A rather misplaced redirect; the team did more than just a domestic series. SpacedFarmer (talk) 21:15, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

like munchlax, it was shown and named in gen 3, so not sure where this came from. it doesn't even look like a weed, or weed, and results only show memes about its evolution sudowoodo and... johnny bravo fanart cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 11:41, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

not a name munchlax has ever had, ever. not even the depths of bulbapedia had any info on this name. since munchlax was revealed and explicitly named in gen 3, i don't even think this is a smugleaf case, where fans speculated the name cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 11:37, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete or mention Talk:Munchlax#Is Laxbe his name? indicates that there was speculation that this would be the character's name, and this Bulbapedia user page explains why that was. If there are reliable sources covering this speculation then it may be worth mentioning, if there is no content then deletion is the way to go. Outside of Pokemon, almost all the results seem to be Japanese-language websites relating to beauty products but my knowledge of both Japanese and beauty products is insufficient to say any more. Thryduulf (talk) 12:55, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
so it was a smugleaf case... but only for a few people during a few weeks, until it was revealed in the first pmd game(s) and apparently also the anime
unlike smugleaf, sources don't seem to have picked up on it, so i guess my vote can be changed to a weak delete until a theoretical source is found cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 13:31, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
welp, I found the name 'Laxbe' mentioned on Serebii (scroll down to 26/5/2004) - I have received multiple emails with people saying Gonbe has an official american name. THAT IS A LIE. Its US name is NOT Laxbe. That was a fan name created on a forum somewhere and is not real. I just did a trademark and registry check and found nothing. For all the REAL information about Gonbe, click below:.
That announcement was made 2 days after Munchlax was first revealed (and I can't find anything else on the matter), so yeah imma vote for Delete 🔥HOTm̵̟͆e̷̜̓s̵̼̊s̸̜̃🔥 (talkedits) 02:45, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is no Legislative Assembly election scheduled for Uttar Pradesh in 2024. The next Legislative Assembly election is expected to happen in 2027, five years after the last one in 2022. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 10:34, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mother Superior[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Mother superior. plicit 14:11, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

re-targeting to Superior general (Christianity), alternatively an article "Mother superior/Superior" should be written. Mother Superior simply redirects to abbess, which seems to be plain wrong. These terms are not synonyms. Usually, only the nuns of some of the old orders, such as Benedictines, Cistercians etc. have abbesses, some of those orders (usually the Mendicants, with the exception of the Poor Clares), have prioresses. The much younger religious congregations have other titles to refer to their superiors. The distinction is also one of canon law. PS: "Mother Superior" is not even a form of address for an abbess (that would be "Mother <religious name>" or simply "Mother") --Medusahead (talk) 08:50, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. The superior general is the head of an order. The mother superior is usually the head of an individual abbey, priory or other religious house within an order. I appreciate mother superior is mostly just a generic title rather than an official title, but it is a commonly used term and is no more synonymous with superior general than you're claiming it is with abbess. A separate article at this title would probably be fine (so write one!), but not a change in the redirect target. So long as there's no separate article, the redirect should remain as is. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:10, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I've created a new article, so maybe my enquiry is obsolete meanwhile. --Medusahead (talk) 09:34, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Retarget to Mother superior as it's the new article made by nom, to cover the topic. Lunamann 🌙🌙🌙 The Moooooooniest (talk) 10:58, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Leonard Balsera[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. The discussants have demonstrated that this person is mentioned in at least two articles about his work, and therefore the redirect should be deleted to reveal search results and perhaps encourage article creation. Deryck C. 15:27, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The name Leonard Balsera is not found in the target article. Recommend deletion of redirect. A draft BLP is pending AFC review. The alternative is to include a description of the work by Balsera on the game in the History section. Robert McClenon (talk) 08:33, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: @Robert McClenon: You saw on the draft that the guy worked on The Dresden Files Roleplaying Game right? Nobody (talk) 11:54, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
User:1AmNobody24 - Yes. The draft explains the connection, but the article doesn't. So if the draft is accepted, it makes the connection. If the draft is declined because he doesn't pass biographical notability, the article says nothing about him unless it is edited. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:44, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - the name does indeed appear in the target article as the author of the work. WP:NAUTHOR applies to Balsera as the author of a notable work, anyway, and redirecting to the work is a reasonable temporary measure pending him having a BLP article - and is also the approach recommended by policy. • Keep as per Newimpartial and Nobody. Assuming that Robert simply didn't see the infobox (where the name is listed), and didn't do a ctrl-F search for it, given it was there when the RFD post was made. Lunamann 🌙🌙🌙 The Moooooooniest (talk) 10:21, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete (and make the mention in The Dresden Files Roleplaying Game a redlink, per Reason 10 "If the redirect could plausibly be expanded into an article, and the target article contains virtually no information on the subject." Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 11:35, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Leonard Balsera is also shown as the designer of Fate (role-playing game system), a source of the The Dresden Files Roleplaying Game. But again, only in the Infobox. Released by Rangers last year; still a minor league free agent. Stephen Villines was deleted awhile back; there's nowhere for this to point and the current target does not mention him and likely never will again. Hog Farm Talk 03:06, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not convinced that Telephone is the primary topic for this page. I think it is a competition between Telephone, Mobile phone, and Smartphone. I suggest a dab page for this one. Interstellarity (talk) 02:48, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep I think the hatnote is fine here. Ultimately, mobile phones and smartphones are just types of telephones (and are both linked from the current target). Worth noting that Phone (disambiguation) already exists for other potential definitions. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 03:17, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Presidentman. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:12, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per WP:DABCONCEPT. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:47, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per WP:DABCONCEPT as per Crouch and Presidentman. I'd argue that a smartphone is a type of PDA with the telephony features tacked on, but that's getting into weeds that we don't need to get into when discussing redirects-- the average layman would think of a smartphone as a type of mobile phone, and a mobile phone as a type of telephone. In that sense, DABCONCEPT applies, and the redirect should go to Telephone. Lunamann 🌙🌙🌙 The Moooooooniest (talk) 23:23, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Presidentman. Only in my dreams of a different world, landline should be the primary topic . — Godsy (TALKCONT) 17:16, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ramon Morla[edit]

The result of the discussion was Delete * Pppery * it has begun... 19:26, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Current redirect target is not useful; has not been in the Mariners system since 2016 per this and doesn't seem to have pitched professional since 2018 per Baseball Reference. There is no content about Ramon Morla on all of enwiki except for one bare mention at Baseball at the 2019 Pan American Games – Men's team rosters and given that that is only one facet of his career, I don't think that's a feasible retarget option. There's nowhere for this redirect to point. Hog Farm Talk 02:48, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Tagged as {{R from merge}}. Although merged to target, it was removed within a week in 2011. Delete per nom. Jay 💬 06:39, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Job growth[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Employment-to-population ratio. (non-admin closure) Utopes (talk / cont) 19:58, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think this target would be considered a surprise; with the way this redirect the structured, most likely someone looking up this phrase would be attempting to locate a article regarding an increase or decrease in jobs in an economy or country. From what I see, such information is not present in the target article, and I am not able to find an article with the aforementioned information. Steel1943 (talk) 00:02, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

i suppose it's growth in the sense that being born makes you more grown-up than the average fetus, but would the actual act of "job growth" refer to promotion or employment-to-population ratio? cogsan (nag me) (stalk me) 17:43, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Fascinating, I did not know the article Employment-to-population ratio existed until now. That would be the subject which I would think this redirect refers. Steel1943 (talk) 20:51, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
