September 19[edit]
This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on September 19, 2008
Hop-by-hop → Onion routing[edit]
Utterly useless redirect which points to an ostensibly unrelated article; seems to be a remnant of an attempt at an article on OR created in mid-2005 by a misguided user who didn't know the proper terminology. It should either be deleted or converted to disambig like End-to-end. 82.1.177.170 (talk) 22:59, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- speedy delete per nom. DiggyG (talk) 03:36, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Speedydelete as meeting WP:CSD#R3. 99.238.45.79 (talk) 02:15, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
- Oops, forgot to log in, the above is me. By the way, I don't think it meets R3 anymore as it states Recently created... However, still delete as being implausible. Pie is good (Apple is the best) 02:19, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
- Retarget to existing article Hop-by-hop transport. It can still be disambiguated later if seen fit.--Tikiwont (talk) 08:55, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- Retarget per Tikiwont. Proposed target needs work on its citations, but it's a more logical landing than the original target article. 147.70.242.40 (talk) 18:56, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
CFB:OFFSEASON → Wikipedia:WikiProject College football/Please Refrain from Spamming History AfDs during the season[edit]
Redirect from the article namespace to a subpage of a Wikiproject. Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:30, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- Curious what would you recommend?--Paul McDonald (talk) 19:37, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- Delete as being an unplausible typo/misnomer. Pie is good (Apple is the best) 20:47, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- Not disagreeing but what would you recommend?--Paul McDonald (talk) 20:51, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- What would I recommend of what? I don't understand your question, but I don't agree with Blanchard as is isn't really that much shorter than the title of the target. Pie is good (Apple is the best) 01:59, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- Delete Should not be redirecting from mainspace to project space. -Djsasso (talk) 21:12, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- Comment. There are a whole bunch of redirects to that WikiProject that begin with CFB:. It's like it has a reserved namespace, which, of course, is not the case. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 23:04, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- Response After thinking, I'm pretty sure that there is an editor in the project working on a bot to handle that and make the translation. I don't mind deleting, but can you hold off until his bot cycles through?--Paul McDonald (talk) 19:11, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- Delete as a cross-namespace redirect. For future ones, you should (if you haven't already) ask the project to just move them to some Wikipedia:xxx... location. Protonk (talk) 05:54, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- Delete, unneeded cross-namespace redirect --Church of emacs (Talk | Stalk) 13:37, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
- Delete So much "Wait, what?", so little time. Does any other Wikiproject create links like this (in a psuedo-name dedicated to itself) ? Is this page really suggesting AfD stop for football half the year? --Phirazo (talk) 03:19, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- Response this is about the redirect itself, not the content of what is redirecting to...--Paul McDonald (talk) 03:31, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- Boldly moved to WP:CFBOFFSEASON. Stifle (talk) 11:21, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- So we have the shortcut under discussion... to a page whose title needs to be discussed. The original name seems to be following a precedent (see MOS:DAB), albeit being a link to an essay rather than an editorial guideline. As it is mentioned as a boxed short cut on the target page, I'm inclined to recommend keeping the redirect as proposed. 147.70.242.40 (talk) 19:43, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- The page move created a new cross-namespace redirect, so the problem remains whole. The newly-moved page should be kept, but the redirect at its old location should be deleted. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 20:43, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Doon Heritage Crossroads - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia → Doon Heritage Crossroads[edit]
This page was created through an editing blunder on my part. Can someone please zap it? Thanks.Kelisi (talk) 12:34, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- I've replaced the content with the {{db-author}} to show that you've requested deletion (under the speedy deletion criteria G7) - hopefully that will draw an admin's attention to it sooner. Booglamay (talk) - 12:37, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Manele gratis → Manele[edit]
Yes, I know I'm the one who made it into a redirect.. A user created the page which consisted of one sentence and a link to the Manele article (see history), I made it into a redirect, But I'm questioning if even that is appropriate. Brougham96 (talk) 01:35, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- If you want to delete it 100% sure, you can tag it with {{db-author}}, but since you're not 100% sure, I
wantwon't tag it as such. While I'm at it, delete as not being mentioned in target article. Pie is good (Apple is the best) 20:49, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
