Seems to be patent nonsense—I cannot imagine why anyone would arrive at these redirects even accidentally. However, a patent nonsense nomination on the Acgaeus one seems to have failed in December 2005—why? All these pages seem to have been created by User:Meelar on 24 May 2005 with the comment making it look like he was moving the pages, however no page move actually seems to have taken place. Does this make any sense to anyone? —pfahlstrom 22:53, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the debate was Deleted by Chairboy. -- JLaTondre 23:51, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Appears to be a spam redirect, having previously been targeted to Dildo, Ignorance and Stereotype (see edit history). PC78 17:13, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • 'Speedy delete as G1 (patent nonsense). There's no salvageable content there. Gavia immer (u|t) 18:45, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

National Bank of EgyptCentral Bank of Egypt[edit]

The result of the debate was Replaced. Redirect deleted (G6) and National Bank Of Egypt moved in it's place. -- JLaTondre 00:13, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is bad because the two banks are separate institutions. I would like to delete National Bank of Egypt so that National Bank Of Egypt (with a capital Of) can then be moved to National Bank of Egypt (with a lower-case of). --Eastmain 17:16, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Baltic herringHerring[edit]

The result of the debate was Withdrawn. -- JLaTondre 02:26, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Baltic herring are a genus of herring within the herring subfamily, and was self-linked within the herring article. It is confusing to click on a link for "baltic herring" and get directed to the "herring" article thinking that you are getting information specific to baltic herring. Is a needed article, but not a useful redirect. No useful data saved. Dkreisst 11:47, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. You're right that there shouldn't be a cyclical link within the article, but that can be dealt with by removing the link from the article. This is a common way to redirect, from a more specific thing to the article about something more general, and seems to me to be potentially useful. delldot | talk 07:36, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. Good point. I realized that what really bothered me about this redirect is that Baltic herring were listed with links to other articles on specific genuses of herring as if the link to Baltic herring was going to send me to a article specific to its genus, as the other links did. I've removed the links to "Baltic herring" and replaced them with "Baltic herring." I should have problem solved this better before posting it. My apologies. Dkreisst 01:26, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I withdraw my proposal. Dkreisst 01:26, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is no point in keeping these redirects the project Segway Geeks is now nonexistent (per discussion at WP:MFD). S.D. ¿п? § 00:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

John Gray (American Civil War)John Gray (American Revolutionary War)[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 04:09, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly these refer to different soldiers as the one in the Revolutionary War would have been 97 years old when the Civil War started; only mention of the Civil War soldier is on the John Gray disambiguation page Dmeranda 08:50, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete since they must be two different people. Dar-Ape 01:58, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Christensen (Formula One constructor)Christensen (constructor)[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 04:14, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The original name of the article ("Christensen (Formula One constructor)") was inaccurate. So I moved the article to the more accurate "Christensen (constructor)", which changed "Christensen (Formula One constructor)" into a redirect. I then changed all the links to "Christensen (Formula One constructor)" to "Christensen (constructor)". So now nothing links to "Christensen (Formula One constructor)", and it should be deleted because it's an inaccurate description. DH85868993 14:02, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bayside Community ChurchTampa, Florida[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted. -- JLaTondre 04:14, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted article on non-notable church recreated as a redirect to the town where its located. There are other churches with the same name of equal or greater notability.--Tdl1060 17:43, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Yeah, I can't imagine a situation in which this was an especially useful redirect, and I can think of some where it would be a problem. delldot | talk 07:39, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
