The result of the discussion was speedy keep. Withdrawn. Character is the correct icon. (non-admin closure) Hog Farm (talk) 02:10, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I can't tell if this is my operating system or if this is really the wrong flag, but this is appearing to me as an all-black flag, which the flag of Mississippi is not. Attempting to Google this unicode character brings up hits for "Flag of Wales" and "Flag of England". If this is the correct character, and it's just not displaying on my system correctly, I'll withdraw this. Hog Farm (talk) 23:59, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Universidad de Misuri[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 04:28, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No strong connection between the Spanish language and modern Missouri, delete per WP:RFFL. Misuri itself is phonetical enough I'd consider that to be reasonably plausible, RFFL aside, but this is clearly Spanish. Hog Farm (talk) 23:54, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Missouri#Language is about what I expected: The Spanish language is spoken in small Latino communities in the St. Louis and Kansas City Metro areas. The university has a Spanish major, but that's not a strong enough connection. -- Tavix (talk) 01:13, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep because la universidad es español majoridad. --Soumyabrata talk contribs subpages 04:27, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • I don't know if you're trying to say in that incorrect Spanish (not very helpful for a discussion in English) that the university has a majority Spanish-speaking student body, but your source doesn't say that anyway. It says you can "major" in Spanish, which means that the subject you get most of your credits in is Spanish. From my experience most universities in the UK provide at least French, Spanish and German, and I imagine the same in the USA, should all have a redirect in those languages? Heck, most universities offer computer science degrees, should we have redirects in binary code or Java? Wallachia Wallonia (talk) 14:47, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete No serious link between this establishment, its area and the Spanish language. Basically all states and cities in the US have Latino communities to some extent, but Missouri doesn't seem to be like Miami or Albuquerque Wallachia Wallonia (talk) 14:47, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per WP:FORRED. --Soumyabrata talk contribs subpages 04:28, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Universtiy[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete although I'm sympathetic to J947's protest as the collected time that it took people to nominate these redirects, vote on them, and for me to review their history and do due diligence before deleting them could likely have been better spent doing something else. signed, Rosguill talk 23:07, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

These redirects, some left over from page moves and a couple others having at first been duplicate articles, don't seem to get many pageviews compared to their targets and/or correctly spelled counterparts, regardless of whether we've heard of any Universtiies, the base title for which has never existed. Thinking it's time for deletion of these redirects, merging any relevant history. Regards, SONIC678 22:59, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 23:04, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure how plausible this misspelling is, these pages seem to get few pageviews compared to their targets, and the Taiwan one started out as a duplicate article while the others were left over from moves...whether or not we've attended prestigious uiversities universities. Regards, SONIC678 14:44, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Uambiguously created in error, useless juk. Note that Uiversity has never existed. Narky Blert (talk) 15:08, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as unambiguous and helpful (albeit only occasionally). J947 [cont] 20:58, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

    • The people who do this typo are helped. Ajf773, what is to be gained by deleting these redirects? J947 [cont] 21:03, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No mention in article 🌸 1.Ayana 🌸 (talk) 12:36, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The fact does not justify undertaking a discussion. The redirect is fully justified. What is needed is just to add the mention into the article. I have done it. Keep the redirect.noychoH (talk) 14:36, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2020 May 2#2015 FIA WTCC Race of Russia – having these articles as redirects discourages article creation. A7V2 (talk) 08:44, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This misspelling can be useful in some cases, but I'm not sure about these eight which didn't seem to get very many pageviews in 2019... Regards, SONIC678 05:45, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep; no reason to nominate or delete these redirects. J947 [cont] 06:16, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all. Undoubtedly created in error, useless clutter. Narky Blert (talk) 08:07, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all: It looks like many of these were the results of actually being typoed at their creations back in the 2000s, rather than intentional redirect alternatives. Absent any evidence that any of these schools were misspelled in some prominent source, I don't think there's much chance that these particular schools are going to be typoed exactly this way again. Also, these days, the updated wiki search engine (Wikipedia:CirrusSearch) is likely to return fuzzy/similar-looking results even if someone were to add the extra L on the end. --Closeapple (talk) 09:21, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Still, there's nothing to be gained by deleting these redirects. J947 [cont] 20:57, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ddellette all pperr nnomm. Immppllaussibblle rreddirrecctt. --Soumyabrata talk contribs subpages 04:34, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all per Soumya-8974.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 04:03, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all nobody misspells school. Useless. Thats like misspelling city as "cite" or "Citi". Matthewishere0 (talk) 14:14, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Matthewishere0, these errors are mainly caused from a keyboard typo rather than a misspelling. These redirects were created mostly by accident; that's proof that the typos do occur. What is to be gained by deleting these redirects? J947 [cont] 00:09, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • J947, If it is a keyboard typo, then the user will most likely notice anyway. And if these pages are allowed to have redirects, does the same apply to every page name where someone commits a typo, this is just useless clutter. Matthewishere0 (talk) 01:21, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • @Matthewishere0: The typo is in most of the redirects is at the last letter; there's practically no time to notice a mistake. See RHARMFUL: these redirects aren't useless and that's not a reason to delete them anyway. Again, what is to be gained by deleting these redirects? J947 [cont] 03:07, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all G6 unambiguously created in error. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 16:38, 12 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • It isn't uncontroversial maintenance if a guideline directly contadicts it. J947 [cont] 03:07, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • @J947: Redirects are not designed to deprecate our search function. Therefore, let the search function do its job. --Soumya-8974 talk contribs subpages 12:44, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • @Soumya-8974: Even assuming that is true; why delete? What is to be gained by deleting this redirect? Letting the search function do its job is an fair reason to not create a redirect, but it's quicker with a redirect and thus meaningless to delete. Keep in mind that the search function isn't the best and it often fails without a redirect to guide it. J947 [cont] 20:35, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 14:37, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, another similar case to this!, except without the deletion of the correctly spelled article (which is the target and thus worth keeping). Regards, SONIC678 01:24, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep both as useless to nominate and no reason to delete. J947 [cont] 05:22, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both. Unambiguously created in error, useless junk. Narky Blert (talk) 08:08, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
