December 15[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on December 15, 2022.

Uctaa[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 23:43, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target article, leaving the connection between the redirect and the target article unclear. This redirect was originally created to target Apathetic agnosticism when it was an article; at one point, the redirect was mentioned in that article. Steel1943 (talk) 22:47, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - Evidently an acronym for "Universal Church Triumphant of the Apathetic Agnostic" (website; has also used uctaa.net but this site appears to accessible only on Wayback now), an organisation apparently founded by a John Tyrrell in 1996 (according to this site). Not clear that this is a notable organisation; same goes for Tyrrell. If either of them is notable, then this seems like a case of WP:REDYES since there doesn't seem to be any coverage anywhere on the encyclopedia. (Although Tyrrell, specifically on UCTAA's website, is referenced by Apatheism at Apatheism § Apathetic agnosticism.)– Scyrme (talk) 23:01, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Theoretical atheism[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 23:43, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target article, nor does the targeted section exist, leaving the connection between the redirect and the target unclear. This redirect was created an article created in 2008, but the article was subject to a WP:BLAR one day later. Steel1943 (talk) 22:20, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete until content is added. I found an online source which contrasts it with practical atheism. That site isn't particularly reliable, but I did also find this book which appears to do the same. I also found a number of Christian evangelist sites that discuss it disapprovingly. There is no coverage of this topic on the encylcopedia, so this is a case of WP:REDYES. It should be left vacant until content is added, after which it can be created again. – Scyrme (talk) 22:46, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Delete for now, per Scyrme. --Tryptofish (talk) 18:01, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fundamentalist Atheist[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to New Atheism. Consider this similar to a nomination withdraw. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 23:39, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target article, leaving the connection between the redirect (specifically "Fundamentalist") and the target article unclear. In addition, when this redirect was created in 2011, it targeted Militant atheism, but was changed to the current target a few months later. Steel1943 (talk) 21:43, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to New Atheism where it is mentionedl; the description there is adequate. Same target as Fundamentalist Atheism. "Fundamentalist atheist" is commonly used in jest or a perjorative, often synonymously with "militant atheist".
Regarding Militant atheism it appears to have been blanked and redirected multiple times, at least one of which was the outcome of an AfD; it has also previously been a disambiguation page listing State Atheism, League of Militant Atheists, and New Atheism. The last was qualified as A pejorative term for..., which agrees with the statement at New Atheism. – Scyrme (talk) 23:23, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

'zine[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Zine. plicit 23:44, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any reason to think that the presence of an apostrophe makes this exclusively an abbreviation for fanzine, rather than an alternate spelling of zine. Dictionary.com, based on Random House, has them as synonymous. (It then says both are abbreviations of fanzine, but I think that's because most sources don't consider zine and fanzine as distinct topics, and I'm not entirely convinced we should; but that's beyond RfD's scope.) So as long as Zine and Fanzine are distinct articles, we should retarget to Zine. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 20:45, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget - Agree with nominator. Zine also links to fanzine in its first sentence so anyone looking for that page would still find it. – Scyrme (talk) 20:52, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Devil and atheism[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 23:44, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The word devil has mentioned nowhere in the target article, meaning such a joint concept as referenced by these redirects does not exist in the target article. Due to the aforementioned issue, these redirects have WP:XY issues. Steel1943 (talk) 19:23, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nullifidian[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was soft redirect to Wikt:nullifidian. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 01:21, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target article, leading the connection between the redirect and the target article unclear. However, this redirect is mentioned in Laurence Urdang, the only article on Wikipedia that mentions this word; However, the usage of the redirect in the aforementioned article does not properly define what the redirect means. Steel1943 (talk) 19:22, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • The word "nullifidian" is a dated synonym for "unbeliever", but is attested in some sources.[a] It is apparently occassionally used by modern sceptics/atheists; Google Scholar shows that Richard Dawkins wrote for a publication called "The Nullifidian", for example. Looking more closely, it seems that the synonymy with "atheist" may be a modern invention, as part of a general reclaimation of terms like "unbeliever" by atheists. Historically, it seems to have referred to "unbelievers" in a broader sense; that is, particularly strict christians might accuse other christians sects or muslims of being "unbelievers". It also seems to have had a stricter technical sense, in reference to Christians who do not hold the protestant view of sola fide; that is, "nullifidian" may be used as the antonym of "solifidian".
Given this, I'd favour a soft redirect to Wiktionary; there is no coverage of the history or nuances of this term on Wikipedia, which isn't necessarily a synonym of "atheist". A soft redirect to Wiktionary would be preferable to deletion as it gives a definition and references Webster's Dictionary (1913) with an accessible link. – Scyrme (talk) 21:15, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notes

  1. ^ Such as Websters, 1913, or this book review which mentions it in a historical context - the preview cuts out the relevant bit but is available at snippet included in the preview for the following review in the same issue of that journal; the term was apparently used by Puritans.
  • Soft redirect to Wiktionary, per Scyrme. --Tryptofish (talk) 18:06, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Atheism and behavior[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 23:44, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unclear redirect where the subject of the redirect may not necessarily be mentioned in the target article. The target article includes some information about behaviors, but in regards to a social behaviors of associated subjects. Without a clear association of the redirect to the target article, this redirect has an inherent WP:XY issue. Steel1943 (talk) 19:13, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - If there were a section with this exact title I could see a reason to keep, but looking at the redirect's history it doesn't seem there ever was one. It had been targeted to Atheism § Religion and morality but that's not really the same thing. In absence of a section, this redirect simply isn't needed; better to allow uninhibited searching. The redirect is tagged "With possibilities", but that's not really true because it's so vague. This title is formated like the topic of an essay prompt which is not appropriate for the title of an article; there are no "possibilities" here. – Scyrme (talk) 22:05, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As a search term, this title is rather worthless and unclear. This redirect is a {{R with history}} with history that seems like a group of editors attempting to make some revisions to the current article between the years of 2004 and 2005. For this reason, there might be a need to retain this information and edit history, but I'm not sure. (If the determination is for this edit history to be moved, then it should be moved to a page that is not a subpage of a talk page, nor remain at its current title.) Steel1943 (talk) 19:07, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. I looked in some detail through the edit history of Atheism, and it doesn't really look like this was pasted into that page at some point, so I don't really think that there is history that needs to be preserved (and the redirect name is obviously not encyclopedic). From an edit history perspective, deleting the redirect is equivalent to deleting a blanked page at AfD. --Tryptofish (talk) 18:11, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in the target articles, leaving the connection between the redirects and the target articles clear. However, Protest atheism is a {{R with history}} that was an article for a few months during 2007 to 2008 that was subject to a WP:BLAR. Also, the original target of Protest atheism was Problem of evil, but the redirects are not mentioned there either. Steel1943 (talk) 19:01, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. I don't really think that there is an edit history that needs to be preserved, and the topic does not serve a useful navigation purpose. From an edit history perspective, deleting the redirect is equivalent to deleting a blanked page at AfD. --Tryptofish (talk) 18:13, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to 3D modelling. signed, Rosguill talk 22:27, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Due to the wording of the title and disambiguator combination, I'm not sure if this or 3D modelling would be the most appropriate target, leaving a possibly unsolvable situation with the redirect's ambiguous title. Steel1943 (talk) 08:01, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think that 3D modelling would be the better target, as while both articles are in the scope of "CGI", the 3D modelling article focuses specifically on models themselves, and as such is a closer fit to the redirect phrasing. As such, Retarget to 3D modelling. 193.37.240.37 (talk) 12:05, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was move to Doom spin-offs. Jay 💬 06:18, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The subject of the title of the redirect does not seem to be in the target article: Nothing in the target article seems to be a "spin-off" or a "homage". This redirect is a {{R from merge}} that was the result of a merge in 2009, but it doesn't seem as though the content hiding under this redirect is currently anywhere in the target article. Steel1943 (talk) 07:45, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as confusing and per WP:XY. Spinoffs is usually done by the same creators/company while homages are made by fans or other creators. --Lenticel (talk) 00:17, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: The redirect has history that may have attribution for older revisions of Doom (franchise). Consider moving this redirect to Doom spin-offs to retain the history and remove the XY issue. Anarchyte (talk) 10:01, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rip and tear[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to newly created Disambiguation page at Rip and Tear. There seems to be pretty universal consensus for disambiguation. As the disambiguated terms are all capitalized as Rip and Tear then retargeting this to the Rip and Tear DAB is the solution. (non-admin closure) TartarTorte 20:13, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in target article. The redirect is mentioned in Doom (2016 video game) as a name of a song with "Tear" capitalized, but it's not the only article on Wikipedia with a song mentioned named "Rip and Tear"; in fact, the "Rip and Tear" song mentioned in Cocked & Loaded seems as though it may pass WP:GNG if it were the subject of an article. Disambiguate among all songs mentioned onwiki. Also include Tearing (also called ripping), which is the first thing I thought of. Duckmather (talk) 00:14, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Disambiguate per Duckmather. Passes WP:TWODABS (unless someone wants to argue for a primary topic). Hatnotes wouldn't really work here; disambiguation seems list the best solution. – Scyrme (talk) 00:33, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you want someone to argue for a primary topic, then I’d argue that Tearing is the one. Surely many more readers know about materials physically tearing apart (it isn’t that hard to do!) vs. a hodgepodge of obscure songs from years ago! (However, tearing is also quite obscure as a subject of inquiry, so disambiguation is not such a far-fetched idea.) Duckmather (talk) 01:00, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. The matter started when DynCoder moved the page as the tank are never referred as T-25 Sherman. If the tank is never referred as T-25 Sherman, T-25 Sherman should not point to T-25 Medium Tank. Google searches on T-25 Sherman didn't turn up anything, the only relationship between T-25 to Shermans is that T-25 is the successor of Shermans, clarifying that they are pointing to different tanks. ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 01:53, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The other two having articles is a sound argument, and I was going to alter my vote. Not mentioned at the target page, so redirect wouldn't be particularly useful. –MJLTalk 07:32, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at the target page (this code is used at List of colors: N–Z as Orange, but it isn't used in the main article). –MJLTalk 07:31, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep and disambiguate with a hatnote. signed, Rosguill talk 22:23, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what the best course of action here is. The YouTube/Twitch channel BotezLive is hosted by both Alexandra Botez and Andrea Botez, so linking to only one of them is misleading. Could be disambiguated (suffers from WP:TWODABS), deleted, or expanded into an actual article (but unlikely to be independently notable outside of the sisters). Anarchyte (talk) 05:34, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

this might be a bit unfair to Andrea, bit I'd argue that Alexandra is the main topic per WP:ONEOTHER. She joined her sister on the channel after it had already been active, wasn't even an adult when it began and is far less notable as a chess player. If both become more notable overall a disambig page could make sense, but right now I'd just link Andrea more prominently in the beginning of Alexandras lead and keep the rest as is. --jonas (talk) 09:40, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In terms of page views, Andrea gets just under 80% of Alexandra's views (35k to 45k), so there's not much in it. Perhaps a {{redirects here}} hatnote linking to Andrea is the best course of action. Anarchyte (talk) 09:55, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have added the hatnote. Jay 💬 07:15, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 14:32, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There is no 2011 Drop Dead Fred film. The redirect goes to Drop Dead Fred#Remake, however there is nothing in the main article that discuss a possible remake. There hasn't been talks of a remake since 2009. Mike Allen 03:55, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete – The remake section did exist at one time as recent as December 2011, as you can see here, but it appears that was linked to an unreliable source. Since it was likely based on rumor or speculation, the redirect should be deleted. --GoneIn60 (talk) 04:51, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
