Keith Steve HowardKeith Howard[edit]

The result of the debate was Kept (no consensus). -- JLaTondre (talk) 12:33, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is a vandalism redirect based off a one-shot joke from a non-notable (in Wikipedia terms) web parody series that should be given no creedence here. I also ask that the redirect be salted. JuJube (talk) 19:18, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comment The lead of Keith Howard introduces his full name as Keith Steve Howard, what's up with this? The Dominator (talk) 00:40, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Vandalism, removed. JuJube (talk) 02:09, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest you read WP:VANDAL and not call edits vandalism, even blatantly unhelpful edits aren't always vandalism. The Dominator (talk) 13:28, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. I'd say making an obvious parody video appear as though it's official qualifies. JuJube (talk) 03:31, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think you're forgetting WP:AGF. The Dominator (talk) 13:34, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe I assume too much intelligence to think the average person will know that parodies are not the real thing. JuJube (talk) 04:05, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But you're missing the point of redirects completely. It doesn't matter if it's real or not, what matters is if it's a likely search item, in this case it appears to be. The Dominator (talk) 13:34, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think your you're missing the point, that is not the purpose for redirects, please see Wikipedia:Redirect Antonio Lopez (talk) 02:24, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That would be "you're" not your as an abbreviation of "you are" rather than the possesive adjective "your". Anyway, this falls under "Other names, pseudonyms, nicknames, and synonym", obviously somebody thought of entering "Keith Steve Howard" making it a sensible redirect. The Dominator (talk) 05:16, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, that was just a typo I missed, no need for a grammar lesson, we are human you know. In what way is "Keith Steve Howard" a sensible redirect, it's not even his nickname. It was only used in one episode of the abridged series which is not even notable. The creator of the series probably vandalized the page, took a screen shot and placed it on his video to explain why the rod worked on Keith. Plus this redirect will feed the trolls, influencing more vandalism on the subject. Antonio Lopez (talk) 02:53, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually that is not his full name. It was a name used in a non notiable Youtube paraody series that has been delted on at least 3 occasions. In short in no offical version of the show was this his name and it can also cause confusion regarding what his real name it. If we do keep it at the the article needs to be written in a way that makes it clear that this is not his actual full name and that it came from a unoffical source. Also can someone change the article because a present the unoffical name is listed in the lead and that should not be the case. --76.66.189.244 (talk) 01:41, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Again, it being included in the lead was vandalism and was removed. JuJube (talk) 02:09, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
adding so more. If we keep it it should the redirect should point to the paroadys section because that least would make more sense than the current redirect since that would explian where the name Steve came from. I reteriate though the opening paragraph should not use Keith Steve Howard. --76.66.189.244 (talk) 01:47, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, the video itself is not notable but some people obviously know the the character by that name making it a possible search, I don't think it should be included in the article, but redirects are cheap and in this case it's better to have it than not. The Dominator (talk) 02:06, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, likely search term. Stifle (talk) 10:52, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete A search item because of a vandal, I think not. please see WP:Redirect. I think it should be deleted and protect it from being created. Antonio Lopez (talk) 02:13, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I would have killed this as G3 or R1 if I had known about it (I was going to move protect the page as well). Unlike Dubya, Yu Gi Oh the Abridged series isn't a notable series and there is nothing to establish the popluarity of TAS as a likely search term. hbdragon88 (talk) 05:00, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
