Suspected sockpuppets

Editing on Bulgaria national football team
  • BulgariaSources: Re-added non-free image removed per WP:NFCCE with [1] and then again [2] and [3]. Using title case in section and table headings [4], [5] and [6].
  • 141.215.16.153: Made 14 consecutive edits on July 30, using title-case in section headings and re-embedding external links ([9]), etc. (All edits can be seen at Special:Contributions/141.215.16.153]).
  • 2601:403:4000:6df0:d4ac:5f78:b7de:81f2: Made 42 consecutive edits on July 31 and then 105 more consecutive edits on August 1. Most of these edits were incremental changes, but mixed in with the rest were the re-adding of the non-free image and using title case in the section headings (such as [10]), etc. (All edits can be seen at Special:Contributions/2601:403:4000:6df0:d4ac:5f78:b7de:81f2)
  • 2601:403:4000:6df0:3dc4:6402:bc35:a42c: Made [11] on August 3, re-adding the non-free image and using title-case in section headings.
  • 2601:403:4000:6df0:bcb1:c28:e147:ec1f: Made [12] on August 4, re-adding non-free image and using title-case in section headings. (New IP account added. - Marchjuly (talk) 00:51, 4 August 2015 (UTC))[reply]

Editing on Hristo Stoichkov

In addition to "Bulgaria national football team", BulgariaSources, and two other IPs have made essentially the same edit on Hristo Stoichkov: removing sourced content, adding POV statements and changing the infobox image.

  • BulgariaSources: July 28 [13], [14], [15] and August 1 [16]
  • 2601:403:4000:6df0:fdd0:c1f2:99c:2ee1: August 2 [17]
  • 2601:403:4000:6df0:3dc4:6402:bc35:a42c: August 3 [18]

All of the above edits are quite similar in both content and style. No edit sums are left, and no attempt is being made by any of the editors to explain why their edits are appropriate. In addition, no response has been received to posts left on user talk pages and at Talk:Bulgaria national football team. All of the accounts seem to be editing only Bulgaria-related topics, particularly football-related articles, so there's quite a bit of overlap in their editing histories. Three of the IPs and BulgariaSources were created within the past month or so and two of the IPs went unused for many years before returning to editing a few months ago. - Marchjuly (talk) 07:55, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Admin action needed -  Looks like a duck to me. Block the master and the last two IPs for three days each. Other IPs are not active any more. Vanjagenije (talk) 14:39, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've blocked the master for three days and semi-protected the targets. Blocking individual IP's may be futile because of the quick hopping. A rangeblock may be feasible. --NeilN talk to me 02:10, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • @NeilN: Can you take a look whether the range block is feasible? I'm talking about the 2601:403 IPs. Vanjagenije (talk) 09:10, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

23 March 2016[edit]

Suspected sockpuppets

IP 141.215.74.54 has made similar disruptive edits [19], [20], [21], [22] to Bulgaria national football team as well as to the article's talk page [23] as previously confirmed socks (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BulgariaSources/Archive). IP has also been making similar edits on other Bulgaria-related pages.

After IP 141.213.74.54 was reverted a few times by another editor and once by myself, IP 141.215.74.94 then appeared and made [24] as well as a number of other smaller edits previously made by confirmed socks. IP 141.215.128.248 then appeared to edit "Bulgaria national football team" making cleanup and format fixes to the changes made by 141.213.74.54 and 141.215.74.94.

IP 141.215.74.191 made major changes to Bulgarian Empire [25] which was reverted, but then IP 141.215.74.120 appeared to re-add the same content [26] which was then further edited by IP 141.215.74.94. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:15, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New account created a few days ago. Second edit made was this edit request added to Talk:Bulgaria national football team which basically copy-and-pasted a older POV version of the article onto the article's talk page. Marchjuly (talk) 01:44, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @QEDK: This edit request was added to the article's talk page by BGBalrog on 31 March 2016. This is basically the same edit request made here by IP 141.215.74.54 on 19 February 2016. Both of these edit requests are basically the same POV version of the article which was being constantly readded by BulgariaSources here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here. Similar edits to "Bulgaria national football team" were made by various IPs as can be seen in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BulgariaSources/Archive#03 August 2015. All of these edits are pretty similar not only in the POV content and the inclusion of an excessive amount of match results, but also in the overall formating of the sections and section heading capitalization, etc. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:47, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets[edit]

Seems to be the old Bulgarian nationalist troll because of reversions to old, incorrect versions of List of wars involving Bulgaria (diff), List of wars involving Serbia (diff), Bulgaria national football team (diff). Note that the IPs with similar behavior all geolocate to the University of Michigan, Dearborn, which goes with the username "Detroiter" Kges1901 (talk) 10:02, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've add IP 141.215.74.85 ([27],[28]), IP 141.215.105.180 ([29], [30]) and IP 141.215.105.9 ([31]) to be checked as well. All three IP accounts and Detroiter313 seem like a WP:QUACK for the sock master: same genre of articles and same content being added, same use of edit warring to try and add content. A small but minor point is also the way the new accounts are trying to use title case capitalization in all of the section headings (as opposed to MOS:SECTIONCAPS) which was something the previously blocked master and socks all did as well. The IP 141.XXX.XXX address are something that the master seems to have used before when socking and their sudden appearance to make the same edits as Detroiter313 seems to be more than coincidental. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:16, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The case is  Stale. CU declined.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:41, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Blocked the account. IPs are no longer active. In particular, the addition of false information to the Bulgarian national football team article strongly matches behavior of the master. ~ Rob13Talk 02:23, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
