Dal bati churma[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was restore and retarget. Restored Dal bati churma article and retargeted Dal Bati Churma there. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 02:09, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kind of a confusing situation here. These titles seem to be a mashup of the subjects Dal baati or Baati and Churma, which would make their existence a WP:XY issue on that alone unless there was an article or section of an article that specifically describes these redirects' subject. However, this is where it seems to get more complicated: Apparently, Dal bati churma was formerly an article that was WP:BLAR-ed as a result of a WP:PROD back in 2010. (See this diff.) In addition, the article Baati has a section named Baati#Daal-baati-churma which describes the subject of these redirects, but also the article Dal baati has a section named Dal baati#Dal Baati Choorma which also probably represents the same subject as these redirects. I'm thinking the best result here is to restore Dal bati churma as an article and retarget Dal Bati Churma there since then the respective sections in Baati and Dal baati can have hatnotes pointing towards the restored content to validate the redundancy. Either way though, these two redirects need to be synchronized somehow. Steel1943 (talk) 22:22, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Curry restaurant[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 14:38, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This redirects could be considered misleading. Though the concept curry may have a strong connection to Indian cuisine, the concept of "curry" is not exclusive to Indian cuisine; a reader could be searching this term to look for information or restaurants related to Thai curry, for example. I'd say best option here would be to delete both redirects to allow Wikipedia's search function to provide results for our readers. Steel1943 (talk) 22:41, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom – curry is certainly not unique to India. Alternatively, Curry would be a better target than the current one. Even Cuisine of the Indian subcontinent would be a better target than the current one (but curry is also found in cuisines outside of South Asia). —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 07:59, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Cuisine of the Indian subcontinent. It's unlikely in my opinion that "curry restaurant" would apply to a restaurant selling foods other than from the Indian subcontinent (e.g. a restaurant selling Thai food including curry wouldn't be known as a "curry restaurant", but a Bengali restaurant, or an Indian restaurant, probably would). The result of the discussion was speedy keep. Withdrawn by nominator, and apparently renominated at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 May 9#Letter of protest. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 06:54, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lemma as such only mentioned once (in a recursive link included in a parenthetic phrase). Hildeoc (talk) 23:36, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hildeoc: what is needed is an Rfd discussion where all of the forms of this redirect I mentioned in the last Rfd (plurals and capitalized versions) are considered together. Just considering this redirect for retargeting or deletion while leaving the related forms as-is doesn't make sense. Mdewman6 (talk) 17:12, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Queen. plicit 23:47, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There are more examples of fictional "queen" subjects than the target of this redirect; almost any of the subjects at the top section of Queen could apply, but since there seem to be no articles about a fictional variant, it's probably best to delete this redirect. The result of the discussion was speedy deleted per G5 as block evasion of AndLikeThings. -- Tavix (talk) 18:59, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Two issues here. 1) This is a completely implausible search term. No one is going to be searching for the iPhone X via the version number of a security patch to iOS. 2) This security patch was released for all iPhone and iPad models, it wasn't exclusive to the iPhoneX. 192.76.8.77 (talk) 18:20, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Multiple software on various platforms have been released with this designation. Even if we did keep it, we obviously would retarget it to a plausible target e.g. iOS 15, not to hardware that can use it. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 07:19, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Liz: WP:G5 does not apply here, specifically: A page created before the ban or block was imposed...will not qualify under this criterion. Shah Mohi was blocked 7 May 2022 so any page created before this date will not qualify. This redirect was created on 7 March 2022‎. -- Tavix (talk) 17:33, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I dug into this more and it turns out it does qualify for G5, but not through Shah Mohi. AndLikeThings was blocked on 21 October 2021. -- Tavix (talk) 18:40, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:REDLINK. The redirect is mentioned in the target article at Ninja#Edo period, but it seems the subject of this redirect is an organization, similar to the subject at Oniwaban. Steel1943 (talk) 17:49, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Ninjutsu. plicit 23:48, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm thinking this redirect should be retargeted to Ninjutsu (1st preference) or some section in Ninja that I cannot determine by looking at the article (2nd preference). Either way, this redirect targeting Ninja without a section redirect is misleading since it doesn't direct readers to the information they are looking for; regarding my 2nd preference, I cannot determine any specific section in the article where "abilities" are explained. Appears like WP:CNR. Besides, no incoming links from the mainspace. Kailash29792 (talk) 10:35, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: This redirect was created from a move of a page now in draft space, no real reason to delete unless creator requests a G7. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 11:22, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy keep and close this discussion. This nomination can be seen as borderline disruptive since the nominator is the one who moved the target page from the redirect, and deleting the redirect removes the creator's ability to find their draft by looking for the title in their user namespace. Deletion serves zero purpose. Steel1943 (talk) 17:52, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
