Additional materials on Che Guevara[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 01:44, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unclear what "additional materials" refers to, considering that Materials on Che Guevara does not exist. In addition, the word "materials" is vague in itself. Steel1943 (talk) 21:29, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pissgate[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedy delete (WP:CSD#G10) as a possible BLP issue. Thryduulf (talk) 08:18, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:BLP. We don't report on the contents of the dossier because of the BLP policy. Hinting at them through a redirect doesn't serve much encyclopedic purpose and serves as what I like to refer to as a coatrack redirect. Regardless of people's views on Trump, he is a living person and the BLP policy has us act conservatively towards them. TonyBallioni (talk) 20:39, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete We have carefully kept the unconfirmed, salacious accusations out of the Trump articles for BLP reasons. Having this here as a redirect totally undermines our BLP policy. Worse yet, if you Google "Pissgate" this Wikipedia redirect is one of the first links suggested. --MelanieN (talk) 00:10, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy deleting due to the above BLP concerns. If there was content in the article about this then WP:RNEUTRAL might apply, and certainly would if there was coverage about the topic which mentioned this specific name, but that is not currently the case. Any recreation should not be speedy deleted without first checking whether this has changed. Thryduulf (talk) 08:18, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Bowser (character)#Other games. (non-admin closure) feminist 02:59, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Paper Bowser" is not mentioned in the target article, nor is "Paper Bowser" exclusive to Paper Mario as there are 5 titles in the "Paper Mario" series. Recommend retarget to Bowser (character). Steel1943 (talk) 20:30, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ribbon shaped[edit]

It is unlikely that one would accidentally type ribbon-shaped when attempting to access ribbon. Blorper234 (talk) 17:54, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • They might be looking for one of the definitions of Taenia. I'm not sure how to solve that. Redirect to a disambiguation page, ugh… Mduvekot (talk) 18:02, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Per nom.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 01:47, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Ribbon (disambiguation), which lists several topologically-related topics. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 02:00, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per Notecardforfree. Thryduulf (talk) 08:20, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Let Wikipedia's search function help readers figure out what they are trying to find when looking up this term. Steel1943 (talk) 12:03, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Although searching on the Internet shows a bunch of images for "ribbon shape" as applied to vectors and banners, the term is not used in news articles, and the word ribbon is common enough to not require linking. What's next? Rope-shaped? Wire-shaped? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 22:09, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
AngusWOOF Have you tried looking for images related to Taenia? Not kidding. Taeniate really means "ribbon-like". If someone can't think of taeniate, they may really be using-ribbon-like. Mduvekot (talk) 22:30, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Taenia could be added to the Ribbon and Ribbon (disambiguation) pages as a see also, but I don't see where Ribbon shaped points to anything special. Items (or animals) can be described as ribbon-like or rope-like, but not ribbon shaped or rope shaped. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:58, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete as there is not currently a disambiguation with this title. I read the discussion at WT:CANADA and it does not seem likely this situation would change. However, if it ever does, please recreate. -- Tavix (talk) 01:46, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: target is not a disambiguation page, no disambiguation page exists for this topic, and this topic is not ambiguous. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:48, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:45, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nom note - the topic might be ambiguous. There is a related discussion at WT:CANADA. However, of the disambiguation pages that would be affected, only one or two (out of roughly 80) have any disambiguator. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 19:19, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Realist[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.

This looks like an autocorrect redirect. Not sure whether WP:RTYPO applies here. --Nevéselbert 14:20, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. It's got five current transclusions (four in article space and 1 in draft space) and was probably created because it appeared on User:Jonesey95/Redlinked transclusions with four entries (whether those four are included in the current 5 I don't know). It doesn't appear to be harming anything and someone with the relevant know-how could set up AWB to automatically correct it if desired. It seems likely though that it will continue to attract uses (whether through autocorrect or otherwise we likely can't know), and I don't see any benefit to the encyclopaedia in deleting it. Thryduulf (talk) 14:59, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, misleading. "Realist" is related to "Realism", not to "list of references". —Kusma (t·c) 16:15, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment is this auto-correct in action? I don't know why any Wikipedian editor would want to keep autocorrect on for such things. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:44, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Could also be a misspelling of Template:Relist. Autocorrect can potentially change "relist" to "realist"; In fact, an instance of me typing "relist" in the edit summary field was changed to "realist" only a few hours ago. Best to just delete this. Steel1943 (talk) 18:17, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • keep, I clean up about 12 of these every week and it's always a typo of "reflist". here are 14 that I cleaned up today. Frietjes (talk) 15:15, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, per WP:RTYPO: "Redirects from plausible typographical errors are usually kept." I created this redirect because it is a typo that recurs frequently. – Jonesey95 (talk) 10:22, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The disadvantage of keeping this template is that people won't notice that they need to be aware that autocorrect causes mistakes. If it is a red link, they will notice. Also, I think RTYPO was meant for mainspace use. —Kusma (t·c) 11:06, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We redirect from typos for this very reason. Humans get the result they want even if they make mistakes, which is user-centric design. A bot can come by later and fix the typo. – Jonesey95 (talk) 11:44, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'd be okay with this if the bot actually notifies people of their typo. —Kusma (t·c) 13:18, 5 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:REDLINK. As much as I am not a fan of the subject of this redirect's humor, she is now the star of her own show on Comedy Central, and thus has most likely established notability independent of this redirect's target. Steel1943 (talk) 18:30, 12 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't withdraw it yet. She needs another notable show with a notable role. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:48, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hannett, Cornwall[edit]

I can find no evidence that any place of this name has ever existed. I believe the page creator got it from here and it's a misprint for the small hamlet Hennett, which doesn't seem to be notable either. Blythwood (talk) 01:52, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak delete. Shortly after this nomination was made User:D A R C 12345 (who created this as an article, then as the current redirect) added a mention of Hannett to the article, claiming it was mentioned in the Domesday Book, sourced to this page, which doesn't mention Hannett (or Hennett). Open Domesday doesn't have a Hannett, but does have Hennett. So this is sort of complicated and could benefit from some clarification (and I would welcome D A R C 12345, who seems knowledgeable on the subject to offer that clarification), but it does seem likely that "Hannett" is the result of a typo somewhere along the line. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 17:17, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This a procedural nomination, as there was an incorrect link to a nonexistent redirect in the below discussion I closed, this redirect already was tagged. I am neutural and have no opinion in this discussion. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 07:50, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: It doesn't really matter to me either way if this is deleted or not. I created it as before Cold Dark Place was created, I was unsure of the level of disambiguation needed. I wasn't sure if there were another album or article out there that could feasibly be written also titled Cold Dark Place. Ss112 08:03, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Perfectly harmless {{R from unnecessary disambiguation}}, as the title is indeed an album by Mastodon. Thryduulf (talk) 10:40, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RFOREIGN, no particular ties to Spanish. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 07:33, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. This started life as an article in Spanish but we shouldn't transwiki it for two reasons. Firstly the Spanish Wikipedia already has an article (es:Ideología de género (which I presume to be the correct spelling) redirects to es:Teoría de género). Secondly while it was ostensibly about that topic ("Ideology of gender", a concept originating out of Catholic doctrine in opposition to the field of Gender studies, which we don't have an English article about, meaning that even if there are ties between it an Spanish (I've not investigated) there is no correct place to target it) it was actually a WP:COATRACK (that at least based on Google Translate appeared non-neutral) about David Reimer who already has a better article on the Spanish Wikipedia (es:David Reimer). Thryduulf (talk) 10:57, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
