This page got about 43 pageviews since July 2015, while its correctly spelled cousins (which are worth keeping, since it's the first album AC/DC released internationally) High Voltage (International album) and High Voltage (international album) got far more during that time period, possibly because of the misspelling that was part of the reason it was moved back in 2006. Not sure how useful it is now... Regards, SONIC678 22:06, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete for the reasons stated above by nom. Clearly a spelling mistake which should have been corrected a long time ago. Dan arndt (talk) 09:11, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. No-one called St Nicholas is associated with Wismar. This redirect would be more appropriate to a person than a building; the missing space after the comma compounds the error. Narky Blert (talk) 21:58, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

First one originally nominated for speedy deletion by @UnitedStatesian with the reason "redirected subpage no longer needed for redirected project" FASTILY 07:44, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Adding next three that fall into the same type; this is pretty standard housekeeping in the WikiProject space by members of WP:WikiProject Council and others in the interest of simplification, including in the searchbox. UnitedStatesian (talk) 14:13, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep all to avoid breaking links. This project was independent for a pretty long time, and I don't see how deleting its former subpages simplifies anything. That definitely shouldn't be classified as mere housekeeping. Glades12 (talk) 17:24, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep all per Glades; no reason to delete provided – unneeded should not be a rationale for the deletion of redirects. J947 [cont] 20:57, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

One of over a hundred redirects for characters not mentioned at League of Legends or anywhere else in Wikipedia (besides list of fictional scientists and engineers which would not be an appropriate target). We do not appear to have a list of League of Legends characters. There is a mention of a real Dr. Mundo at Mundo, California. Mundo (disambiguation)#People doesn't mention any other doctors. Not sure whether to retarget to Mundo, California or delete & let the search engine do its job. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 05:28, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List of prestige classes[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was no consensus. The overlap between this discussion and Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2020_May_22#Prestige_class, coupled with the lack of a clear consensus here, makes this discussion nigh impossible to close properly. I would suggest that editors participate at the linked discussion if they have not done so already, and revisit this issue once that discussion has been closed. signed, Rosguill talk 23:08, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Overly vague redirect - a large number of games have "prestige classes" making this unsuitable to be recreated after the deletion of the page. While I would suggest a rename to "List of prestige classes in Dungeons & Dragons", I fail to see the purpose of such a redirect in that case. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 04:56, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. The purpose of the redirect is that this article existed for a long time before it was AFD'd. It's harmless and useful if links external to Wikipedia exist ( WP:RFD#KEEP #4). The claim that "lots of games have prestige classes" is false; and if the phrasing crops up elsewhere occasionally, those uses certainly are not notable enough for a Wikipedia article, and there's no need for pre-emptive disambiguation. SnowFire (talk) 14:21, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per SnowFire. --evrik (talk) 16:06, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Incoming redirects mean very little when we can't actually deliver on the promise of a redirect. The status quo makes more sense when you know Prestige class links to the same place. It's strictly true that a few prestige classes are listed (in prose) as examples, but they are also discussed in other contexts in the same article. The redirect gives the impression of a specific section or article that we don't have and are unlikely to create in the future. I can't stand for this sort of misleading of readers. --BDD (talk) 19:10, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate - specifically, turn Prestige class into a disambiguation page, and retarget this redirect to that. BOZ (talk) 19:24, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alternatively, incorporate coverage into Character class. This is better suited to WP:BCA than strict disambiguation. (Note to closer: While this would be a positive step regardless, I would still have concerns about a "List of" redirect.) --BDD (talk) 19:42, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • What exactly is being disambiguated here? I don't see the point until there's something else with an article or a section of an article called "prestige class." SnowFire (talk) 01:23, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - I agree with Zxcvbnm that this redirect is overly vague. Plus it points to a subsection heading within another article. I know this technique has fans, but it is almost never used in a way that complies with guidelines.

Wikilinks and redirects to subsection headings absolutely require those subsection headings to be protected by "anchors".

Our WMF software does not fully support wikilinks to subsection headings. This isn't really a problem in the wikipedia namespace, where this technique is widely used, and subsection headings are rarely changed. It is, in my opinion, represents a terrible weakness, in article space.

With regular webpages web designers don't know how many other web pages link to their pages. Sometimes we get an error 404 when a regular webpage is deleted. But we can get a 404 when the web designer corrects the spelling of part of the URL. Properly formed wikilinks don't break, because our move function leaves a redirect behind. Clever robots find double redirects, and make sure they always point to the most recent location of the page. But wikilinks that point to a subsection within an article are as fragile as regular non-wiki webpages. Even changing the punctuation or capitalization of the section heading breaks the link.

In almost all cases when a topic merits a wikilink, it merits a standalone wikipage. If it hasn't been written yet it is probably best to be left as a redlink. We can put a redlink on our watchlist. We can't put a subsection of an article on our watchlist.

What links here is broken by the use of wikilinks to subsecton headings.

I agree with this draft dab, recently created by an IP. Geo Swan (talk) 01:20, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was redirect Voxatron, delete Humble Bundle. signed, Rosguill talk 23:04, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Voxatron should go to either List of PC games (V) or Voxel, where it receives a brief mention. I think I lean towards List of PC games (V); although there is slightly less info there, the info can be obtained from the citation.

I'm interested in the consensus on the two Humble Bundle redirects since the Humble Bundle page has a number of these. I propose these two are deleted since there is no mention at the target. These went to a specific section for a Humble Bundle titled "Humble Voxatron Debut", but this section was removed in favor of a linked list. The list in question was eventually deleted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Humble Bundles (2nd nomination). In theory, these redirects should have been retargeted to the list article, and then deleted per WP:G8 along with the list.

The result of the discussion was speedy delete. As a strictly inferior redirect (having incorrect capitalization, not that it matters), a delete there implies a delete here as the same arguments apply. King of ♥ 05:21, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

About a month ago, there was a discussion regarding the redirects Obama Bin Laden and Obama bin Laden. Those redirects were deleted for In its current form, it is not an attack on anyone, but it is pointing at the incorrect target as "Obama bin Laden" is much more likely to be an attack on Barack Obama than a misspelling of Osama bin Laden. But to modify the target would make it an attack. Hence there is no suitable target. by King of Hearts. I do not know how this redirect (which has the exact same title) was not nominated for deletion for the same reason. But I see WP:BLP and WP:ATTACK issues with this redirect as well. The result of the discussion was move Gorr the Golden Gorilla (character) over the redirect. --BDD (talk) 18:48, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As below, I suggest if the two separate topics, Gorr the Golden Gorilla and Gorr the God Butcher are worth covering, at all, they should each be covered at their own standalone article. Gorr (comics) should either be a redlink, a disambiguation page, or a list article, listing all the series the firm published. Geo Swan (talk) 03:00, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. Disambiguation pages with qualified titles such as (comics) are bot-categorised into Category:Disambiguation pages with (qualified) titles - a cleanup category. They are almost always errors. Narky Blert (talk) 07:12, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have gone ahead and revamped Gorr (comics) as a disambiguation page. Gorr the Golden Gorilla should be deleted so that name can be available for Gorr the Golden Gorilla (character). Trailblazer101 (talk) 18:17, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was procedural close. Nominator has converted the redirect into an article. --BDD (talk) 18:44, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Circa 2016 Gorr (comics), which described a single series of comics, was changed to some kind of conjoined twin article, that had two separate topics, Gorr the Golden Gorilla and Gorr the God Butcher. In my opinion, if these two comic book characters are worth covering, at all, they should each be covered at their own standalone article. As for Gorr (comics), it should either be a redlink, a list article, or a disambiguation page, depending on whether they ever published anything beyond these two series. Geo Swan (talk) 02:46, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

update

The article is misleading. Both comics are published by Marvel. So Gorr (comics) should definitely be a disambiguation page. Geo Swan (talk) 00:56, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Geo Swan, the proposals you've made above (and in the other nomination for Gorr the Golden Gorilla) seem out of scope for RfD. If you think that the content of Gorr (comics) should be changed, you're free to boldly make edits there or start a discussion on its talk page, and then take whatever action is most appropriate with the redirects. signed, Rosguill talk 23:01, 25 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

With the exception of List of Flash animated films all the instances where this redirect is used ALSO has a nearby link to Amy Pascal. In cases like this it is far far better to leave the wikilink as a redlink. Turning it into a redirect obfuscates that the article hasn't been written yet -- making the job of wikipedia contributors more complicate. For readers it is confusing because two nearby wikilinks lead to the same article, annoying them, or making them wonder if they are going senile.

I am requesting deletion of the redirect. Geo Swan (talk) 01:30, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
