December 4[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on December 4, 2020.

Voicenotes 2[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. Unmentioned at target and potentially ambiguous. ~ mazca talk 18:48, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete all. These redirects are not mentioned at the target page. Voicenotes 2 was mentioned in the album section of the target page, but it was removed by another user because no reliable sources have confirmed it to be the name of an album. CountyCountry (talk) 23:21, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. This is potentially ambiguous and without a mention is confusing. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:37, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fälish[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 20:31, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in target. Hildeoc (talk) 19:41, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It was supposedly a sort of subtype mentioned in some outdated German works.[1] FunkMonk (talk) 19:52, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: In racial theories of the early 20th century there was a "fälische Rasse" (see de:Fälische Rasse), a supposed sub-race in northern Germany. The corresponding German lemma would be "fälisch". "fälish" is neither English (because of the ä), nor German (because of the sh) - suppose it's a typo, caused by German sch being pronounced like English sh. --Rsk6400 (talk) 20:34, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the source I linked above uses exactly that English form, Fälish. FunkMonk (talk) 20:49, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are right, the term really seems to have been used in English by Günther in the 1930s. But I still don't think it's notable enough, not even for a redirect. --Rsk6400 (talk) 21:04, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: The term isn't mentioned anywhere on Wikipedia. Should it be?

Pomme Terre[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Pomme de Terre. Overall, there is a weak consensus that this might be a plausible misspelling of places named "Pomme de Terre", per WP:RKEEP#5. (non-admin closure) (t · c) buidhe 13:09, 5 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect from French (though it should be pomme de terre), no reason why people would be searching for the French name of it, as no strong connections between France and potatos Joseph2302 (talk) 16:06, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, noting that the correct French spelling exists as a dab page, capitalised as Pomme de Terre, for various placenames. Rosbif73 (talk) 16:16, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Pomme de Terre ( the disambiguation page). This seems to me a fairly plausible misspelling of the French word which is explained at the disambiguation page. A7V2 (talk) 07:58, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, CycloneYoris talk! 19:36, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Because it is a plausible misspelling (given that it is, after all, French) of the various places listed on Pomme de Terre? A7V2 (talk) 22:30, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And note that none of those place names are in France or Francophone areas. While obviously derived from French, they are English place names. --BDD (talk) 18:36, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I cannot imagine it being any possible use to anybody. William Avery (talk)
  • Delete although it might be a realistic search item if you were at a "posh" restaurant for whom the mention of potato would be too lowering, and you really wanted to know what justified the exorbitant price tag.  Velella  Velella Talk   15:45, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Pomme de Terre. Don't see why not. --BDD (talk) 18:36, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Pomme de Terre. If someone is looking for one of the places they will be able to find what they are looking for, and if someone is looking for the article for potato the disambiguation page is even kind enough to include a link to potato. ―NK1406 talkcontribs 03:53, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Drawlatch[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Latch#Common types. signed, Rosguill talk 18:31, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Drawlatch is more likely a plausible term of "Draw latch", which is a tool. However, its not mentioned at the target, so delete unless justification can be provided. Seventyfiveyears (talk) 13:54, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Theodore Hughes[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete -- JHunterJ (talk) 15:38, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A redirect to a DAB page, on which all the people are Edward not Theodore. A Theodore Hughes is linked in James B. Palais Book Prize. Delete to encourage article creation if justified. WP:PRECISE applies. Narky Blert (talk) 12:36, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to The Journal of Korean Studies, who's editor from 2016 - 2020 was Theodore Hughes. This appears to be the same person who won the James B. Palais Book Prize. The only other 2 mentions of a Theodore Hughes I could find in Wikipedia were 2 citations of his work. 192.76.8.93 (talk) 15:21, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Current target is no good as there are no Theodores on that page. I don't think retargeting to The Journal of Korean Studies is much better as it is more than likely going to surprise someone searching for this name, the name is in a very small sentence so the page contains virtually no information about this person, and it should come up in search anyway. Perhaps a better target would be Teddy Hughes where mention could be made to the editor of the journal, but then that assumes he was known as Teddy (I suppose that Teddy Hughes could be moved to Theodore but again, I don't know if that's appropriate). A7V2 (talk) 04:17, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Comment (nom). Theodore Roosevelt was widely known as Teddy but Theodore Williams as Ted (and for his colourful language). Both Ted Hughes and Teddy Taylor were christened Edward. I don't think either Ted Hughes (disambiguation) or Teddy Hughes would be a good target; choice of hypocorism is a matter of individual taste. Narky Blert (talk) 08:19, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what this redirect is supposed to refer to. Jalen Folf (talk) 01:49, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete This is the name of a band that performed at the concert, they're listed under the 2015 section. I don't think it's particularly helpful to redirect a band to a concert where they are given little more than a passing mention, and there are other concerts where they are listed as acts that would also be valid targets e.g. Nature One and Parookaville. 192.76.8.93 (talk) 14:14, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It does not make sense to redirect a music artist to a music festival where their only listing is a part of a lineup. Jalen Folf (talk) 01:49, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, as a by-performance.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  05:46, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, There are multiple articles about festivals where these artists are given passing mention in a list, e.g. Klaudia Gawlas also appears in Sea You Festival, Time Warp Festival and others. People searching for these artists are unlikely to find what they want at a page about a festival they appeared at, and there doesn't seem to be any kind of significant connection between these artists and the festival. 192.76.8.93 (talk) 14:48, 4 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was move Palazzo della Ragione (disambiguation) to Palazzo della Ragione. This one should've been a move request. I'm going to request this move at WP:RM/TR since only administrators are able to complete moves. (non-admin closure) Seventyfiveyears (talk) 19:21, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There exist also Palazzo della Ragione, Milan and Palazzo della Ragione (disambiguation). The DAB page includes two other currently red-linked palazzi della ragione, and a building formerly called "Palazzo della Ragione". I would re-target to the disambiguation page.
