Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Suspicious editing on Iran Air & related by new accounts. GoodSamaritansneverdie and Mostninjasneverdie have already been blocked as socks. Heretohelpwithit was apparently created solely to troll User:YSSYguy on Iran Air Tours. YSSYguy previously was in conflict with the suspected master. Friendsisthebest shows the same ownership problems on the same article. [1] [2] Sro23 (talk) 00:00, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Opened per the Duck test. A "new" but obviously experienced User springs into being immediately after the previous sockpuppets were blocked, with a not-dissimilar name. This User's sole focus is articles related to Iranian airlines, despite purportedly being from Japan. This User proceeds to make just enough edits to become auto-confirmed then swings back to the protected Iran Air article to reinstate edits originally made by Theeasytarget and/or one or other of the sockpuppets (this, this and this; as well as this and this). There is way too much to be a coincidence. Requesting Ckeckuser due to the plethora of socks found in the original SPI. YSSYguy (talk) 17:28, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The allegations put forward by the above user sound entirely preposterous to me. Every single apparent piece of evidence collected by the user is totally accidental and this acount bears zero affiliation to any other accounts.

I'm left shocked and aghast at these comically baseless accusations. I suggest some form of prompt disciplinary measure is taken against him to forestall future harassment of well-intentioned contributors to this grand project. Many thanks.

Sockpuppet Heretohelpwithit, who has a very similar prose style, also called Wikipedia a "grand project". YSSYguy (talk) 17:51, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Really? Then how about a ban on all users with remotely similar style of writing? Maybe there is an unspoken rule on Wikipedia that users aren't allowed to use certain words? This despicable abuse cannot possibly go unpunished like this. I expect administrators to carry out a full review of your utterly inappropriate conduct. Many thanks. • The technical data is unusual. The location doesn't match, but all the user agents match. This should be decided based on behavior.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:07, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • From my analysis of their editing patterns I believe Cartelgirlshere is lying about living in Japan, so I have blocked. Closing. King of ♠ 20:11, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Note how the user made 10 dummy edits to their userspace in order to edit the semi-protected Iran Air, the article this sockmaster has been most obsessed with. User is now edit-warring on said article as per usual. Sro23 (talk) 20:40, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have also noticed the account making these edits on the Iran Aseman Airlines page as well CBG17 (talk) 22:00, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Note that the sockpuppeteer account has stated, "I have access to virtually unlimited IPs, huge number of auto-confirmed accounts and a sizeable arsenal of extended-confirmed accounts in the pipeline". We know from previous behaviour that the claim about IP addresses is correct. It's unlikely a checkuser will find much here, but I strongly encourage looking. It's possible this vandal has got sloppy and we may discover some sleeper accounts. --Yamla (talk) 23:01, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. It's closed already. That's fine, we'll catch the next batch, eventually. --Yamla (talk) 23:02, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
