The result of the discussion was keep. {{R from stylization}} ~ Amory (utc) 00:28, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I guess it's someone's idea of a joke, because nobody will type in the weird lambda character when searching for the game. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 22:04, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep Yeah, I'll grant that you that it's probably not the first way people would search, but it is stylized that way on the game's cover. It's a fair bet that if someone does search with the lambda, they're looking for the game. --BDD (talk) 22:19, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep I made it; I guess it can be useful when you want to link to it using the stylised version. Also, other websites might talk about HL2 using the lambda, so if people copy and paste it into Wikipedia thinking that that'll be the actual page, then they should be redirected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nixinova (talkcontribs) 02:04, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what this means, but it's not mentioned in the article. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 22:00, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete It's a game strategy term, probably most popular in TF2. Wikipedia is not a glossary of gaming terms, either way. --HTMLCoder.exe / talk / stalk 22:15, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. It's not in the glossary of gaming terms either. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:29, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 17:27, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It need to be deleted since the target is incorrect (a variety with a torus action is not the same thing as a toric variety and the redirect is unhelpful since there are many important examples of varieties with a torus action that are not toric varieties) Taku (talk) 20:53, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment need a math person to figure out where this should go. Torus action is certainly a valid term. Otherwise it should just go to Torus AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:15, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there is a good target (the redirect to torus is unhelpful since the latter does not discuss torus action.) -- Taku (talk) 22:56, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, the math person has already spoken, so I would trust their recommendation for deletion. – Uanfala (talk) 23:45, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Would a retarget to Group action make sense, then? It's mentioned at the start of Toric variety as "action of the torus," but there aren't exactly a lot of mentions at group action either. I'll admit to being out of my element in this topic. ~ Amory (utc) 01:41, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that's a good idea; a torus action is a special kind of a group action. But, like redirecting apple to fruit, it's just not helpful: the article "group action" doesn't discuss matters specific to torus action (and it's not natural to add such discussion to "group action".) The long-term solution is to have an article on the torus action; until then the redirect should be deleted, I think. -- Taku (talk) 08:19, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • In that case, Delete per above/WP:REDLINK. ~ Amory (utc) 17:02, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

While the target article is the only place on Wikipedia this term is mentioned, the redirect seems inappropriate. A sourced statement on Shkreli's article says the concept is "a hoax trend of adults identifying as children, while also being sexually attracted to them." Whether or not the concept is notable, Shkreli didn't create it or apparently do anything more than retweet about it. BDD (talk) 20:04, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Per WP:NEO and as unrelated to article.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 15:53, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Shkreli did make the news for that and other eccentric actions. [1] but other than his publicity of the term, it would fall into a neologism WP:NOTNEO. "To support an article about a particular term or concept, we must cite what reliable secondary sources say about the term or concept, not just sources that use the term (see use–mention distinction). " No secondary sources have been presented discussing the actual term, only ones that are provided in the context of the Shkreli tweet. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:08, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
