This might reasonably apply to other climbers besides Mr. Ralston. I've found a few articles where he's described in similar terms, but no indication that it's his particular nickname. Cheers, gnu57 22:51, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - non-neutral, generic term. -Zanhe (talk) 09:21, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - nothing specific to this particular climber.Onel5969 TT me 11:47, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. WP:NPOV violation that is not an alternative name of the target. Steel1943 (talk) 13:35, 23 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment There is nothing wrong with having a non-neutral name for a redirect. So, this isn't a WP:BLP or WP:NPOV violation. As I understand it, from administrators like Thryduulf who commented at Creepy porn lawyer, our standards for neutrality and BLP issues are much lower with redirects. We even have a non-neutral tag by which we can tag redirects. Having said that, I don't see this being a common nickname for Aron Ralston. I suspect a fan of his redirected this positive view of him to his Wikipedia article. So, I'd tend to favour delete here. Also, per nom, who said it best as well, it's too generic: there's lots of "bad ass climbers" and not a clear primary topic. As an alternative, we could, in theory, create a dab page? ;-) --Doug Mehus T·C 01:40, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Dmehus: read WP:RNEUTRAL. It's not that our standards are lower, it's just that different considerations can apply. It's not quite correct to say that "there is nothing wrong with having a non-neutral name for redirect", rather "some non-neutral redirects are appropriate". In this specific case it's definitely not a BLP-violation and while it is non-neutral that's not the most significant issue. The issue with this redirect is that it's a generic description that is not specific to the target - while he may be a bad ass climber it is not used as a nickname or similar for him and other climbers have an equal claim to the description. If we had a List of climbers described as bad ass or List of bad ass climbers or similar then this would make a fine redirect to it, but we don't so delete as ambiguous is the best course of action. This is a redirect from a broad topic to one particular incident involving toys manufactured in China. I think that a redlink would be more useful, since currently list of Chinese games and toys doesn't exist. (There's a short mention of traditional games and toys at Chinese culture#Leisure, but it's really insubstantial). Cheers, gnu57 22:32, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - misleading redirect. -Zanhe (talk) 09:20, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. "Melky" is ambiguous and is the given name of several notable people with articles. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 19:24, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Why not just make it that then? Your !vote is self-contradictory. Geolodus (talk) 07:32, 23 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Electreon[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) feminist (talk) 16:37, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Suspect this is more likely to be accessed as a misspelling of electron, rather than Electreon technology. ~~ OxonAlex - talk 18:45, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. This is the exact spelling for Electreon technology, so the redirect is unambiguous and will lead readers to the correct target (per WP:R#ASTONISH). There are other misspellings of electron that don't have or need redirects, and electron should appear in the search results as this is being typed. No need to keep an {{R from typo}} when a better target exists. ComplexRational (talk) 00:41, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as described in the article, but hatnote to Electron in case they made a typo. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:29, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at target. Was originally created as a redirect to Chaos Kid, then retargeted to his group, Soul Intent, then retargeted again to Eminem. Since Chaos Kid's article has been deleted, and the Soul Intent article only exists as a redirect to Eminem. The only other option here, is delete. Max Asher[edit]

The result of the discussion was disambiguate. @AngusWOOF:, can you get the draft ready now? (non-admin closure) ミラP 20:29, 27 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There's a Draft:Max Asher that proposes that it be disambiguated. Currently it redirects to Warrant, but there is now an actor page that got through to mainspace and two other redirects to television shows that have a main character with the same name but no further information beyond that they are named in the cast. Should Max Asher point to the band member, the actor, or the disambiguation page in draft? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:45, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@FloridaArmy:, @I dream of horses:, @Theroadislong: who edited and/or reviewed the disambiguation draft. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 00:46, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate. Max Asher is a frequently occurring name. Ambrosiawater (talk) 08:28, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate, obviously. Multiple persons of some notability with same name. Redirecting to a band that one of them played in was just weird. FloridaArmy (talk) 20:00, 23 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
