  • Comment: I'll start by noting that the redirect is "Peirce", not "Pierce". The middle school in South Redford School District is "Pierce", so this would have to be a typo redirect to the current target. That being said, Peirce is a real surname, and it's common enough that there are some middle schools named after a "Peirce". This one was apparently originally an article on the one in West Chester, but was redirected to John D. Pierce Middle School (Michigan) in November [1], and then John D was redirected to the school district and a bot fixed the double redirect. menaechmi (talk) 13:15, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Another one where there is no mention at the target. Given there are only about 2000 people, mostly Chinese and Buddhist, I'd be surprised if there are any practitioners of Hinduism on Christmas Island and I have no idea why anyone would even search for this term. Unlikely search term. When this was an "article" (a term I use loosely), it was a not-so-clever way to refer to...well y'know. I believe this redirect needs to be deleted as this child has already been named, and it's totally unnecessary and useless now. Previous examples include "Second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge", a redirect which was deleted after the announcement of that child's actual name (Princess Charlotte of Cambridge). Delete. Weird capitalization makes this an unlikely search term. Given the vagueness of the expression, even the overcapitalization-corrected Mini-system redirect is suspect.       • I was wondering about that, because Emojipedia does list both. My assumption is that "information desk person" was the original definition, and it was changed to "person tipping hand" some time later (probably when they gendered it). I haven't been able to find a logical connection between the redirect and the target. QIOT is only one letter off from BIOT, but Q and B are no where near each other on a keyboard, so I can't see it as a typo redirect. -- Tavix (talk) 01:49, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Home stereo system[edit]

Delete. This should be a redlink so the proper article gets created. This term almost never means shelf stereo (boombox); the "system" in it indicates it refers to a component stereo system a.k.a. rack stereo system, but these are also redlinks. We appear to somehow actually not yet have the article on the typical home stereo setup of the 1960s through 1990s. These systems are today an integral part of a home theater setup, but even Home theater is a disambiguation page and doesn't include anything pertaining to component/rack home stereo systems in particular. If we really do already have the right article under some name, then this should redirect to it, as should the other redlinks above. The article may really be missing, though. Even at articles like Preamplifier and Audio power amplifier (i.e., specific components of such systems), there's no indication of such an article, and people are writing awkward circumlocutions like "consumer electronics sound products" and "high-end stereo".
