Unused redirects to disambiguation templates[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep most, delete the misspellings. -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:48, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unused redirects. I am developing Module:Disambiguation, which will automatically detect disambiguation pages. In order to simplify the code, it is necessary to reduce the number of redirects, so I am starting by nominating the unused redirects for deletion. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 22:01, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

non notable minor leaguer - player no longer with the Royals so no need for redirect Spanneraol (talk) 20:19, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Without a mention, this redirect is confusing because the name may be ambiguous. This is tricky, because this page and those like it seem doomed to generate such redirects over the course of time, unless there is a "Former players" section. Southeast Coast[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. "Hopelessly ambiguous" is the consensus, current target is clearly non-exclusive and there are far too many southeast coasts to disambiguate. ~ mazca talk 20:09, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't unambiguously refer to the target, delete unless a justification can be provided. Could maybe be converted to a dab but the term is so broad that it may not be worth the effort. signed, Rosguill talk 18:28, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pakistani-held Kashmir[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Kashmir#Current status and political divisions. While editors agree on retargeting to Kashmir, there's some disagreement on which section to pick. I'm closing for now in favor of the majority perspective, but there's room for further discussion there, which will likely affect related redirects as well. signed, Rosguill talk 22:07, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could also be a misspelling of Sheikh. Soumya-8974 talk contribs subpages 17:17, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Seikh" is not a misspelling, but a historic variant, commonly found in 19th-century English texts. – Uanfala (talk) 22:57, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
True; I've changed the redirect template to reflect that. So it certainly shouldn't be redirected to Sheikh in preference, though there could be a disambig note added to Sikhs. ··gracefool 💬 00:42, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh wait, this is also attested as a spelling of Shaikh. Probably best to disambiguate – the spelling is obscure for either topic, so I wouldn't like to see prominent articles adorned with hatnotes for it. – Uanfala (talk) 03:10, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant redirect. Template name changed leaving redirect, but sole incoming link has been changed to use new name, so redirect now has no links and presence of endash makes it unlikely search term, so no reason to keep. Colonies Chris (talk) 17:12, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tapete[edit]

The result of the discussion was procedurally closed, with the article restored, as RfD isn't the place for discussing articles. There are sources out there, but if anybody (Lithopsian, Onel5969?) has concerns about notability, then the place to discuss that would be WP:AfD. If the issue has to do with primary topic status, then feel free to move/disambiguate, but bear in mind that the previous target may be seen as a partial title match, and is apparently pretty obscure itself. Implausible redirects. We don't have the pages "abum" or "(abum)", so these are the only mentions of "abum" in enwiki. The only page "abum" is plausibly used on is Sumu-abum. Also see WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2020 April 1#Ablums. Seventyfiveyears (talk) 13:12, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all per nom and the consensus of that discussion I opened. These aren't stylized in the titles like this, nor should we use this questionably plausible misspelling in the disambiguators. Regards, SONIC678 23:26, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. I am unable to determine why this redirects here, other than that it might be a misspelling of Mr. Boeing. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:11, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. We have three articles about people called Boening (or Böning, the equivalent with diacritics), and "Mr." is too generic to distinguish between them. Narky Blert (talk) 08:27, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as "Mr. Boeing" is not even mentioned on Jackson's page of that nickname so it fails MOS:DABMENTION. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 20:57, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
