      • Exactly. Real-time updates are problematic as it reduces the expectation of accuracy in the table - you pretty much would not know what date the last update was, or you could end up with a Devils fan, for instance, updating Brodeur but not the other four active goaltenders. For simplicity sake, I set the win totals to the last completed season. Once it ends, I or someone else will update all relevant entries. Resolute 00:51, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

          • Not that I've checked often but it seems that the stats are now being updated on an ad-hoc basis (and they are not in sync with each other as of December 10, 2014).             • I think that would be preferable. The accuracy of the list suffers when it's haphazardly updated on and off throughout the season. If it's done at season's end, it can be noted that the statistics are up to date as of the end of whatever season. I think it would be wise to add a note at the beginning of the table with instructions not to edit the statistics mid-season, as is found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NHL_players_with_500_goals#500-goal_scorers ScottM84 (talk) 16:58, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We need to find the exact dates of six NHL goalies who got their 300 wins[edit]

We still need to fix the exact dates on six NHL goaltenders who had got 300 win milestones; Terry Sawchuk, Tony Esposito, Glenn Hall, Jacques Plante, Rogatien Vachon and Harry Lumley. We should find the dates soon. BattleshipMan (talk) 19:33, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I added dates for all but Tony Esposito using the 300-game winners in the National Hockey League page from The goaltender home page. It's a bit questionable especially since the date for Esposito is clearly wrong. Nationalities of the goalies who made 300 NHL wins[edit]

I think the nationality of the goalies who had 300 NHL wins should be allowed since it is very much relevant since everybody should do which countries they are form. They're about 19 Canadians, 3 Americans, 2 Russians, 2 Czechs, one Finn and one German who made that milestone. BattleshipMan (talk) 17:51, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It does. Many players who scored 500 goals do have their nationalities, since Joe Mullen was the first American player to score 500 goals and Jari Kurri was the first non-Canadian hockey player to score 500 goals. For having nationalities in 300 NHL goalie wins, it would tell you that Tom Barrasso was the first non-Canadian goalie to earn that milestone and Nikolai Khabibulin was the first Russian goalie to earn that achievement. So that's kind of the reason why the nationalities are at much necessary and it's not necessarily trivial. BattleshipMan (talk) 19:19, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You are talking about a different concept here. Being the first of x nationality may be notable. Certainly in terms of 500-goal scorers, this has been discussed in reliable sources. So making mention of these notable firsts is valuable, I agree. And if you can find a reliable source that marks out someone as being the first American/Russian/Fooian goalie to reach 300 wins, feel free to add it. This is not, however, a justification for the unsourced trivia of how many goalies from random nations have reached the mark. And in terms of the 500 goal list, it is on my list to rewrite and update, and when I do get around to it, you can be assured I will remove the trivia from there as well. Before you start removing those things on those pages, you might want to look up the player's articles for sources, like Joe Mullen, since he has a source of being the first American player to score 500 goals, and check out sources on being the first x nationality earn 300 wins. Dude, I wrote the article on Joe Mullen. And you are still not getting the point. A statement about a player reaching a historic first is not a comparable to, nor does it justify, random trivia about how many players from various players make the list. Resolute 01:37, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
What my point is that is having the first hockey player of which nationality who scores his 500th NHL goal and gets his 300th NHL victory is a significant achievement for their home countries like U.S., Sweden, Finland and such. That everyone who will read these articles will know the nationalities of those players who did those milestones easier by reading about them in those 2 articles and that every person who are from those countries from the articles of each hockey player and that is why the nationalities should be on those articles, no matter how trivial they can be. Hockey Hall of Fame vs US Hockey Hall of Fame[edit]

Both Mike Richter and Tom Barrasso are noted as having been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame but they were really inducted into the US Hockey Hall of fame, as noted on their individual pages. Should those designations be removed or should there be a different color noted for induction into regional HoFs? Thanks for catching that, and no, it is only meant for the HHOF, not USHOF, CSHOF, etc. I removed the shading entirely anyway - We already massively overuse background shading for no reason other than it's colourful, and in this case, has no value when 80% of the list is shaded plus it is redundant to the column that already notes HHOF induction. Roberto Luongo's 300th win[edit]

Roberto Luongo earned his 300th win with the Vancouver Canucks on March 5, 2011, but for whatever reason, they keep on editing it to his current team, the Florida Panthers. Somebody should lock this article because this is inaccurate.Ralphierce (talk) 11:34, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I corrected Luongo's entry and added a comment to both his and Fleury's entries indicating "Luongo won his 300th game with Vancouver. Please do not change this to his current team". Hopefully that's enough. If not, a lock would be helpful.Sxg169 (talk) 13:10, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Ryan Miller recorded his 300th win with the Canucks in October 2014, not with his current team the Anaheim Ducks.Ralphierce (talk) 04:24, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
