Atlantis 7 (film)[edit]

The result of the discussion was no consensus, and after two relistings already I don't think another will get us any closer to agreement. Thryduulf (talk) 07:22, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Another "jump the gun" film redirect. According to IMDb, the status for this film is "unknown" so any assumption about this film would be WP:CRYSTAL. -- Tavix (talk) 15:03, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget both to Joe Ballarini#Career, where there's a sourced (brief) description in the ninth paragraph. (Maybe add an anchor there.) Atlantis 7 (film) gets very few hits, but Atlantis 7 has had about 10–15 per month. Unlike other recent RFD nominations, these don't have a year in the titles, so they aren't obsolete; one could be turned into an article when/if the film does come out. Meanwhile, we do have a bit of info for the searchers. — Gorthian (talk) 21:17, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Is there any danger of the latter being a search term for the seventh mission of space shuttle Atlantis, STS-38? Gorthian's suggestion is better than the status quo, since the film is mentioned there, but how long will that be the case? If it progresses, we could see mentions in articles for director or actors, for example. --BDD (talk) 16:16, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • BDD: In my highly scientific Google search, the movie and a shower system dominate the results. I didn't see anything about the shuttle till thirty entries in, and even then, it was a juxtaposition of "Atlantis" and "7". Lots of video games, real estate, other various and sundry nonsense mixed in. I've never seen anyone refer to a shuttle flight that way. As for additions to articles as time goes on: that would mean that the film is actually progressing and getting closer to having a real article. These redirects will be fine till then. — Gorthian (talk) 05:29, 20 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete to encourage redlinking creation when the movie becomes notable and not just a thought. If Atlantis 7 is a notable product, you can redirect it to the company. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:14, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Note that the film is a 2011 one, so I've still marked it as an incorrect name. --BDD (talk) 20:53, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The name of the film is not "Kaavalkaaran". Kailash29792 (talk) 09:49, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was restore article. --BDD (talk) 20:41, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing to do with Maratha Empire, wrongly redirected. Also not sure where it should be redirected to if not kept independently separate article. Hence here at RfD. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 07:40, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Wrong redirect Delta Meghwal rape case is about the rape of a girl in August 2016 whereas the Maratha Empire existed from 1674 to 1818.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 18:35, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Restore article that existed before redirect. The editor who redirected it was wrong; it is a notable case, and there is still news coverage of it. If there is still a question of notability, it should be brought to AFD for a full discussion. — Gorthian (talk) 23:58, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Restore article without prejudice to an AfD discussion, but RfD should not be used to delete article content without discussion of that content. Thryduulf (talk) 14:24, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest speedy delete. This must be some sort of private joke, see edit summary of creation: "Created redirect because everywhere I go in Winnipeg I see potholes." Name non-existent. T*U (talk) 06:39, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per WP:MADEUP. This is clearly a protologism, I can find no evidence for it's use outside these two redirects. It doesn't meet any speedy deletion criteria though, as it's not nonsense (due to the edit summary), a test, hoax or an attack page and the criterion related to MADEUP applies only to articles (A11). Thryduulf (talk) 10:03, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • If you think that edit summary disqualifies it from being nonsense you have a very strange opinion of what nonsense is. P.S. Delete.  — Scott talk 14:09, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • It's no nonsense in the sense of WP:CSD#G1: which "applies to pages consisting entirely of incoherent text or gibberish with no meaningful content or history. [...] In short, if you can understand it, G1 does not apply.". In combination with the edit summary is clearly meaningful content. It is in no way shape or form encyclopaedic but it is not nonsense. Thryduulf (talk) 18:14, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
        • It's nonsense in the normal English sense of the term "nonsense" and should be speedily deleted on the basis of the edit summary, which shows that it is tomfoolery which is arguably as bad as nonsense. I don't know if we have a speedy category for "egregious tomfoolery" but we should. Delete. Herostratus (talk) 22:34, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
          • We don't have a speedy deletion category for "egregious tomfoolery" (nor do I think we should, but that is a discussion for WT:CSD), and I don't think that that description applies to this redirect. The creator was trying to make a point not make a joke. Thryduulf (talk) 14:26, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Not used by main secondary sources. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:17, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It appears to be a redirect created for a film directed by Yasuomi Umetsu. On the Umetsu article, it doesn't mention the film and I can't find any information on when it was released or the production of it (not even through Google). Therefore it is an unlikely redirect and is a violation of WP:GNG, WP:OR and WP:CRYSTAL. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:47, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - I can find no evidence on IMDB for a film of this name, or anything with a similar name that the target has a credit for. When the redirect was created it was given the categories Category:2015 films, Category:Prequel films and Category:Fan films suggesting that this is an unofficial project (if it actually exists) and likely has little to no connection with target. Thryduulf (talk) 09:57, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. The first and second films were removed from the template Works of Yasuomi Umetsu for lack of sources. A now-blocked user tried repeatedly to create an article, only to have it deleted for lack of notability, culminating in an AFD several years back that could find no sources. The creator of the redirect also tried to make an article, which was speedily deleted as a hoax. Hoax or not, there seem to be no sources out there, so a redirect is not appropriate. — Gorthian (talk) 19:40, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
