every edit they don't like. On their Talk Page, they clearly state they are pro-Bukele. It seems to me, their editing is biased and tends to remove important facts that provide relevant context but might be perceived as damaging to Bukele's image.

TanookiKoopa (talk) 20:19, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to think that then go ahead I guess. PizzaKing13 ¡Hablame! 20:45, 27 November 2023 (UTC) Also I apologize if that sounds rude but I try to keep my writing to NPOV and have been commented before (maybe twice?) by fellow editors that I've done a good job at maintaining NPOV so please stop putting out PSA's warning people that I "[revert] every edit [I] don't like", thanks. PizzaKing13 ¡Hablame! 21:26, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then don't revert every edit you don't like! I've added non-controversial facts which you unilaterally then edit out. Remember WP:OWN
TanookiKoopa (talk) 08:01, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like you still don't have faith in me by continuing to claim that i "revert every edit [I] don't like". Alas, oh well. PizzaKing13 ¡Hablame! 17:59, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal[edit]

I propose merging War against corruption (El Salvador) into Nayib Bukele. The name of the page is a slogan used by Bukele not a historical o academic term. Also, I can hardly see any case in which some will look for "War against corruption in El Salvador". In any case, they would look for the article Corruption in El Salvador (into which this page could alternatively be merged). @PizzaKing13:

Has he resigned?[edit]

Clarify please, if he's no longer president? then he's resigned. Otherwise, he's still president, just has handed over his powers & duties. GoodDay (talk) 16:55, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

He just handed over his powers and duties. It's a legal mess nowadays in El Salvador. Unprecedented stuff.

Bloated and biased lede[edit]

The lede of this article (probably the longest I've seen on any Wikipedia page) devotes an inordinate amount of effort to explaining why none of Bukele's achievements are actually worthy of any credit. The content here needs to be broken up, written more impartially, and moved to more relevant sections.

I noticed another editor tried to do this but had their edits reverted by someone who is clearly hellbent on using this article as their soapbox. Gravyd2 (talk) 21:04, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lead too long tag[edit]

Does the {{Lead too long}} tag need to stay? Seems like an acceptable sized lead to me, especially with that infobox taking up a bunch of space on the side. I'd be in favor of removing this tag. –Novem Linguae (talk) 04:00, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Technically yes, according to the MOS:LEADLENGTH guideline Wafflefrites (talk) 05:01, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This sentence makes no sense[edit]

From 2006 to 2010, Bukele was the president of Nölck, for which we previously worked for.

(Is that supposed to say "which HE previously worked for"? If so, why was it also not listed as his previous employment? Makes no sense.) Jimindc (talk) 14:51, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
