November 15[edit]

Second Coming RepublicanGarrison Keillor[edit]

According to talk:Second Coming Republican, this redirect was created to avoid AfD. However, this term is no more notable than it was last time and has recently caused confusion for someone. Because the term is almost never used, there is nothing to merge into Garrison Keillor that would make this redirect make sense. Therefore, the redirect is harmful and should be deleted. Delete; non-notable neologism. —Psychonaut 18:36, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A selection of redirects which were originally "temp" pages, and contain no edit histories[edit]

These are obsolete temporary pages. There are a lot more than this, but I'm only nominating 15 for now, so I don't go to too much work before seeing how the community receives the idea of getting rid of them.

  1. Canboulay Riots/TempCanboulay Riots
  2. The Economic Consequences of the Peace/temp -> The Economic Consequences of the Peace
  3. My Island Home/TempMy Island Home
  4. Billy Cox (musician)/TempBilly Cox/Temp (on a sidenote, the redirect is to another temp. page, but this one is active and creating troubles for the regular Billy Cox article)
  5. Billy Cox /TempBilly Cox/Temp (same exact situation as above)
  6. Jim Thorpe, PA/Temp -> Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania/Temp (redirects to an active temp. page which is creating problems for the Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania article)
  7. Mexico/TempMexico
  8. Kyrgyzstan/TempKyrgyzstan
  9. Laminectomy/TempLaminectomy
  10. Farthing/tempFarthing
  11. Netcraft/TempNetcraft
  12. Presov/TempPrešov
  13. Dullahan/TempDullahan
  14. Portofino/tempPortofino
  15. January 2005/tempJanuary 2005

I am only nominating some of the temp redirects which have been MOVED, and therefore contain no edit histories, and seem like nothing but implausible redirects anymore.

Some of the other temp redirects out there are from duplicated articles and ended up being redirected. Others were simply copied over in their entirety (not preserving edit history in the new article) and then redirected, so may eventually need that original edit history merged before they're removed.

Again, we're losing no edit histories in the removing of these particular redirects. --Czj 03:15, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete All of the above nominated redirects (and support deleting any similar ones nominated later). If they aren't being actively edited toward an eventual article, and they aren't holding any history, then all they're doing is clogging up search results and similar article listings. • Delete All since no edit history is being lost. EdJohnston 04:52, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Springfeild_Retirement_CastleSpringfield_Retirement_Castle[edit]

There aren't any other 'springfeild' typo redirects, so doesn't make sense that this relatively obscure springfield related page needs a redirect --Generica 04:27, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Unlikely it would ever be misspelled like that. It's just the chances of reversing any two letters -- "Springfiedl" could just as easily be typed. --Czj 17:50, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
