C10H13O3 was created by mistake: N5 is missing. I have not found molecule in enWiki with formula C10H13O3. I propose to delete it. Gyimhu (talk) 23:36, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Previous discussion: Talk:LiSA (Japanese musician, born 1987)#Requested move

I get the logic of 2014 that eventually resulted in this becoming a redirect to Lisa (disambiguation). However, I would like to revisit this matter. When someone types in liSA or LiSA into a search bar, I am of the opinion that they are looking for LiSA (Japanese musician, born 1987), and if not would be serviced by a simple hatnote linking to Lisa (Japanese musician, born 1974) and LISA (disambiguation) (Template:About would be serviceable here).

I therefore suggest this be retargeted to LiSA (Japanese musician, born 1987)MJLTalk 22:31, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wrong forum since the current target would be renamed "LiSA" in this case per WP:PRECISE; this is actually a move request. Steel1943 (talk) 22:38, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Also, for what it's worth, I vote keep all for everything since per the linked discussion above, for English speakers, none of the subjects at Lisa#People are rather notable in their own right, and don't really qualify to have any specific version/capitalization of "Lisa" refer to any specific subject (or "singer" or "Japanese singer" subject) since it is confusing. As shown in Lisa#People, singers who use this mononym are French of Japanese (3 Japanese singers), and all three Japanese singers all use different capitalizations in their stylization: LISA, lisa, and LiSA. For English speakers (since this is the English Wikipedia), it potentially does our readers a disservice to direct them to one specific subject when they themselves probably don't even know which one they are trying to locate. Steel1943 (talk) 22:45, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Steel1943: I would say LiSA has a large enough fanbase in the English speaking world to deserve that awfully specific stylization. Either way, is this really the wrong forum, though? Should I close this and make a move request? –MJLTalk 23:35, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@MJL: My opinion aside about this request (and you can believe I'm going to reiterate this in any future requests ), yes, it would probably be better to put this on Talk:LiSA (Japanese musician, born 1987) since this is indeed technically a move request due to the WP:PRECISE title change claim, and so this request gets advertised properly. (That, and keep in mind, the subject being at its current title is listed as an example of how to disambiguate titles at WP:SINGERDAB.) Steel1943 (talk) 00:01, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No mention at the target, looking this up online, Lonely Mountains is a game developed by a German team named Megagon Industries signed, Rosguill talk 20:02, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: The game was published by Thunderful Publishing, which is, of course, a subsidiary of Thunderful, the same parent company that Image & Form has. Neither Thunderful nor Thunderful publishingg has an article, but Thunderful (out of many possible targets) redirects to Image & Form, so this might be how the connection came about. However, this redirect goes three corners to reach its non-existent destination, so it might as well be deleted. Lordtobi () 20:21, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Shootdown[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Move Shootdown (disambiguation) to Shootdown; keep Aircraft shootdown as is. (non-admin closure) Steel1943 (talk) 20:50, 19 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is likely to be an encyclopedic topic, there are other lists of shootdowns, and the current target provides no context. The article previously at this title was proposed for deletion as an (allegedly inaccurate) dictionary definition not supported by its sources. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 15:25, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think I agree that it's an encyclopedic topic, but how much would we have to say? Wiktionary mentions satellites can be shot down. I was going to say drones, but I guess they're aircraft, and there are some mentioned at the target list. Redirecting "Foo" to "List of foo" isn't optimal IMO, but it's pretty standard practice. --BDD (talk) 17:11, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • The "article" previously at this title said that shootdowns were the deliberate downing of an aircraft. Firstly, that is not allegedly inaccurate, it is blindingly obviously inaccurate. There are many ways to down an aircraft other than shooting it down. Secondly, that is not much of an article to speak of. I'm not sure what action the OP is asking for. If they want an article at this title, just go and write one. There is no obstacle to doing that. If no one is ready to write an article, then the current redirect can just be left in place. C19H24ClN3 was created by mistake: formula of Binedaline is …H23… not …H24Cl…. There is no molecule in enWiki with formula C19H24ClN3. I propose to delete it. Gyimhu (talk) 02:23, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note: this nomination was not completed (article was not tagged, header was not included, editors were not notified). I have done so. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 23:23, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - ChemSpider (a site I just discovered) suggests that this is binedaline hydrochloride, but it could be pulling that data from Wikipedia (an example of erroneous redirects being harmful if so). I'm going to tag WP:WikiProject Pharmacology for input here. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 23:29, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I came here from the note at the WikiProject. Regardless of whether the formula is correct or not, it's truly useless as a redirect, because there are multiple ways this combination of atoms can be assembled into chemical structures, so there is nothing to make it unique to the target page, or to make it useful as a search term. --Tryptofish (talk) 23:45, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • If that's the case, I'll defer to it. But my personal opinion, for whatever that may be worth, is still that this is a strange way to use a redirect. --Tryptofish (talk) 18:39, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: The formula is found in this form in the following sources: [1], [2], [3]. — the Man in Question (in question) 06:32, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. It is standard to have redirects from the names of drug salt forms ("drugname hydrochloride") to the article which WP:MOSPHARM says should always titled by parent compound ("drugname"). Redirects from molecular formulas to drug articles are also standard. There is no reason not to have redirects from molecular formulas of salt forms as well. Redirects are cheap and C19H24ClN3 is a valid one for binedaline because it is the molecular formula for binedaline hydrochloride, the salt form that is actually used in the pharmaceutical product. -- Ed (Edgar181) 10:54, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as it is a valid formula redirecting to the most useful article for it. Having the article mention "binedaline hydrochloride" would be a good idea. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:03, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

suggest deletion? - not clear why this redirect exists - the target appears to have no connection with Russell McCloud Gilgamesh4 (talk) 09:34, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am talking about this request to delete the re-direct. I think at this time it might be best to put it on hold, but with a nice warning that it will get deleted if someone does not find a link between the two that is not another Wikipedia page.Slatersteven (talk) 09:52, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep per the same rationale I posted at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2018 November 15#File:Kulavadhu-film-poster.jpg ... minus the WP:TROUT-ing: "...The redirect is not causing any harm, considering that name requirements for redirects in the “File:” namespace do not necessary have to be useful search terms, especially if the redirect is a {{R from move}}. In addition, the redirect does not shadow the title of a page on Wikimedia Commons, meaning that it’s not causing any technical issues that need to be resolved by deleting the redirect per {{Db-redircom}}." Steel1943 (talk) 17:18, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Steel943. The only reasons to delete an R from move in the file namespace are is if it is (a) shaddowing Commons, or (b) inappropriate (e.g. a BLP violation). This is neither. Thryduulf (talk) 14:19, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
