Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram was never known as "Kalyanasundaranar", and there is no mention of that name in the his article. I can't find any other worthy article to redirect this to. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:51, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. The article was at this title for seven years prior to being moved two weeks ago, so there are likely to be incoming links which would be broken by deleting this. A Google search for "Kalyanasundaranar" does turn up results relating to Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram, though some of that is due to the article title, and I can't work out precisely where the title comes from, or what it means in relation to the target (substituting the suffix "ranar" for "ram" doesn't seem to be an Indian honorific or diminutive). – Arms & Hearts (talk) 19:04, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Arms & Hearts. Thryduulf (talk) 11:44, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: There are no mainspace links to the article. Here are the articles containing the world "Kalyanasundaranar". Maybe we could redirect this to one of them? I think K. Anbazhagan might be a good target. --Kailash29792 (talk) 10:28, 24 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: I've requested more eyes on this at Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics. What's really needed here is some clarity on the meaning of the name and its relation to the current target. If it weren't for the fact of this article having been at this title for so long, I'd support retargeting to K. Anbazhagan, but it's hard to recommend that when it seems possible that Kalyanasundaram is in fact the most prominent person to be known by this name, and it's just not reflected in the article. If we were to retarget, I don't even know what a hatnote for the current target would say (and again, given the history, there really should be one). – Arms & Hearts (talk) 20:36, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Thiru. V. Kalyanasundaram for now. As this stamp and accompanying write-up issued by the Indian government show, Thiru. V. Kalyanasundaram's last name was sometimes rendered with that alternate spelling/transliteration. If later, we can establish that to be true for Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram and others too, the redirect can be turned into a disamb. page. Abecedare (talk) 21:35, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Targets Koi#Human Face Fish. R to broken anchor and subject not mentioned at target.  — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  04:07, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Restore article without prejudice to AfD. The sourced article content at Human Face Fish was merged to Koi in 2011 [1], without much if any discussion by the now-retired ClaretAsh. It was removed with this edit by Lawrencekhoo in 2012 as not being at type of koi - I can't find any associated discussion. I don't think it is likely a standalone article is justified (but I've not searched for additional sources) but a merge to Common carp might. Accordingly I think a discussion at a suitable venue (which RfD definitely isn't) with the options of keeping as a standalone article, merging (to Common carp or elsewhere) and deletion is the best way forward. The present situation of a redirect without content at the target is not appropriate. Thryduulf (talk) 09:57, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. The merger and redirect, and subsequent removal of the content from the target, seem reasonable to me given the very weak case for notability (or the significance required to merit a mention in another article) of a topic that amounts to an individual fish with a vaguely human-looking face that received some minor news coverage some years ago. (I don't know if we have a guideline that addresses topics like these, but the final sentence of WP:ROUTINE comes quite close.) It's not even the only such fish to have been the subject of news articles: see this carp caught in China and a shark caught in Turkey, both in 2016. Neither the fish in question nor the broader phenomena of fish that resemble humans is discussed in the target or in any other article, so the redirect is of no use to the reader. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 21:30, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - I know that Wikipedia talks about a wide variety of topics, but a concept article on "Wow, that fish totally looks like a person!" is like... I feel like I can invoke a sort of WP:NOTBUZZFEED / WP:NOT4CHAN / etc here. Arms & Hearts pretty much nailed it with that comment. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 10:48, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Arms & Hearts: that is a discussion of the content though, not the redirect, which is why I suggest taking this to AfD where it can be properly examined - it wouldn't meet the speedy deletion criteria as an article so it shouldn't be deleted without being examined as an article. Thryduulf (talk) 14:19, 7 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • I don't really agree. This has been a redirect for over seven years, in which time no one's sought to restore the article or suggested doing so at the talk page, nor has anyone suggested doing so here. There might be some similar cases where there's no clear consensus as to whether an article is needed – most obviously the rare occasions when someone turns an article into a redirect and immediately nominates the redirect. In this case though the consensus that the topic doesn't require an article is clear and established, so I don't see any harm in deleting the redirect without consideration for the former article. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 20:07, 7 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

EONM.org[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Jacqueline Keeler. Main opposition by most of delete !votes is that there's no content at the target, so a retarget would seem to effectively allay that concern. ~ Amory (utc) 01:15, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at target, and is very confusing. The redirect refers to the activist group "Eradicating Offensive Native Mascotry", but that's just because the article that the wikilink was on gave necessary context.  — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  21:09, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. eonm.org as well as notyourmascots.org used to exist but no longer, and there are no Wayback archives to point to any information where they used to be. Eradicating Offensive Native Mascotry exists, and I just redirected that one to Jacqueline Keeler, who appears in a bunch of news articles as the co-founder the organization [2] [3] I'm creating EONM. News articles have referred simply to Eradicating Offensive Native Mascotry or EONM without the .org part. Archives were found, so striking that statement. Still, not seeing notable usage of the .org part of that. Hashtag yes, but not website. Not sure if it would survive being listed like that per WP:ELDEAD AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:13, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
