...is this really the purpose of Wikipedia? Potentially fails WP:R#DELETE criterion 3. Utopes (talk) 21:50, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Google tells me this is a meme, but offers no evidence that it has gained notability (it doesn't even have its own page at Know Your Meme) and there is (and should be) no mention of it in the target article. Thryduulf (talk) 13:43, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. About as valid as "yeet" redirecting to "throw." Triacylglyceride (talk) 13:51, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Triacylglyceride, what are you opposing? The deletion of the redirect or its existence? --Paul_012 (talk) 15:30, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yeet has been speedily deleted seven times (G1, G7, A3, A11) and has been salted since 2015, but it has never been a redirect, to throw or anywhere else. Wiktionary wikt:yeet includes this as a word originating on the internet and popularised in 2014 that has several definitions, including "To throw an object a long distance or with a sudden or forceful motion." with citations from 2018 and 2019. So this could be a !vote to keep it as a popular culture redirect, or it could be a !vote to delete it as "yeet" would not be a good redirect to "throw" as other definitions of the word are a type of dance and "to move quickly". Ignition device[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Ignition (disambiguation). (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 17:41, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps retarget to Ignition interlock device, else delete per WP:XY. The target makes no mention of the term, and it could just as well mean a safety match or a spark plug (which according to my Internet search seems a common crossword answer for this clue) or almost anything capable of starting combustion. 94.21.78.76 (talk) 16:12, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Media propaganda[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. The issue of what to do with the target article falls outside the scope of this RfD, but it can and should be discussed elsewhere (e.g. the article's talk page), and the redirect can be renominated if appropriate. (non-admin closure) ComplexRational (talk) 21:03, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as WP:XY. There was an RfD discussion at the end of last year resulting in a speedy "retarget", but not to address the XY issue (it used to target Ethnic stereotype).

There are possible targets Propaganda and Propaganda through media (and perhaps others), hence XY. I will argue elsewhere that since all propaganda requires a medium through which to propagate, the very title "Propaganda through media" is ill-conceived, but considering that there are no incoming links in article space, and that it never gets more than a couple of hits per day, deletion is the best option for this redirect.

User:MarioGom has suggested by that the target be merged or deleted, but that has not been formally proposed. 94.21.78.76 (talk) 14:39, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as the target most closely matches what someone is likely to be looking for using this search term (if they wanted the general propaganda article they almost certainly wouldn't qualify it, and it's linked in the very first sentence of the target anyway). Thryduulf (talk) 14:25, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep You can find a lot of references to propaganda in the media when do a search given the current concern over propaganda in the social media, it is therefore a likely search term. Perhaps the target article is not well-conceived (it is primarily about propaganda in the social media), but deleting the redirect serves no useful purpose at all. Arguably it can be redirected to Propaganda instead, although people searching for "media propaganda" would likely have a more specific issue in mind, e.g. propaganda in broadcasting, news media, or social media. There is an entry for Media of propaganda in Encyclopedia Britannica under Propaganda, perhaps the target article can be rewritten in that vein, or simply change it to "Propaganda in the social media", but that is a separate issue from the redirect. The result of the discussion was disambiguate. by restoring the disambiguation page. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 17:45, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Arsura" is not mentioned at the target Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:20, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Restore the disambiguation and all articles that made up the disambiguation, and retarget the diacritic versions to the restored articles respectively per the result of discussions at wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2019 September 25. I see the cleanup from those indiscriminate redirections is still ongoing. -- Tavix (talk) 13:37, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
