Delete. This is a pointless redirect created by an admin because Wii had nothing related to it. Also, why does something like iPhone pornography not redirect here? 69.117.241.47 (talk) 23:42, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Only such redirect for a recent year. Only 16 pageviews in the last year show that this redirect isn't really needed. MightyArms (talk) 22:42, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, harmless. -- Tavix (talk) 23:43, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Tavix and WP:CHEAP. This redirect is unambiguous, occasionally helpful, and isn't really hurting anything. It's also in line with a bunch of other redirects with the numbers of the year written out. Regards, SONIC678 01:59, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Sonic678. A7V2 (talk) 03:44, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2021 Tornado outbreak in the Southern United States[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 23:44, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is the result of the target page being moved and promptly moved back. (see logs for this and the target page) This is not an appropriate redirect. First, there are several other articles about tornado outbreaks that hit the southern U.S. in 2021. Second, the significant effects of the outbreak that is the current redirect target were not limited to the South. Note that the editor who performed the original page move is indefinitely blocked as a sockpuppet. I would suggest deletion, since there is no single page that would be an appropriate redirect target. TornadoLGS (talk) 20:13, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Originally intended to target Weed™, since deleted, this was retargeted to Cannabis (drug) and then Weed (disambiguation), neither of which are good targets. Enwiki has no mention of the term, so I suggest delete. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 16:38, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete should have been deleted along with the original target article. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:04, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There's no particularly salient connection between redirect and target: the redirect refers not to a highway, but to one among the dozens of settlements that are mentioned in the target when describing the route of the highways. The redirect term is also incorrect: it misspels the name mentioned in the target, "Mukhwa", which itself may be misspelt and/or ambiguous (further context). – Uanfala (talk) 14:18, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. The disambiguator is also improper, the comma disambiguator can be used for place names. Jay 💬 16:59, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was soft delete. Based on minimal participation, this uncontroversial nomination is treated as an expired PROD (a.k.a. "soft deletion"). Editors can request the article's undeletion. plicit 12:00, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Enwiki has no mention and nothing substantive about this river. Google Maps takes you to Nieppe; Frwiki has a redlink at fr:Lys (affluent de l'Escaut). Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:30, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Square up. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 01:42, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This capitalization does seem to have been used historically and/or in non-RS for Square, or more specifically its website squareup.com, on occasion, but isn't mentioned in the target article. As this could also be a misspelling of Square Up, suggest retargeting to DAB Square up. See also discussion at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 October 21 § Square up, including my explanation for retargeting from Block, Inc. • Retarget to the disambiguation page. I was originally thinking delete but if it is used then targeting the disambiguation page does no harm. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:00, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to the disambiguation page per nom. If it were Squareup.com then point to the financial services. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 05:54, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DMCAs[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 01:41, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Propose Deletion. No articles link through this redirect to the target article. The target article is intrinsically singular and the plural "DMCAs" does not make much sense, unless the intent was to direct to an article that discussed similar legislation found across multiple countries, which it does not, rather directing to the US legislation only. User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 00:28, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Common shortening of "Digital Millennium Copyright Act claims", or conjugated verb meaning "files a Digital Millennium Copyright Act claim". See wikt:DMCAs, https://www.google.com/search?q=%22dmcas%22 -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 00:41, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamzin: Thanks for the clarification. Should we take "claims" as "claims of violation" + "claims supported by" the DMCA? If that's the case, could be tagged with Template:R from related word, and the context of the redirect added to the redirect's talk page. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:22, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"claims of violation", so yeah, an r rom related word; also an r from plural + r from abbreviation, and an r from verb, if we want the full set. "Several DMCAs were filed", "He DMCAs her", etc. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 01:33, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Tazmin. The intent of creating this redirect (I'm the creator) was to aid searches by those who might not know the origin of the term. silviaASH (User:BlankpopsiclesilviaASHs4) (inquire within) 02:26, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. DMCA is often used as a countable noun for a single copyright claim, so this plural form is widespread and valid. Glades12 (talk) 18:38, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. An R-from-plural template was added to the redirect, but it is not a plural of the target article, but a plural of a claim made under the Act described by the article. The R-from-plural implies it is a plural of the target article, I feel. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 19:01, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm the one who added that. I get where you're coming from, but I don't think we need to be that strict with {{R from plural}}. Users are smart enough to realize that DMCAs isn't strictly the plural of Digital Millenium Copyright Act, and tagging plural redirects is still beneficial in cases like this because it correctly categorizes them as unprintworthy and aids tracking. Sorry for the late reply by the way. Glades12 (talk) 10:35, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: As we usually keep plural redirects plus it is cheap. Pizzaplayer219TalkContribs 23:36, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Proposing Deletion. The name "Akim Halimov" does not appear in the article, nor the version extant at the time the redirect was created, and searches for "Akim" via WikiBlame turned up no historical versions where the name appeared. Therefore, the redirect is a red herring, so to speak. User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 00:18, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
