This is problematic. Due to the way Russian patronymics work, this could refer to anyone named Nikolai with a father named Ivan. We have articles on several such people, and there's no indication that Vavilov was either the most prominent or commonly referred to simply as "Nikolai Ivanovich" (perhaps he might be in everyday speech, but that's a bit like redirecting John to one individual with the given name.) Nor do I think this is a good case for disambiguation. A patronymic isn't a middle name, precisely, but we wouldn't list every John Christopher, for example, of various surnames. Non-notable subreddit. Not mentioned at target and has no reason to be, either. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 19:41, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Retarget to Nominum. WJBscribe (talk) 01:27, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I propose this redirect for deletion. It seems like an advertisment to product from Nominum company. Please note that this redirect originally targetted to page Nominum and this page is marked as "Advert". Now the redirect points to an article about employee of the Nominum company, which seems useless to me.

The only link to this redirect comes from article Comparison of DNS server software. Kaluzman (talk) 13:09, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Nominum. As the nominator states, this was the original target which was then changed by a bot for no good reason that I can see. However, with the retarget this makes a useful redirect. It is quite normal to redirect a nn product to the parent company. The best way forward, I suggest, would be to fix the target rather than delete the redirect. The Whispering Wind (talk) 14:38, 16 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
