Le Vagabond[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. --BDD (talk) 15:51, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This appears to have been the French title of the The Littlest Hobo (see) but it isn't mentioned in the target, so the reader who searches for this is left none the wiser as to the target's relevance (I searched for it looking for a story by Guy de Maupassant, which we don't have an article on). La Vagabonde or The Vagabond (novel) might be a plausible target, but (I believe – my French is très mauvais) both use the French feminine form, whereas this uses the masculine. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 23:30, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. the best course is simply to add the French title to the WP article on the series. I have done that. As for the Maupassant, we will need a disambiguation also , I shall do that. DGG ( talk ) 21:40, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If we go with this, then add redirects here hatnote with other uses going to Vagabond (disambiguation) in case there are others with such a title. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:46, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of Indian television series[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Category:Indian television series. Thryduulf (talk) 08:37, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Target does not contain anything regarding "Indian television series". This redirect should either be re-targeted to the appropriate article or be deleted. (I'm unable to find a suitable target article for this redirect; only this comes close: Category:Indian television series). Gotitbro (talk) 20:15, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Similar to Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2018_July_27#Airship_(video_game). feminist (talk) 16:01, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete As former non notable fancrufty page that serves no encyclopedic purpose as a redirect.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 03:18, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Nothing relating to the broad topic of airships in video games is discussed in the target or in any other article. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 19:05, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment what about List of fictional aircraft? Some airships are mentioned there and there are lots of mentions of video games. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:42, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. per Arms & Hearts. The list suggested by AngusWOOF is not arranged by aircraft type, and of the four instances of the word "airship" only one is possibly related to a video game (it's described as being in a "game franchise"), so someone searching for this will not find what they are looking for. Category:Airships in fiction has more that is of use, but again video games are not separated from other media so wouldn't really that helpful either. The result of the discussion was As it turns out, bundling these wasn't the best choice. There is consensus to delete I-Self Lord and Master and consensus to retarget Black Muslim Movement. There is no consensus regarding Faradian Islam other than not keeping it as is - both deletion and retargetting were equally supported and the strength of arguments is about even also. As defaulting to keep would not be in the best interests of anyone, I've decided to retarget it without prejudice to renomination individually. Thryduulf (talk) 08:54, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

At some point this Nation of Islam term got redirected by bot ("fixing double redirect") to Muslim world, an article which not at all covers or even touches Nation of Islam stuff. → «« Man77 »» 09:57, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WP:AFC redirect. I find this an unlikely search term: Chee does not refer to cheese or cheeseburger. feminist (talk) 15:38, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pointy[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 06:37, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A redirect since 2009, this was recently turned into an article about a company. The AfD closed as delete, but there was some discussion there about whether the former redirect would even be useful. Thus, I have nominated this here for discussion. I'd probably lean toward delete or wiktionary, as a lot of things are pointy beyond pointe shoes, and a dab seems unlikely to be anything beyond a dictionary definition. ~ Amory (utc) 11:06, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. I can't see the connection to pointe shoe beyond the fact that the shoes are, indeed, pointy; nor can I find any other plausible targets. I don't think soft redirects to Wiktionary are useful for words as commonplace as this. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 19:03, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've added distinguishes for Pointe shoe and Pointed shoe, neither of which are called pointies or pointys AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:22, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. there are no many possible meanings for the redirect to be helpful. DGG ( talk ) 15:29, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as not dictionary and blocking searches for terms with the word pointy in them. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:31, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. While I can understand "Pointe" (which redirects to pointe technique, not the shoes) being mispronounced as "Pointy" someone who knows how the word is spelled isn't going to search for it at this title and someone who doesn't know how it's spelled but has heard it spoken isn't going to look for it hear either. The only plausible target for this title that is not just a particle tile match is Wikipedia:Don't disrupt Wikipedia to make a point, as the behaviour described there is often referred to as "pointy" with no further context or qualification. However, that would introduce a cross-namespace redirect from the article to Wikipedia namespace, and as those have the potential to be confusing or otherwise harmful they should not be introduced without good reason. The most common good reason being that the target is something significantly relevant to those who have not learned about namespaces yet, which is not something I think applies here, nor can I think of any other reason why this would be needed in addition to WP:POINTY. Boo'd Up Remix (Remix featuring Nicki Minaj & Quevo)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. Better argument for delete, namely multiple issues with the title, especially given the recent nature of its creation. ~ Amory (utc) 14:21, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The name of the article is not correct (exactly Boo’d Up (Remix) with Nicki Minaj and Quavo), and it’s a redirection page without any content. BrandNew Jim Zhang (talk) 01:41, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. This is a plausible way to search for the remix in question – we can't expect readers to always type in precisely the right punctuation. The redirect takes the reader to the most relevant article and the title couldn't realistically refer to anything else. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 18:56, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as two uses of Remix, which is not how the song is ever titled. Boo'd Up (Remix) already exists to cover this version. [1] Boo'd Up Remix could be created but that would go to the same single article anyway. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:38, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Walter Tait[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 14:20, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Previously submitted for deletion (see revision history). No explanation as to reason for this redirect.     Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 05:08, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete to reveal in the search results the various Walter Taits that are mentioned in our articles. Judging by the history, this redirect appears to have been the result of an error. – Uanfala (talk) 10:46, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Uanfala. It looks like the editor who created William Tait (footballer) mistakenly did so at this location then subsequently corrected their error. We have an article on a Walter Tate and handful of other articles that mention people called Walter Tait, but none seems like a particularly plausible target. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 18:52, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as above. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:38, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
