  • Delete: Per OP. Pax Brittanica (talk) 23:15, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as mentioned – it has quite the affinity to a target that lists the Names of Germany in various languages! J947edits 23:47, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you look at WP:RLANG, these should be deleted. What connection does Germany have to Catalan and Filipino? greyzxq talk 06:42, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, this name has a big connection to Names of Germany. J947edits 07:42, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't really… we don't have redirects from País del Mig to Names of China, which I believe is the only other article which actually says the names of the country in loads of different languages. The only connection is that it means Germany, and if this redirect is okay shouldn't every name for Germany in each language redirect to this article? But that goes against WP:RLANG, which was my original reason for deletion. greyzxq talk 00:50, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Many more redirects should exist than do – non-existence of redirects for similar terms is not an accurate barometer of usefulness in the slightest. To the second sentence: yes, quite right, other redirects should be created. This redirect does not fall afoul of RLOTE – read through that page's rationale and please explain how any of that applies to redirects to a Names of article. J947edits 04:53, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep per J947 - this isn't a generic "random word in a non-English language" redirect. There is enough historical connection between Czechoslovakia and Germany (as noted above, this is the non-diacritic form of the name of Germany in Czech). Walt Yoder (talk) 04:31, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to E-Type (a disambiguation page). Rather than primarily being a particular model of sports car produced by Audi c. 1912–1923, 'Type E' could refer to various topics, such as the Type E power plug and socket used in France, which is a topic more familiar to the general public. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:20, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as G8, at least for now. It appears that the references to zombie pages and zombie portals were removed from the glossary, which has left this redirect as a redirect to nowhere. This entry may not be necessary because the zombie portals, or at least most of them, were successfully destroyed in the Great Portal Wars of 2019, but with considerable collateral damage (because war is a tragic bloody activity). Either the glossary entry should be restored, or the redirect should be deleted, and the glossary entry may refer to an extinct subspecies and so may not be needed. • Delete - both links are technically incorrect because no one was killed, so at best this is misleading. However, the redirects were also recently created, so I agree that these qualify for speedy deletion under R3. Had the pages been created shortly after the attack, it would have been reasonable to have these redirects because it wasn't yet known whether anyone had died. But this is more than a year out, when we know no one was killed, and every victim has long since been discharged from the hospital. – Epicgenius (talk) 22:02, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The "A List Of" in the title left over from a March 2015 move may or may not be helpful to people, but the singular form in the redirect makes this implausible (also, it hasn't gotten very many pageviews since July that same year). I'm sure Argentina have played France many other times - and not just in football...!! Better to be disambiguated than redirected, but deletion is just as easy I guess Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 05:16, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. Under WP:R, one of the purposes of redirects is "less specific forms of names, for which the article subject is still the primary topic". This is the same reason why Obama redirects to Barack Obama (despite there being many people named Obama), Croatia vs France redirects to 2018 FIFA World Cup final (despite France vs Croatia having played in other games), and 7-1 redirects to Brazil v Germany (2014 FIFA World Cup) (despite other games, both in soccer and other sports, having ended with a scoreline of 7-1). Given these examples, and the fact that the 2022 World Cup final is the most notable game between Argentina and France, I think that the redirect is good to stay. 4hrue2kd83f (talk) 14:27, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. The only other articles on Argentina–France competition that I can find are 1960 France rugby union tour of Argentina and Uruguay, 1998 France rugby union tour of Argentina and Fiji, and 1985 France rugby union tour of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Three other Argentina–France football matches get sections in larger articles: 2018 FIFA World Cup knockout stage#France vs Argentina, 1930 FIFA World Cup Group 1#Argentina vs France, and 1978 FIFA World Cup Group 1#Argentina vs France. All six of these articles combined get a tenth of the views that the 2022 game gets. This is the clear primary topic; if there were a disambiguation page it could be linked in a hatnote. The result of the discussion was retarget to Get on the Dance Floor. No consensus to disambiguate, so retargeting per WP:NCRET. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 00:02, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a bit lost on how to fix this issue. For one, the properly capitalized version of this redirect, assuming title case, Get on the Dancefloor, does not exist. However, there is an article at Get on the Dance Floor. Due to the fact this redirect is a subtitle-ish WP:PTM of its target, I'm not really sure if the ultimate solution here is "keep", "delete", or "retarget to Get on the Dance Floor". Right now, my thought is weak retarget to Get on the Dance Floor, but will yield to any convincing arguments against this stance. Steel1943 (talk) 20:00, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Google hits are all about a bridge, not about an electoral district. CapitalSasha ~ talk 02:01, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Canadian electoral districts have names instead of numbers (unlike the USA). Saskatchewan has finished redistributing (redistricting) the districts for the provincial legislature after the 2021 census. As part of this reconfiguration, the current district of Saskatoon Northwest is being renamed Saskatoon Chief Mistawasis. You can look at the maps on the boundary commission's website. https://www.saskboundaries.ca/maps/
I am preparing these new articles ahead of time for the roughly ten to-be-renamed districts in the province, and am setting them to be redirected to the current article...this way those searching for the new names now are redirected to the correct article under the current names, and not just given a 'not found' error. In the coming weeks/months, I will be updating all the articles to reference these upcoming changes including the new names.
When the next election is called (which is when the new boundaries and names will take effect), I will migrate the content for the districts being renamed from the old article to the new article, and then will redirect the will-be-old name to the new (and will-be-current) name.
Let me know if any other questions.
Thanks! Brycecordry (talk) 02:29, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thanks. Is this really a "renaming" of the electoral district? Looking at the maps it seems that the new district will include area from several current districts. CapitalSasha ~ talk 11:42, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you compare the changes as I have, about 90% of the area that’s in Saskatoon Northwest right now remains in the Chief Mistawasis riding, and it just gains some largely undeveloped territory from Saskatoon Silverspring-Sutherland and Saskatoon Willowgrove, similar to how other electoral districts gain and lose territory from redistribution. Also all districts in Saskatchewan are gaining population due to record population growth over the last decade. It no longer makes sense to call it Saskatoon Northwest because it will now pull in the northeast corner of Saskatoon, but in principle it’s the same riding, just new/expanded boundaries. Same thing could be said for Regina Mount Royal being a renamed/expanded Regina Rosemont, but I’m still debating on how to handle that one. Brycecordry (talk) 19:18, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No Google hits for this term, seems unlikely that this is a real term people use for this event. CapitalSasha ~ talk 01:30, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Completely inappropriate use of the term. WWGB (talk) 01:33, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Before I noticed the deletion tag, I was about to nominate this. This is an obvious misuse of the term 'genocide'. Waddles 🗩 🖉 01:46, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Google hits all refer to killing of bison, not of this mass shooting. CapitalSasha ~ talk 01:27, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this is a very plausible or significant typo. However, it's definitely not patent nonsense (I declined a WP:CSD#G1 tagging), and since it has existed for three months, I believe it's too old to delete as WP:CSD#R3. Complex/Rational 00:46, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, harmless. J947edits 00:51, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per J947. To further back up this claim, the redirect could also be a misspelling for Experimenting due to the "n" being at the end; however, since Experimenting targets Experiment, the current target of the nominated redirect, nothing is lost in this case.
