T Paine[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Paine (surname). (non-admin closure) Timothytyy (talk) 00:45, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This was most likely and editor made jab at T-Pain or april fools joke but Thomas Paine has never been addressed as T paine, That's fair to sacrifice to the Wiki gutter right? I LIKE TO EAT SKITTLES LOTS OF SKITTLES (talk) 17:26, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: I correctly formatted the nomination, so I hope that'll help. Also, I think we should retarget this thing to Paine (surname), which lists three T. Paines (including Thomas himself) and a disambiguation page of several other Thomases with the surname. I'm not sure we should WP:ASTONISH readers by taking them to a target who may have not been addressed by this name, and plus it's still getting a good number of pageviews (like 409 last year), so I'm not convinced we should delete it. Regards, SONIC678 19:21, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep There does appear to be some current use of "T Paine" to refer to Thomas Paine (e.g. [1], [2], and [3]), likely in jest and as a reference to the rapper. Ultimately, redirects are cheap, and, if there is a sort of comical usage of the term in this way, it's plausible people in fact are trying to reach the Thomas Paine article. - Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 22:42, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Paine (surname) per nominator and Sonic678. Veverve (talk) 00:30, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Paine (surname) per above --Lenticel (talk) 01:27, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Black Day (India)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. Jay 💬 07:09, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Even though the target article doesn't mention that usage, it is still attested (as a web search would easily confirm). However, other events in India have also led to characterisations as "Black Days" (see for example the usage here, where the phrase refers to the Jammu and Kashmir Black Day). Given this ambiguity, I propose deletion. – Uanfala (talk) 16:32, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Vatican City#Demographics. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 16:44, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading: the Holy See is not a country, and the target does not contain demographic information. There is no good retarget; Vatican City has no demographic data on its religion.

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 21:22, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect is not helpful at all since it is all capitalised. It was previously a WP:FORK of Carmel Henry Carfora which was created after the user Catolicoantiguo was reverted at the Carmel Henry Carfora article.

Therefore, I propose deletion. Veverve (talk) 12:43, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom; all-caps redirect that is unhelpful. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 18:28, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: Per nom. All caps redirects are (usually) not helpful. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:42, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above --Lenticel (talk) 00:42, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nominator. The combination of the all caps, the typo in the first name and the very long title makes this redirect an implausible search term. Dsuke1998AEOS (talk) 00:06, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely term (nickname not used for this pope + number instead of numeral), and the pope doesn't come up in a search Rusalkii (talk) 05:47, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep per CHEAP, I've heard Queen Elizabeth II referred to shorthand as "Liz 2", so I don't see how this is much different. BhamBoi (talk) 06:21, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per BhamBoi and WP:CHEAP. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 07:16, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: It seems there are no (other? I am unclear if the Pope counts as a regent) regents who are Alex... VI, as the pope is the only Alex... VI with an article this seems like an unambiguous enough redirect. Having said that, it does almost sounds like a knock-off of the TV show Adam-12, but that's no reason not to keep.
