These two redirects should not point to different articles, but I don't currently have any opinion about which is better. Thryduulf (talk) 17:31, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Global Rank[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to GRANK. (non-admin closure) feminist (talk) 12:30, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Global rank throws up 78 results in a WP search notably GRANK which is the Global rank which exists since 2006. Might be better to create a DAB Dom from Paris (talk) 10:32, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to GRANK. As "Global Rank" isn't the most common or most specific name for "Alexa Traffic Rank", a {{Redirect}} hatnote on GRANK would suffice. — Newslinger talk 10:55, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I created global rank to point to the List of international rankings. Also added a hatnote to the international list for World ranking AngusWOOF (barksniff) 05:52, 8 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as per WP:FORRED Dom from Paris (talk) 08:34, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep per WP:FORRED - this is the native name for the institution as given in the very first sentence of the article. Thryduulf (talk) 08:39, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ah I may have misunderstood this "If, for example, we had a redirect from Bodem (Dutch) to soil, a Dutch speaker might get the impression that all of our articles have Dutch redirects.". My mistake. Please speedy keep as a withdrawl. --Dom from Paris (talk) 08:53, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was soft redirect to Wikt:Jap's eye. (non-admin closure) feminist (talk) 12:29, 10 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Terms not mentioned at target. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 15:51, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

for the same reason that "Trouser snake" is not mentioned at Human penis.Bogger (talk) 15:59, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Keep redirect is for encyclopedia entry relating to entity referred to by informal/crude name.Bogger (talk) 15:59, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Soft redirect to wikt:Jap's eye, or, failing that, keep. I don't think the term absolutely needs to be mentioned in the target for a redirect like this to be worthwhile: we can trust, in most cases, that someone who has searched for this is capable of understanding that the article they've reached is about the same thing that the colloquial term refers to. What such a redirect doesn't do, however, is provide the important contextual information that the Wiktionary entry contains in addition to the definition (i.e. that the term is British, slang, vulgar and offensive). It's plausible that the hypothetical reader is quite often specifically looking for that information, and likely that they'll benefit from it even if they're not. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 18:00, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

  • Soft redirect per Arms & Hearts. The contextual information at Wiktionary is more useful than what we can provide here. If they are looking for encyclopaedic information about the anatomical structure, I've added a link to our article from the Wiktionary entry. Thryduulf (talk) 08:45, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Soft redirect per Arms & Hearts. Agreed. --Bsherr (talk) 18:31, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
