Latif pedramLatif Pedram[edit]

The result of the debate was Kept and tagged with {{R from other capitalization}} per standard practice. While the lower case version will show up in Google, clicking on the Google link will still get the person to the correct page. -- JLaTondre 15:46, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was the one that initially created this article and I accidentally forgot to capitalize the P. I then asked an admin to correct that and he/she did corrected it, but for some reason they created a redirect for the lower cased version. That is now causing problems with Google so this needs to be correct. The Latif pedram to Latif Pedram redict should be deleted, otherwise a Google search for this Latif Pedram will not give a Wikipedia result. Lots of unused cross-namespace redirects[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 15:41, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The above is a list of unused cross-namespace redirects made by various users. Five of them have incoming links from the Rfd archives, but there are no other incoming links. Note that C: and T: are not usually used as pseudo-namespaces for shortcuts. --- RockMFR 01:04, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all per nom. Does it take that much longer to type CAT:UBT than C:UBT? The ones I checked had corresponding pseudo-namespace cuts. delldot | talk 07:19, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all as unneeded CNRs. Gavia immer (u|t) 19:11, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Even more unused cross-namespace redirects[edit]

The result of the debate was delete those that begin with "C:", keep those that begin with "WP:" or "CAT:". —Centrxtalk • 17:55, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All of the above redirects were made by two users during December 2006 (their only edits were the creation of these redirects). There are no relevant incoming links for any of them (WP:DU has one incoming link from a user page). While WP: and CAT: are commonly used as pseudo-namespaces for shortcuts, there is no reason to have these redirects just for the sake of having tons of shortcuts (which seems to be the only reason why they exist). --- RockMFR 01:11, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all beginning with C:, keep those beginning with CAT: or WP:. You can't always tell how useful something will be based on incoming links, especially with shortcuts, since folks use them to get to the page by typing in the box. Redirects are cheap, and these seem potentially useful. I don't see any reason not to keep them around. delldot | talk 07:25, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete shortcuts beginning with C: per above; weak keep of those beginning with CAT: or WP: - they aren't the most useful thing in the world, but I don't see a need to delete them. Gavia immer (u|t) 19:16, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A bunch of semi-used XNRs[edit]

The result of the debate was Two deleted & one kept. T:RC is not a cross-namespace redirect so the nomination rationale doesn't apply. -- JLaTondre 01:17, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[2] T:ITN, T:ITNT, T:RC -> various templates or template talk pages

These are arguably not the best way to link to templates, since you can link to them {{like this}}. These three are hardly in use at all so could safely be deprecated. >Radiant< 08:18, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all, but orphan first. {{tl}} is a better alternative. Note that the third is not a template link, however, it's also not a useful redirect for what it links to (way too generic). Gavia immer (u|t) 19:25, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all per above. Orphan the first two. The last, as said above, is not a CNR but it's too generic as a redirect. --- RockMFR 20:40, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And ditto for cats[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 15:32, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

C:CCSD, C:GUS, C:RM -> various categories

More nonstandard shortcuts, and hardly in use at all so can safely be deprecated. >Radiant< 08:21, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all. We have CAT: as a more standard pseudo-namespace for categories. Gavia immer (u|t) 19:27, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all. No need for another pseudo-namespace. delldot | talk 23:02, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And a bunch of well-used XNRs[edit]

The result of the debate was Kept. These appear to be wildly used & since they were not tagged with {{rfd}} it would be inappropriate to delete them without prior notification of those who use them. -- JLaTondre 14:09, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[3] T:DYK, T:TDYK,T:DYK/N, T:DYKT -> various templates or template talk pages

These are arguably not the best way to link to templates, since you can link to them {{like this}}. These four are pretty much in use, so if we want to deprecate them a bot should be employed to fix the links. >Radiant< 08:18, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all, but orphan them first. We have {{tl}} for linking to templates. Gavia immer (u|t) 19:31, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And finally[edit]

The result of the debate was Kept. This is wildly used & since it was not tagged with {{rfd}} it would be inappropriate to delete it without prior notification of those who use it. -- JLaTondre 14:09, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

C:CSD -> Category:Candidates for speedy deletion Redundant with CAT:CSD and non-standard, but rather heavily in use so a bot would be required as above. >Radiant< 08:21, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - we have the CAT: pseudo-namespace; we don't need it duplicated as C:. Gavia immer (u|t) 19:33, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Gavia immer. delldot | talk 23:13, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

H:C, H:H and H:CONT -> Help:Contents
H:TIME -> Help:Calendar
H:F -> Help:Displaying a formula

Another group of non-standard XNRs. As a side point, someone may want to take a look at these P: redirects and consider nominating them elsewhere. >Radiant< 08:30, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all, unneeded. Gavia immer (u|t) 19:35, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Longcuts[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 15:26, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
H:namespace -> Help:Namespace
H:table -> Help:table

A shortcut that's three letters shorter than the full name is hardly useful. >Radiant< 08:30, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all, unneeded. Gavia immer (u|t) 19:36, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both per nom. delldot | talk 23:13, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

While we're on the subject anyway[edit]

The result of the debate was Kept. -- JLaTondre 15:23, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A:F6, A:f6 -> Dane Cook
R:TV -> National Student Television Association

I have no clue why these redirect there, nor do the articles mention it. >Radiant< 08:30, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all - no explanation of why these would be useful. Gavia immer (u|t) 19:39, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Explanation - A:F6 is apparently some sort of joke made by Dane Cook on SNL that turned into a fad on Youtube (just google it and look at the first few results). R:TV is a member station of National Student Television Association according to that article. R:TV is mentioned in the target article, so that at least should be kept as a redirect. --- RockMFR 20:53, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep both per Rock MFR's explanation. If it's a fad, it's a plausible search term. delldot | talk 22:18, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unplayable and other characters and placesList of Tales of Legendia NPCs and locations[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 15:22, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect title is non-descript (does not mention which game's characters/places it refers to). —XhantarTalk 11:53, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: Why was this created in the first place? Phatom87 16:50, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a bit confused when looking at the redirect's history page, but I believe the article now called List of Tales of Legendia NPCs and locations was originally called Unplayable and other characters and places. When it was moved, the original article name was turned into a redirect. See here, and the edit summary for that revision here. —XhantarTalk 08:31, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That explains it. I can see the reason for renaming the article. Phatom87 16:38, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom. Not unique to one subject, trivial edit history. --- RockMFR 16:27, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BBC 'Rhythm & Movement' IdentsBBC 'Rhythm & Movement' idents[edit]

The result of the debate was Kept. -- JLaTondre 15:21, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No longer necessary since the page it forwards to is now itself a redirect. Wikiwoohoo 19:42, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. This seems like a plausible variant of the article capitalization. I've fixed the double redirect already. Gavia immer (u|t) 20:36, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep I'm going to fix the double redirect issue in about two minutes. Phatom87 16:53, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like this has been fixed. Shortly after the nomination. Phatom87 17:01, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
