Draft:Laura Marino[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. Deryck C. 00:51, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

G6 Speedy was declined with the rationale "Criterion G6 does not apply: Deletion of this page may be controversial or is under discussion" which frankly makes no sense. Exemplo347 (talk) 23:26, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep WP:RDRAFT says they should be kept. I would have suppressed the redirect when I moved it otherwise. TonyBallioni (talk) 23:29, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Exemplo347: Conversely, your rationale makes no sense. Could you explain why you believe this particular redirect should be deleted? -- Tavix (talk) 23:32, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Also, for further context: this was an article that had been moved to draftspace per this ANI thread. It was incorrectly returned to draft space after it had been moved back out on NPP by an inexperienced patroller. When I corrected the issues with it, I moved it back to mainspace, but the talk page had to be moved separately because it had been done sloppy before. When that was done, the admin moving the talk page didn't leave a redirect, which is why I think the original G6 tag was applied by another user. TonyBallioni (talk) 23:42, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per TonyBallioni and Tavix. Thryduulf (talk) 12:37, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment She meets WP:NOLYMPICS barely, finishing 19th, so she's out of draft. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:09, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

PRIDE Week[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Gay pride. --BDD (talk) 22:24, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Found this while doing cleanup after a round-robin move. It was created after a 2006 move to "Gay Pride Week (Toronto, Ontario), which has just been moved to Pride Toronto after a RM. This does not seem to be an appropriate redirect since pride weeks exist elsewhere, and I'm not familiar with a reason for Toronto's to be the main subject. The result of the discussion was delete. Deryck C. 00:40, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete due to the unwieldy and confusing disambiguator. This is unlikely to be useful. -- Tavix (talk) 20:41, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deaths of Presidents[edit]

The result of the discussion was Withdrawn as nominator. I have just taken it upon myself to retarget, per AngusWOOF's reasoning. --Nevéselbert 22:42, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Should we retain these redirects as an {{R to section}} or retarget to the page only? I would note that unlike JFK, these presidents did not die instantly. --Nevéselbert 19:21, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

They should go to the top of the article as it covers the entire event related to the person's death. It might be different if the search topic was "Day of (person)'s death" or "(person) funeral". AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:46, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete as proposed for now. Options for future recreation and retargeting are suggested in the discussion. Deryck C. 00:41, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Points to list which used to include this non-notable piece of software. No objection to recreation as a disambiguation or retargeting to an article on a relevant e.g. rank. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 18:24, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Boss 2 (2014 film)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. Deryck C. 00:42, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The name was always misleading, as there was no movement in 2014 towards making the sequel to Boss:Born To Rule. It could be retargeted to Boss 2 (2017 film) now that principal photography has begun, but the contradictory years would cause confusion. No longer useful. The result of the discussion was delete. Deryck C. 00:43, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The name was always problematic, as the sequel was never going to be made and released the same year as Boss: Born To Rule. It could be retargeted to Boss 2 (2017 film) now that principal photography has begun, but the contradictory years would cause confusion. No longer useful. Jimmy "Mad Dog" Matis[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete as too much of a typo. Deryck C. 00:44, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This originally redirected to Mad Dog Matis (disc jockey), a deleted article. I'd delete this redirect, since the present target isn't likewise known as Jimmy. --Nevéselbert 14:02, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. There are sources that refer to the subject as "Jimmy", e.g. [1], [2]. There are few blogs and things that use "Jimmy Mad Dog Mattis" to refer to him too. Thryduulf (talk) 14:15, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - A Google search for "Jimmy Mad Dog Matis" returns the DJ and almost nothing for Mattis. It's the wrong spelling and a name/nickname (Jimmy, that is) that doesn't even appear in the article. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 22:47, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete since the surname is not spelled the same. ("Mattis" vs. "Matis".) Steel1943 (talk) 23:08, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete implausible typo, inappropriate nickname assigned to poiltician AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:17, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
