July 10[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on July 10, 2015.

Blade (templating engine)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep Blade (templating engine); retarget Blade (software) to Blade (disambiguation)#Computing and technology. (non-admin closure) -- Tavix (talk) 20:13, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should delete this. I don't think this tag is necessary, since Blade (software) goes to the same place. Compassionate727 (talk) 19:00, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mouth Quest[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) -- Tavix (talk) 20:20, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: I think "Mouth Quest" by itself is a bit ambiguous. Compassionate727 (talk) 17:15, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - aside from references to the episode, the term "Mouth Quest" is not used on any other Wikipedia page [1]. When Googling "Mouth Quest" without quotes almost the entire first page of results is about the episode. [2] Grapesoda22 (talk) 20:00, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 13:44, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: I'm not aware of any other WikiProjects that have cross-namespace redirects. Doesn't seem consistent. Compassionate727 (talk) 17:11, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete XNR, mainspace redirect to pipework, not useful for the readership -- 67.70.32.20 (talk) 05:35, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: To answer Compassionate727's question, yes there are other WikiProject CNRs. A count of Category:Redirects to project space reveals approximately 125 similar redirects. Is this a good thing? We can look at WP:CNR for a pro/con list and use this discussion to guage whether it's worth nominating other similar redirects. -- Tavix (talk) 15:07, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible redirect. The page was initially created as a joke/hoax. Someone lazily decided to kill in by turning into a garbarge redirect -M.Altenmann >t 15:00, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Speedy delete WP:G3 - hoax/nonsense, badly cleaned up. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 15:07, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy deleted as proposed. bd2412 T 15:22, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

Snyder Avenue[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. Deryck C. 08:09, 21 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Synder Avenue isn't related to the target, except for the fact that the target is named after it. Not really worthy of a redirect, in my opinion. Compassionate727 (talk) 15:50, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

But not particularly useful. Compassionate727 (talk) 01:06, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, but not harmful. The coin toss is really WP:SURPRISE (which WP:RFD#D2 and WP:RFD#D5 overlap): if someone searching for Snyder Avenue did so, would they be surprised to come up with that station when they were looking for another Snyder Avenue (or Snider Avenue or Cinder Avenue) or what? How more Snide or Snyde would they be? There are plenty of stations named after the roads they are on, and vice versa, Station Road perhaps being the base case.
many Strand (station)s are not actually on the strand or beach, as the trains tend to fall into the briny (that's why Joseph Bazalgette built the Victoria Embankment, so Strand, London is not actually by the riverside now, but it stops em falling off into the Thames, and lets the Circle Line (London Underground) get from Hammersmith to Aldgate, but that's another story...) Si Trew (talk) 08:15, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete There's clearly a connection here, but not enough discussion of the road at the target article to make this redirect helpful. --BDD (talk) 13:11, 8 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, BDD (talk) 14:09, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as an {{R from incorrect name}}. Check out the picture at the SEPTA station article. The name says "Snyder Avenue." That could lead people to think the station is actually called that, at least in an informal or colloquial sense. -- Tavix (talk) 14:32, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Good point, Tavix. The article could still be improved with a description of the surrounding area, though. --BDD (talk) 17:23, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fúzhōu[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Fuzhou. --BDD (talk) 13:38, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't find any mention in the target page. Probably retarget to Fuzhou or Fuzhou (disambiguation). GZWDer (talk) 09:30, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Fuzhou. Fúzhōu is the correct Pinyin-with-tonemarks transcription of its Chinese name. Also, users (even that odd subset of users who go to the bother of typing Pinyin with tone marks) are overwhelmingly more likely to be looking for a provincial capital with seven million people, rather than any of the obscure former prefectures also named Fúzhōu listed at Fuzhou (disambiguation). 58.176.246.42 (talk) 13:59, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see the connection between this punctuation and the album.  SchreiberBike | ⌨  04:10, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Very strange. This used to redirect to the track Down, Down, Down To Mephisto's Cafe when it had a standalone article. But even as it was, I don't see where "--'" is supposed to be from. When it was redirected to the album page, the edit summary said the song was already described there. It was, and while the information has since been removed, I'm still not seeing any justification for this redirect. I'd think pagemove vandalism, but the user who did it doesn't look like a vandal. "--'" returns literally nothing in Google. --BDD (talk) 14:01, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't look like a vandal, but it does look like they stopped editing in 2008, then came back just to move this page to the nonsense title in 2010, and hasn't edited since. Maybe a hacked account? Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 15:03, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - nonsense. FTR, -- is code used by email programs to delineate the start of a signature, but I don't think it's worth having an encyclopedic redirect about that. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 14:11, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy delete G1. This is clearly nonsense. -- Tavix (talk) 14:33, 10 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
