Italian or Sardinian?

About his name in Arabic

There is always a problem with Tunisian names and Arabic language (like the name of Burguiba, which is written on Wikipedia as بورقيبة (Burqiba). Name of Beji Caid Essebsi is written without glottal stop as you can see here, this is a photo from results of presidential election (official). So Muhammad al-Bājī Qā’id as-Sabsī is false and the correct one is Muhammad al-Bājī Qāyid as-Sebsī. Also, for as-Sabsi, it's pronounced with Schwa instead of a, so we can use i or e. --GeekEmad (talk) 20:23, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

This article needs revision to make it readily accessible to the generality of educated readers: foreign words or coinages such as "beylical" or "makhzen" will be meaningless to most readers and they should not have to go to links to get a sense of what is meant - see MOS:FOREIGN, WP:JARGON "Do not introduce new and specialized words simply to teach them to the reader when more common alternatives will do".

Hi, yes I think it does need rewording, it currently says:

Born in Sidi Bou Said to a family from the beylical agricultural makhzen[in English?],

How about something along the lines of:

Born in Sidi Bou Said, to a family from the local administration, in the agricultural region controlled by the makhzen tribal government of the Beylik of Tunis,

I'd do it 'boldly' but I'm not certain I've understood the makhzen bit properly. If the sentence above correctly describes the origins of his family then please go ahead. I think later use of the word beylical would clearly refer to the Beylik, and would then not really need fixing - except perhaps as a link to bey. ___ EdwardLane (talk) 23:51, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

In order to comply with the ITN demands, I have commented the following honnnours

• Equatorial Guinea: Grand Cross of the National Order of Equatorial Guinea (27 February 2018)
• France: Grand Cross of the Order of the Legion of honour (31 January 2018)
• Senegal : Grand Cross of the National Order of the Lion (18 December 2018)

France Legion of Honneur database cannot be accessed for people that have died recently and I could not find any journal source. For Senegal and Equatorial Guinea I do not know where to look, Google search finds nothing. Please restore if a source is found.--MaoGo (talk) 08:14, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
