This is much broader topic than just Solution seling Arthistorian1977 (talk) 14:10, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

One could also argue that it is a oft-nailed-to-the-wall-pudding. Give me a hint, please, where to find a definition that goes beyond marketing blurb. -- Kku (talk) 14:12, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Proud Sponsor[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 21:39, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this recently created redirect go to Sponsor (commercial)? The Underwriting article doesn't discuss "proud sponsor" as a term. Also bizarre that sponsor is capitalized. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:30, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete both due to potential for POV/PROMO issues. However I agree that sponsor in this sense is commercial, not as in the usage in the insurance industry. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:56, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both - Neither of these seem worth keeping. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 22:05, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above --Lenticel (talk) 13:31, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Aziz Pahrudinov[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 22:28, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Proposing deletion. It seems the redirect was presumptuously created based on faulty information. In the announcement of the cast of The Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated, subject of the redirect was not listed as a contestant. If Aziz Pahrudinov is part of the program at all, it is likely only in the preliminary "fight-in" round, which I do not believe would garner significant enough coverage in the target article to merit a redirect. Dancter (talk) 17:53, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New Mexico black bear[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was withdrawn. -- Tavix (talk) 19:01, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Very implausible typo, originally redirected to North American jaguar#Ecology, which made no sense at all. Kleuske (talk) 17:46, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Kleuske: How is this a typo? -- Tavix (talk) 17:57, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Delete- it's not a 'typo', but there is no such thing as a New Mexico black bear, and there are no sources referring to any such phrase. Just because there are in fact black bears in New Mexico does not mean this redirect should exist. ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 17:52, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@El cid, el campeador: I'm curious what you are basing your claim on. The target lists Ursus americanus amblyceps as a subspecies of the American black bear, with "New Mexico black bear" being the common name. -- Tavix (talk) 17:57, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Tavix: a google search of "New Mexico Black Bear". It turns out I erred, though. ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 18:03, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I was just wondering if you had access to a taxonomic database or something of the sort that would be able to confirm such a thing. -- Tavix (talk) 18:07, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Initially, these were dead links on the page American black bear, and I believe that self-links like those should be avoided, so I thought of redirecting them to another page that had information about American black bears on the border-region between Mexico and the United States of America, but anyways, I removed the current self-links in American black bear, and I agree that these can be redirects to that page. Leo1pard (talk) 18:13, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Speedy Keep: It seems I made a mistake. The name is in fact a legit sub-species and thus the redirect is also legitimate. Apologies to Leo1pard. Kleuske (talk) 18:25, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Arisen (Björk song)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Galobtter (pingó mió) 06:31, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No such song at target, discography or main page for Bjork. There is a song called 'Arisen My Senses' but that is already covered as a redirect and will more than suffice as an active redirect. Further alternatives are not helping. Richhoncho (talk) 16:07, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I created the redirect when "Arisen" was listed as a track name, but you have my permission to delete if not helpful. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:25, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - a sensible short name that is not hurting in any way either. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 16:09, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Close enough to be useful. ~ Amory (utc) 16:17, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Latino/a[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Latinx. Per below, if someone is searching for a term with the slash in it, they're likely cognizant of and interested in the discussion around such terms. ~ Amory (utc) 02:18, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Should these be kept as is or retargeted to Latinx? I think it depends on whether you read that slash as "and" (keep as it) or "or" (retarget). Consider me neutral for now; I just thought it should be brought up. --BDD (talk) 14:38, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Portal:WoW[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedy delete. It was a redirect to Portal:World of Warcraft, which was deleted at MfD. By rights this should've been WP:CSD#G8 deleted right then, but it the target was recreated as redirect to mainspace. While that was eventually G4 deleted, there as enough time for the bot to fix the double redirect. ~ Amory (utc) 15:26, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unclear what this means, not mentioned in article. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 14:05, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was deleting. -- Tavix (talk) 19:21, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Article doesn't mention what this actually means. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 14:04, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

 Comment: I believe it's meant as a verb, i.e. "World of Warcraft-ing". ~ Amory (utc) 15:28, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep used briefly on CNET news: [6] and Christian Science Monitor [7] at different time periods. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:45, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Seems like it was used in the way you would append "-ing" to any video game (Haloing, Destinying, Marioing), and not in a way that suggests it is a widely used term.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 16:57, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't seem widely used, but was mentioned in those two articles from two different publishers which were 3 years apart. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:44, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete- any noun can be made into a verb by adding 'ing' to the end. It does not follow that WP should act as a depository for those words. What good would having 'WoWing' as a redirect serve? Certainly none. ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 17:53, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete not helpful fake word. Legacypac (talk) 02:52, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - I really don't like the precedent that any name of something can have an "-ing" added on to the end and still be treated as if it's a real word. Even if that does sound pedantic of me, I suppose, there's still the fundamental question of whether or not this redirect is helpful. I don't think that it is. Pre-BC[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 13:48, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Abbreviation is not mentioned in the article. I am guessing it refers to "Pre Burning Crusade", but this is given no explanation so it is just a misleading redirect. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 14:02, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I could easily see the first as a search term for what preceded BC (or BCE). At some point, you'd just say so many "million years ago" instead of, like, "65 million BC", but if you're reckoning time in terms of BC, I think there is no before. --BDD (talk) 16:08, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete could also refer to any BC, be it the B.C. time period, British Columbia, Breeders Cup, Blizzcon, Boston College. [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] Pre-TBC seems to be closer to World of Warcraft, but if it that stays, it needs a description in the article. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:49, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as confusing at best --Lenticel (talk) 01:19, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak keep as a possible {{R from incorrect name}} for the "PlayStation 3 Slim". Steel1943 (talk) 23:58, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Disregard this. I've been looking through third-party engines for a bit, and cannot find this correlation even in old news results. In fact, when looking up "Ps3 lite", I primarily receive results for some sort of 2018 soccer/football game released for the PS3 which includes the word "LITE" in its title. So, delete as the redirect potentially obscures search results with its existence. Steel1943 (talk) 17:30, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I recommend deletion of this redirect per the second reason for deletion at WP:RFD#DELETE: The redirect might cause confusion. "Bias towards the north and against south" is relevant to many geographic areas, not only to the target. The redirect was created within the last month, so deletion should not cause any problems. Given that there are many "national secessionist forces" in real life, I think this redirect could be confusing/misleading. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 13:47, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment This is a major group in the game like UNATCO but general news articles point to secessionist forces in general.. Would a redirects here / hatnote to Secession be more appropriate? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 13:30, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to section #Setting_and_characters, where this is specifically discussed (twice by full name, and then a further two times by an initialism). Neutral on a {{redirect|...|Secession}} hatnote because I find it difficult to believe someone would type this exact phrase looking for secession in general. --NYKevin 00:09, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't believe that we should delete this. The specific name of the group, with every word capitalized, is clearly distinct from the broader concept of secessionist movements. Refining things to the #Setting_and_characters section also makes sense to me. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 08:41, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
