This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on April 4, 2015.

Racial Separatism vs Racial Supremacy[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete per WP:RFD#DELETE #2. Just Chilling (talk) 21:37, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This used to be an article, with as essay-like a tone as you'd expect. As an admin, I can see that the lede included the sentence "Many White Separatists often emphisize this distinction, because of being accused of racism", so just no, all kinds of no. It went to AfD and was closed as redirect (after deletion), when it really should've just been deleted. Now, almost seven years later, let's make the right decision. BDD (talk) 21:16, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Delete it should never have been closee as redirect in the first place.--67.68.208.170 (talk) 22:58, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per WP:RFD#DELETE #2 (confusing), cannot determine the appropriate target. Does seem to have been a bad close, based on one editor's opinion that it should be redirected against a chorus of editors rightly pushing for deletion. Ivanvector (talk) 17:10, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I can find little to no evidence to suggest that this is a legitimate pet name for the console that is in widespread use. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 21:10, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete, I was fairly surprised, but my search backed up Zeke's findings. I did find some correlation, but that was because of usernames of people playing N64 games, such as "Ninny Gamers." Since ninny means "a foolish person," it could be taken as a non-neutral redirect. Tavix |  Talk  07:39, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. --BDD (talk) 14:15, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:RTYPO, one typo too many to be plausible. Alternatively, this is the English transliteration of the console's Japanese name, which is useless because it's not, um, whichever language this edition of Wikipedia is written in, I can't remember the name of it exactly... Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 21:02, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as harmless and unambiguous. Steel1943 (talk) 19:37, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep --Sonic_N800 (talk) 22:32, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Reasonable alternative transliteration. Reach Out to the Truth 03:41, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as I wouldn't call this a typo. It's a different way to transliterate it. Tavix |  Talk  05:26, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Direct transliteration of ファミコン if you take it kana by kana and not consider its full original name (Family Computer, which gives you "Famicom"). In Japanese it is pronounced exactly like this. 野狼院ひさし u/t/c 12:00, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RTYPO specifies that redirects with multiple typos are normally deleted. The fact that this is a WP:FORRED makes that argument even stronger. The typos are: 1) A grave accent is used instead of a ʻokina. 2) The ʻokina should be at the beginning of the word instead of after the I. Tavix |  Talk  20:37, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This could refer to a technological template or it could refer to a template like Template:PlayStation 3 (which does not exist for PlayStation 2 and for which I doubt this would be a suitable redirect). (20:22, 4 April 2015 (UTC): I added one more like it that is a cross-namespace redirect that doesn't appear to meet CSD R2; theoretically a template could exist there, but if one is not needed, the redirect should probably just go.) Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 18:18, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong delete redirects to articles from template space will cause horrible transclusion problems, transcluding the entire article, and making the transcluding page categorize in all the article's categories. -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 04:50, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Any console has cheats. Any console's software library has cheats. I assume that if this is here, it's because someone's trying to use Wikipedia as a resource for video game cheats. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 18:11, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Could also refer to cheats for officially-licensed PS2 games (not just homebrew, which the redirect currently links to). See also my reasoning for the redirect directly above. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 18:07, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. This is the ninth MK game, but not a ninth anniversary. Mortal Kombat 9 already exists. --BDD (talk) 13:53, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is completely wrong. The 9th anniversary of Mortal Kombat would have been in 2001, when AFAIK no games were released in the series (Deadly Alliance wouldn't come out until a year later). In-universe, it's obvious that more than 9 years passed by the time the game begins. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 17:50, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned on target article; a Google search failed to reveal any illuminating reason that a concept with this or a similar name would be relevant enough to warrant a redirect with this name to Pokémon. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 17:38, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. To pile on, if they meant forth as in "4th," then it's misspelled. Tavix |  Talk  05:25, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I also can't find any connection to Pokemon, but maybe this could be a {{R from misspelling}} to the Fort Union dab page? Ivanvector (talk) 14:18, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong delete. You all should see the history of this page. It was created as a short article about an event (in the anime?) that I can't find information about, even in fan sources that document pretty much everything regarding Pokémon. Someone else must not have found anything back then either because they placed a WP:PROD on the article, labeling the article as a hoax and non-notable. Someone else just turned it into the redirect you see currently. Delete because it really doesn't have anything notable to do with Pokémon, I it's just from someone's WP:MADEUP fan fic story that they might have just made up on the spot. --Mr. Guye (talk) 22:06, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Highly convoluted typo version of target name. Other than that, I bet no one would look at this and assume it's meant to refer to Pokémon. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 17:36, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete they are not similar enough to be a plausible misspelling nor are the letters on the keyboard anywhere near close enough to be considered a likely typoo--67.68.208.170 (talk) 20:52, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • But hey, now we have a great nickname for porcine Pokémon (e.g., Spoink, Pignite). --BDD (talk) 21:22, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Seems to be a joke name for Pokémon on a few obscure websites. The redirect may also surprise many people who are looking for the hundreds of other characters named Porky or similar. --Mr. Guye (talk) 22:14, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This appears to be a phrase that Jefferson wrote in a draft of a paragraph for the declaration of independence that related to the slave trade. It was not included in the final version. I think it's confusing since all the monarchs of Great Britain have been Christian. DrKiernan (talk) 12:21, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I don't believe that the fact that the term existed in a draf of the declaration of independence is enough to warrant the redirect.--67.68.208.170 (talk) 20:56, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all the kings of GB and UK are ostensibly Christian. -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 04:55, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Officially, if not materially, anyway. There's definitely more than one of them who actually were, so the redirect needs to be deleted. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 05:13, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nonexistent product. The Game Boy never had one of these. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 04:49, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment the GBA has third party TV tuners, which some people would call "gameboy tv tuner"s -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 04:52, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as confusing. It isn't mentioned in the targeted article. Tavix |  Talk  22:24, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Game Boy Advance (maybe section #Unofficial) based on 65.94's findings. It's not much of a mention but it's there. Ivanvector (talk) 14:14, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Search term for a nonexistent console with not even a ghost of a chance of becoming a reality ATM. A portable Xbox console could be named anything, and this is but one possible name. No need for a redirect. Zeke, the Mad Horrorist (Speak quickly) (Follow my trail) 04:41, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as misleading. Leads one to believe that the console exists when it does not. --Mr. Guye (talk) 18:10, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. Turns out this was the name of a New Year's Eve special on Fox. It seems to have only occurred on 31 December 2007, so it's probably not notable. --BDD (talk) 13:35, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No I won't. According to whom is this a thing? Not mentioned in the article. Makes no sense. Mr. Guye (talk) 03:14, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Possible attack/joke. Mr. Guye (talk) 01:34, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. The term is mentioned in a 3rd party source here. I'm surprised that it's not in the article; he did a lot of pelvic thrusts. Steel1943 (talk) 01:37, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the redirect's name is mentioned in the article: It's mentioned near the end of the section titled "Milton Berle Show and "Hound Dog"". Steel1943 (talk) 01:41, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Withdrawl Turns out it is in the article. Whoops. Mr. Guye (talk) 01:40, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. I echo Steel1943's call for this to be added to the article, though. I definitely think Mickey Mouse has a similar nickname. --BDD (talk) 13:31, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect's name is not mentioned in the target article. Without references, the term is ambiguous at best; this term could also loosely refer to Mickey Mouse or any of the first few Disney animated characters created by Walt Disney himself. Steel1943 (talk) 01:30, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

*Delete Too ambiguous to be useful. --Mr. Guye (talk) 01:37, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep it was a widely used and commonly known nickname for Jacko. [1][2][3][4] etc ad inifinitum -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 04:49, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per anon and innumerable media mentions. It easily passes a WP:GOOGLETEST. - Eureka Lott 23:55, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: At this point, if someone can add it to the article with references, consider this nomination withdrawn. Steel1943 (talk) 15:09, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • It has been proven to be correct. This is why redirects should support having documentation added directly to them. {{redr}} should be modified to add references when needed -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 02:37, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I see that. I'm just asking for it to be added to the article now. I'm not sure where to put it, but someone else might. Steel1943 (talk) 03:17, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects' name is mentioned nowhere in the target article. Without it being mentioned in the article with references, these redirects' existence seems like violations of WP:POV and WP:OR. Steel1943 (talk) 01:14, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Jackson's religion[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 13:26, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is the leftover result of a couple of AfD discussions (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michael Jackson's religion and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michael Jackson's religion (2nd nomination)). However, with the current state of the article, the article seems to not go into enough detail at any specific point or section in this article to helpfully redirect the reader. The only two points in the article where specifically the subject's religion is mentioned is the infobox and a brief mention in the section "1986–90: Appearance, tabloids, Bad, films, autobiography, and Neverland". (In other words, it seems that most of the content in the redirect's history is no longer in the article.) There might be a good option for retargeting in a different article that starts with "Michael Jackson", but if not, the redirect's current situation is misleading and unhelpful at best due to not having enough information about the redirect's subject in the article's current state. Steel1943 (talk) 01:05, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note: I added Religious beliefs of Michael Jackson to this nomination due to being similar to the "Michael Jackson's religion". Steel1943 (talk) 01:26, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all per Steel1943's not being able to find a valid target. This seems like it would have been an undue POV fork. I'm not familiar with Michael Jackson having been known as a particularly notably religious person, so any discussion should be able to fit in the main article.
