Unexpected redirect name. Someone might want to look for Άγιοι Τόποι or Agioi Topoi, but not for the concatenated version Άγιοι Τόποι Agioi Topoi. Stefan2 (talk) 18:05, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Τερλίκια[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 17:48, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. This appears to be a kind of slipper, but it is not discussed on the target page, and slippers are not especially Greek. Gorobay (talk) 16:46, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak delete: apparently Τερλίκια are traditional Greek woollen slippers, but we don't seem to have an article mentioning them. Maybe someone comes up with nice WP:SAL of traditional slippers, so that this redirect could be retargetted there? — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talktrack) 22:51, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete slippers are not particularly a Greek topic. If an article is written about this particular type of Greek slipper, it can then redirect there. If no such article exists, then the redirect should not exist. -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 06:41, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete probably better off as a part of a new article of Greek footwear.--Lenticel (talk) 01:30, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dihydrogen monoxide[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep - as the consensus view this is clearly the most relevant target. Challenges over the existence of the target should go to WP:AFD. NAC. The Whispering Wind (talk) 00:51, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as WP:POV redirect; if this exists, it should redirect to water, ice or steam. This currently redirects to an opinion piece, dihydrogen monoxide hoax, which has WP:GNG issues as it appears to be merely a criticism of a non-notable website, Alexa 400000-rank DHMO.org; any info on the chemical nomenclature which was in that article has long since been removed. The redirect was pointed to dihydrogen monoxide hoax and full-protected for half a year by a WP:INVOLVED editor at the target article in violation of our WP:Protection policy, which reserves this to uninvolved editors. K7L (talk) 13:11, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to properties of water: several similar redirects were recently discussed here; the result of discussion for "Dihydrogen oxideproperties of water" entry was "keep". Same rationale applies here. I also believe this one should follow the result of that discussion for consistency reasons. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talktrack) 13:28, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • keep for nowIf you don't like the target article, the put it up for deletion; but as it stands, it appears that the most likely significance for this phrase is the joke/hoax. Mangoe (talk) 14:22, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep and block the nominator for extreme tendentiousness and sockpuppetry. This is a devious misuse of this board and is part of an ongoing tendentious campaign by an editor who refuses to accept the results of their failed attempt to change the name and direction of the Dihydrogen monoxide hoax article. I have created a 12 point summary of all they have done wrong. They have even used a sockpuppet in this campaign, but the one admin who observed it isn't reacting, possibly because they are involved at the article. The Dihydrogen monoxide hoax article is definitely not a criticism of the hoax or website. It describes the whole thing. The unusual term dihydrogen monoxide is pretty much exclusively used in connection with this hoax, so the redirect is proper. -- Brangifer (talk) 15:08, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment As a description of the terminology, the article currently at dihydrogen monoxide hoax is not useful as it is merely a misplaced essay attacking a non-notable website. What little content formerly attempted to explain the chemical nomenclature was deleted here. Arbitrarily redirecting readers to joke or opinion pieces is not helpful as they convey no useful information. K7L (talk) 01:15, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • K7L, your tendentious pushing of this non-issue is really tiring. Your comment is nothing more than a repetition of your nomination above. Face it...you LOST your attempt to move the article. Get over it and drop this issue. The consensus is against you in every venue you have tried to push this. -- Brangifer (talk) 02:25, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • This discussion is about the redirect, not an article or user. Should it be retargeted (presumably to properties of water), replaced with disambiguation (ice, water, steam) or simply deleted as an improbable and not very useful search term? K7L (talk) 03:45, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep As the name of a chemical, this is obscure. As the name of a hoax, it is very well-known. Nearly everyone who encounters this phrase will find the answer they want at the hoax article. If you have a problem with the article, take it to articles for deletion. Ego White Tray (talk) 01:59, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, when this is used to refer to water, it is done jokingly, and so should point to the article about the joke. (Not sure why it is called a hoax). —Kusma (t·c) 18:24, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep a redirect doesnt make sense as DHMO is a silly name for water, however the hoax is well-known — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.221.169.97 (talk) 19:00, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as a well known hoax/joke. --Lenticel (talk) 08:31, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep - not only a plausible typo but at 10 years old, deletion is highly likely to break external links. NAC. The Whispering Wind (talk) 01:17, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not relevant to the Fula language or it's speakers. TheChampionMan1234 07:56, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: plausible misspelling. I frequently see "v" replaced with "w" by foreign readers with quite some ability to read in English. In my observation, slavs with German as first foreign language learned are particularily succible to this mistake. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talktrack) 08:37, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: German speakers use "w" to say "v" WhisperToMe (talk) 12:00, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: "Moldowa" is also a historical English spelling: see [1], for example. הסרפד (call me Hasirpad) 22:53, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Target is not a disambiguation page, and there is no need for one. TheChampionMan1234 07:34, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak keep: there is a hugely oversized hatnote at the target article disambiguating the term between three meanings, so this is not entirely unreasonable. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talktrack) 08:40, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambig which is drafted below the redirect. Ego White Tray (talk) 02:09, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
